Nice. A change of pace from the usual. I hope you do another craftsman (POS) weed trimmer repair. I have 2 that won't start. I'm about to wrap them around the phone pole out in front of the house. Thanks for the Sunday morning videos
Just don't let your knees touch the frame when wearing shorts on a 15 mile ride! I had a 1970 Kawasaki H1 triple back when if you could find one it was $500. The first couple years actually came with an ignition distributor built into the side of the engine case with a distributor cap with fixed on ignition wires. Well, the wires had cracks going down to the actual wire inside. I didn't want to pay 40 bucks for a new cap and wires.....When it rained that bike shocked the holy smokes out of my knees when they touched the gas tank! I laugh at myself now days thinking back on the lessons we all learn THE HARD WAY!
Nice one modifying the bottom bracket shell . You best review at 1:00:25 . You have some significant lateral frame flex in the rear triangle when you gun it and it'll be a lot worse when you do that under any load. I wouldn't be comfortable with it as is. Also consider slathering some marine paste or similar on the spokes where they enter the hub flange covered by the rear sprocket, at least. Best would be to replace them. They're already corroded and brittle and the stress from that sprocket torque will really test them, and guess where they'll break? At the hub flange.
Looks KiLLeR! Early '90s, I made a complete bike from scratch using schedule 40 water pipe for the frame. Rugged Worksman brand industrial bicycle wheels w/drum brakes, running gear from Grainger, and a Tecumseh 5hp. Looks right outta the '20s w/it's white tires, home-made girder type front suspension. It's almost an antique in it's own right! ; )
Reminds me of my first moped in the uk 45 years ago, a Raleigh runabout, 50 cc , variable belt drive and chain to the rear wheel, my first taste of two wheeled transport, now 62, Ducati S2r 800!
Mustie 1, people don't refer to there junk as rubbish but as highly sort after rare spares even if they have been kicking around collecting rust/dust for the last 10 yrs, And you always find what you're looking for in the last place you look as you don't keep looking for them after you have found them do you? keep churning out the videos it does brighten our day in these difficult times thankyou.
@@jagsfanrick only down side is the price. a 48 v 13 ah battery will run you back around 180 bucks (dolphin style). and the 100 watt rear hub motor would cost 150-160.

Mustie, I appreciate that you listen to me think while I'm watching your recording.... (in my mind)...."Mustie you need a spacer" 5 seconds later, comes the spacer :D
Great start to what looks like a fun build!
The wife asked me why I had my welding mask on I said I was waiting for mustie1 to do some welding. she said I looked so upset when he didn’t do any lol great video thanks
I love the little flames during the test run.
Was that a mk1 Raleigh Chopper in that bike hoard? It was missing the gear selector and brakes but it's a rare and valuable bike in the UK
Super awesome Mustie 1. Thoroughly enjoyed your 1 hour video on installing an engine on a bicycle with ingenious mechanical mind. I surprise myself by pedaling my stationary bike for one hour. Thats shows me how interested your video & your comments as you install an engine from scratch with modification. Keep up the wonderful video & stay safe--Mustie 1
You bought an engine! What's up, couldn't you find one anywhere?
Always enjoy listening to you talk yourself into stuff, looking forward to the rest of the build
I got so excited to see that we were going to build a old school bicycle with a engine I damn near spilled my coffee
susie coreno I felt the same way,... until he unboxed the china doll 4 stroke!
I sour rather see him build an old Briggs engine and mount it in a bike, then he could have some real fun!
Nice. A change of pace from the usual. I hope you do another craftsman (POS) weed trimmer repair. I have 2 that won't start. I'm about to wrap them around the phone pole out in front of the house. Thanks for the Sunday morning videos
Brilliant, you must be a mind reader, I was just about to ask 'when are you going to build another old time bike', great stuff.
I like the idea of a four-stroke. It’ll be a cool looking bike!
"Cheap engine powered bike" I pressed like before the video started. :D
The sprocket that you took out of the box is the right one for the Bike. Now that is what you call a Treasure Trove Box.
Everyone screaming..."whitewall"....let down with aplomb.!
Yup white walls!
thanks Mustie . All the stuff I'm interested in doing and i don't have to leave the couch!!
MUSTIE: Exhaust idea: What about tying in the exhaust into the frame of the bike? I've never seen that done before. Would it be enough flow? Shrug ??
I, one day, aspire to have a mountain of dirt like mustie’s
I have a jar of old dirt, good enough? :D
My wife would kill me!
Benn working on it, but now I just work!
I love those old frames. The taper on those rear forks is classic stuff. You won't see that on a modern bike.
I have had one of those chain link tools for years.... Until now I never knew what it was I thought it was for valves or something
It's almost an antique in it's own right! ; )
that green 20 inch with the tiny front tire is a raleigh probably pretty rare probably was a stick shift bike
Great video. You are an artist. My parents wouldn’t buy me a stingray either, thought it was a fad. I got a Swynn Typhoon and built my own.
No better way to start a Sunday, than with a new video from mustie1.
Enjoyed this build. Look forward to seeing the finished bike.
Mustie: I was watching someone else's videos
Me: I bet it was Project Farm
Mustie: Project Farm's actually
Me:🤩
Reminds me of my first moped in the uk 45 years ago, a Raleigh runabout, 50 cc , variable belt drive and chain to the rear wheel, my first taste of two wheeled transport, now 62, Ducati S2r 800!
they finally found a use for all the burnout tires from Cleetus McFarland haa haaa
Back in late 60s we built these with a old reel lawnmower engine and a pulley from a old clothes dryer and a v-belt
yea loud stinky and a pos. Go battery and quiet and no stink.
@@jagsfanrick yeah. Nothin better than riding for 10 minutes and charging for 10 hours. Stinky??
@@jagsfanrick only down side is the price. a 48 v 13 ah battery will run you back around 180 bucks (dolphin style). and the 100 watt rear hub motor would cost 150-160.
@@giggiddy surprisingly higher end ebikes can go up to 100 miles on a single charge, however that comes at a massive price. with that being said a nice cheap 350 bucks setup could get you around a 15 mile range at 31 mph.
@@EclipticFactions i get 40 miles from a 2L fuel tank on a $300 build (4-stroke for life)
All the nice old bikes you have in the US make me a little jealous 😉. Really interesting and fun to follow your videos.

anyone else wake up on Sunday morning and jump out of bed and yell "new Mustie video time!!" or is it just me??
it's not just you hehe
Sunday mornings on the porch with a coffee, a good cigar and a Mustie video are my guilty pleasures
Sunday morning, pot of coffee and Musty1 best start of the week.
Hey Mustie!!!!...Another great video from you!!!...Just what people need in this horrible time!!!!...I hope you and your family are safe!!!!...lookin fwd for your next video!!!!!
When you make an early Harley replica out of a old bike and 4 stroke engine. LOL
Yes! A PROJECT FARM reference! Love that guy. What a small little youtube world
Have you ever tried putting an engine on a three wheeled bike?
This is the first new product I’ve seen on this channel. Weird to see cardboard boxes and packing material. Always great content here!
