    FILM SYNOPSIS♡
    Riley (Kaitlyn Dias) is a happy, hockey-loving 11-year-old Midwestern girl, but her world turns upside-down when she and her parents move to San Francisco. Riley's emotions -- led by Joy (Amy Poehler) -- try to guide her through this difficult, life-changing event. However, the stress of the move brings Sadness (Phyllis Smith) to the forefront. When Joy and Sadness are inadvertently swept into the far reaches of Riley's mind, the only emotions left in Headquarters are Anger, Fear and Disgust.

      Absolutely, severe clinical depression basically ‘blunts’ ALL emotions, it’s a pervasive, all encompassing numbness, you feel *blank*, empty, going through the motions on autopilot like a robot, nothing makes you happy, sad, or angry, because that would be feeling …something… SCD erases that.
      And people trying to be ‘helpful’ by saying “get over it” or “cheer up” or “be happy”, “just stop being sad” or any positive platitudes they think will ‘help’ either annoy the person with SCD, making them retreat deeper inside and slam up more emotional walls, or force them deeper into depression…
      You’d think if it was that easy, WE’D HAVE DONE IT ALREADY!
      You know what helps?
      Trying to understand what’s happening from our perspective, listening, not trying to solve or rationalize the problem, give us time to work it out, stop with the psychobabble, buzzwords, and other useless crap, just be there and be supportive.

    This movie is INCREDIBLE with color theory.
    Riley: striped shirt as they're moving with all colors on them to show theyre in harmony, or so it seems. yellow jacket on the first day of school because she's still young enough to be excited. Striped shirt sans blue and yellow at the dinner table because all of her emotions are fighting for control with joy and sadness gone. Black jacket because she's emotionally shutting down.
    Emotions: joy has blue hair, backing up the theory joy and sadness go hand in hand. Disgust has a purple ascot, suggesting disgust is mainly motivated by what scares us. Anger is wearing a red tie showing how when were angry, we can't see, hear, or feel anything else. Think, "seeing red". Fear itself is purple, a mix of red and blue, or in this case, anger and sadness. And finally Sadness is wearing a white turtleneck as a combination of all the emotions, like how all light is combined to make white light.

Also, I love the message that we need sadness in our lives. Otherwise, what is true joy? This movie actually taught me sadness isn't a negative emotion in which people think they shouldn't be sad because it's unhealthy for them in a way. It also showed me toxic happiness, where you have to be happy and positive all the time, isn't good either. Like how Joy insists on being the main emotion because she thinks it's the right thing to do.

      All men have sadness inside of them!
      Their girlfriends or wives need to owe them a apology!
      Because judging your own boyfriend or husband is wrong because that's not romantic and not even nice!

    Inside Out hit me in the feels with this one. There's so much relatability, where the struggle of growing up is something that we all have to deal with. The point of the movie is that sometimes you need sadness to get through life. And it shows at the end of the movie, which was a very touching scene. And the scene with Joy crying was very well done. An amazing Pixar film that's definitely one of their best!

      I actually saw this movie at age 35... but I CAN say when I was younger anything emotional would also make me cringe! My first watch of this movie has an interesting story attached to it:
      The scene where Joy is about to give up and says "Do you remember when she used to stick her tongue out when she was coloring?" THAT one ALMOST got me to cry in front of my roommates (at age 35, that was the FIRST time ANY movie ever did that to me!) I held in the tears BUT it was PAINFULLY difficult to do so! Then after the film, I realize I'm craving more tearjerkers when I've NEVER had that tendency in my LIFE. After a bit of research, I come to find out that endorphins often get released along with tears (or, "almost-tears" like in that case), and endorphins can definitely cause cravings for whatever triggered them. So, this movie basically turned me into a tearjerker-seeker lol.

    like the stuff joy was doing is what causes depression and suppression and NPC children lol and its interesting how everyone has been conditioned subconsciously to side with joy, immediately note quite but hate sadness and want Riley to not feel that. like no one wants kids to be sad but it's normal and people who are like oh it's fine it's a learning experience and talk to their kids about it are told they're being bad parents.
    It's also interesting how i can almost write an entire essay on this without even trying it was supposed to be a little observation but in class i get a prompt and I'm like wtf 😂

    Love this movie. It's such a cute way of showing emotional development and processing.
    Side note:: Me realizing that each character is primarily ruled by different emotions. Riley as a kid is mostly ruled by Joy. Mom has Sadness in charge and Dad has Anger.

    When they're tossing memories, they're not just getting rid of stuff she doesn't need. They're getting rid of stuff that was associated with the island that was just destroyed.
    And for the record, if at any point you've ever said, "I'm not a kid anymore.", that's how you know YOUR goofball island has been destroyed.

    This movie was so special to me, Inside Out came out when I had moved across the country and I got to see all my feelings on the big screen LOL. It made my mom and step dad cry big time, too.
    For a movie suggestion, I’d love if you’d do A Dog’s Purpose if you haven’t watched it yet, its so emotional but as a dog lover, it was one of my favourite movies. It helped me so much with grieving my past dogs.

    The guys over at Cinema Therapy said it best, there is a type of love that is only experienced through sadness & a type of joy that is only experienced through grief. Rewatching this movie now hits so different. A really close friend of mine passed 2 years ago of cancer & every happy memory I have of her is now coloured in blue. But that's what makes them beautiful.

    Did you know: Rileys colored shirt she wore when showing up to her new house,represents her 5 emotions, and also includes orange, which hints a new emotion in the 2nd movie. We also see this on the fake flower bing bong has on his jacket, which also represents rileys 5 emotions, plus the new emotion, which is anxiety,the new emotion but not the other emotions in inside out 2.✨THE MORE YOU KNOW✨

    I don’t know if some else has mentioned it but the reason Bing Bong “ignores” the signs is because he was made by Riley before she learned how to read so he can’t! If anything it’s joy and sadness fault for not telling him what they say!

    Yay great to see you back Rukiya I couldn’t wait for this movie reaction 😁😁😁 this is such a fantastic movie because it’s got the emotions and I do admit it did make me tear up a few times like Bing Bongs Death so sad 😭 but he did go as a hero. I love the important lessons like you can’t be happy all the time you need to have other emotions to make you human and guess that’s what Joy learnt that Riley needed to have Sadness to express what she was feeling inside and because she kept pushing the other emotions away Riley became empty inside which I think is a great lesson that everyone should watch and of course I love funny moments in this as well like dream part hilarious 😂. Thank you for doing this movie and I can’t not wait what you do next 😊😊😁😉😉

    i actually cried 3 times when i first watched it in the cinema back then.. 1st is when Joy is about to give up and hugging the core memories & forgotten memories, 2nd is the line "take her to the moon for me", 3rd is when she went back home and finally cries in front of her parents.. untill now, this movie & My Sister's Keeper is the only movies that can make me cry the most :((

    • @sathvamp1
      @sathvamp1 8 місяців тому +2

      Gosh, that scene where Joy is about to give up and says "Do you remember when she used to stick her tongue out when she was coloring?" THAT one ALMOST got me to cry in front of my roommates (at age 35, that was the FIRST time ANY movie ever did that to me!) I held in the tears BUT it was PAINFULLY difficult to do so!
      But if you want to try to find some MORE tearjerks for yourself... try "Interstellar," "The Land Before Time," or "Nimona" (Nimona holds the record for being the ONLY one so far that can make me cry with RE-watches of it.... or even reading or writing UA-cam comments about it... THAT one has done it 15 times so far!)

    • @devaw5599
      @devaw5599 8 місяців тому +1

      @@sathvamp1 oh i've watched Interstellar and i cried haha.. Also yeah i know about Endorphins being released when we cry, that's why i love dramatic sad movies/ games (for me, Final Fantasy X has made me cry the most, even when replaying the game again after all these years).
      I haven't watched The Land Before Time & Nimona yet, so thanks for the recommendations!

    • @sathvamp1
      @sathvamp1 8 місяців тому +1

      @@devaw5599 Interstellar caught me by surprise (a few years after Inside Out)... I had no clue what it involved except outer space, haha. During that infamous "23-years-of-messages" scene, I was trying to eat a salad (so, was partly distracted) and at one point I thought to myself, "Why are my eyes dripping down my nose? OH- it's because this is a sad scene. And... darn, I half-missed it trying to eat this darn salad!" lol. I learned to put my food down if I sensed anything important coming up lol.
      And yeah... give yourself some tiiiime after watching either The Land Before Time or Nimona, for sure!
      One more... the Turkish version of "Miracle in Cell No. 7" holds the record for me (not for re-watch tears, but...) for the most frequently a movie has ever made me cry just during the first watch (I haven't fairly tried a re-watch yet)... I cried between 5-6 times during that one (I started to lose count).

    The movie hits different to me now as an hispanic 14 year old immigrant. When it first came out, I just watched it like a normal movie. Some emotions here and there, but nothing too strong. Now that I'm not on my home anymore, I just cry and cry everytime I see this movie, cuz I can relate in a lot of points to Riley. Home didn't feel like home, school wasn't the same, I lost some friendships, and at some point, I thought of running away or smth, but I just changed my mind. I just feel so related to her, and that's why I love the movie even more now 🤧. Really great vid btw. Love ur content ♥️🫂
