I own this pedal. The thing I don't like is a constant continuous background noise when it's turned on. Particularly when I use it with a tube saturation amp. Something that doesn't happen to me with other boost pedals that are much less famous and cheaper than this one. Honestly, I'm amazed by this thing. I'm sorry for my english
Hey! Sorry to hear you are having some unwanted noise. You do have a lifetime warranty on the pedal. If there is any problem, we can fix it for you. If you go to this link and send us an email we will take of it. jackson.audio/pages/vip-warranty
I got this pedal used and it wasn't working for me at first and left it out for a long while and then one day, I try again and start by removing a delay pedal that I always use and Oh My God, this thing is really where the money is or went. My amp goes from good the best, skipping better. Now, it is where it is supposed to be. Right in front of my REVV D2 & D3 and nothing else. The whole world is much more beautiful with this One pedal.
Basically the bootup sequence takes about 10 seconds for all the relays to and circuits to settle in. If you need to bypass it though we give you the option to get out of it by pressing the footswitch.
Some people will buy a $2000 mountain bike which for me is crazy. But I'm willing to shell out $250 plus for this booster/od pedal because I love to experiment with my guitar tone (my justification) .
Mine doesn't sound like this. The low gain, medium gain, and high gain all sound the same with no real gain boost, only volume will get louder. This is in all stages but I prefer amp mode.
I got this pedal a week ago, it's truly incredible but it badly needs a volume knob. I can only use it in the transparent setting as a slight overdrive because it can't achieve unity (or even close) with the dry signal once I turn the boost knob past 9 o'clock, rendering an incredible pedal almost useless for me. The boost/vol increase is insane, just off the charts loud. I'm gutted because the gain sounds are beautiful. Not a cheap pedal so be warned.
Hey Clive! Just to be clear, the PRISM is a boost pedal meant to slam the front of the amp and not an overdrive where the pedal has a ton of gain and reigns that back down with a master volume at the end.
@@JacksonAudio hey guys, happy Christmas. Yes i do understand that of course and I'm not using it as an od, I have a Origin Effects Revival Drive right beside it for that. The amp and Colour settings do suggest it can be treated as an overdrive if one was that way inclined...am I wrong..? It's just that it slams the amp so hard that anything after 9 o'clock is such a massive db volume boost you can use it only as an always on pedal. As far as the tone of the pedal goes I'm so impressed with it that its staying on my board, I'll use it as a slight tone enhancer/boost in the transparent position. I just wish I had a tiny bit extra tweak ability volume wise, rather than readjust the amp to match the pedal. Then I could get more out of the amp and colour settings too. I cant reiterate enough though how amazing the tone of the Prism is. It's not a criticism at all, just an observation and a wish. It's my first Jackson Audio pedal and it certainly won't be my last. Thank you for responding and keep up the great work. Clive
@@CliveBarnesMusic thanks for the kind words Clive! I really appreciate it! There is no circuitry in the PRISM that will overdrive anything. The only way you get OD is to beat the front end of the amp into submission. :)
I have a simple question. Is it possible to use the PRISM as a preamp with a Torpedo CAB ?? Using the poweramp sim and IRs to get a real (good) amp sound ?
The thing about this pedal it's like 3 pedals in one but most people will just keep it on the same settings so why pay more instead of just buying a cheaper pedal that does that one thing you need.
Nigel = BOSS
Mateus Asato He really is the BOSS
Fine....you're both the BOSS!!! :)
I like it. Nice work, Brad - and Nigel!

This sounds wonderful, I can't wait to check this out!
Regards,
Nigel hendroff and inspiration , I want to set up a setup like yours my dream
Beautiful!!!
It is normal to lose sound when switching gain and boost switch right?
What guitar strap is Nigel using?
I'm a little unclear, what's the difference between cancelling the boot up vs letting it run through?
Basically the bootup sequence takes about 10 seconds for all the relays to and circuits to settle in. If you need to bypass it though we give you the option to get out of it by pressing the footswitch.
Does the inclusion of the boot up mode mean the pedal is digital?
Not at all. It's analog audio but there is digital control of things like relays and led's etc.

What mics are on that amp?

WANT ONE!!!!!
I just got mine today. Is there supposed to be a split second mute in signal when turning it on/off? Sometimes it does it and sometimes not.
There’s a latency delay with the Jackson audio stuff. A lot my friends I know mention this issue. My bloom does it with the boost side at times

Forges Jérémy i had the same exact idea. I haven't gotten the prism yet though.. Did you end up trying it out?
