  • I get a lot of comments about liminal spaces on my photos, so I decided to embrace it a bit more and shoot liminal spaces with more intention. Maybe not the best time of the year for this type of photography since it's so bright outside. The Nikon D700 might also not be the best camera for this purpose, it's too good, the high ISOs don't have that much grain, and no digital glitches are to be seen in the photos. Still I like the photos I got this time, especially the one with the staircase, next time I might use the Nikon D100 to get a bit more aggressive grain in my liminal spaces.
Usually I don't include the location when posting this genre of photos, simply because it breaks the immersion when the location is known. It does show in the video at one point, but I don't see any point in editing it out either. What makes this location interesting is that there is no graffiti, usually underpasses like this one are covered in various graffiti, and the lack of it adds to the "liminal feel" of the location.
I originally intended this part to be a section of my previous Nikon D700 video, but it didn't quite fit the style of it.
