Love how Disney started to acknowledge mother-daughter relationships. Prior to Brave it tended to be male-relationships (father/brother/uncle). Evil stepmother was practically the farthest we had gotten.
Well, we DID have Mulan's Mom and Sleeping Beauty's Mom and Noni as a Mom-type figure for Lilo who were positive mother roles. Wendy being a mother to the Lost Boys, as well. Moana and her Mom....while they have very little interaction in the movie, what they do have shows a beautiful bond between them. When she tells Moana why her father fears the sea and when she HELPS her daughter pack for her journey to heal the ocean.
@@CeltycSparrow but not every mother-daughter relationship is as smooth as those. They can be messy and just as complex as a relationship between a child and its father. That's the point. Before Brave it was either a stepmom that wabted to kill the protagonist, or a perfect mom. But here we are shown certain depths between a mother and a daughter, which did not have room in many previous movies.
The reason why her mom's red panda was the largest was probably due to the stress she had growing up, being the perfect daughter to her mother, the perfect mother to Mei Mei, and the perfect woman to others around her. She needed to give what others wanted instead of what she wanted for herself. But in doing so, caused her panda to go out of control. The way I see it: the panda is a mental picture of what we are on the inside. If we focus more on how other people see us, we become dangerous by losing our mental selves. However, if we focus on being true to ourselves, less dangerous we become. This is why Disney portrayed this scene so well when Mei sees her mother in that broken state. She noticed how hurt her mother had been as a teenager and the reason why she treated her that way.

A lot of people get their periods even earlier than 13, as well. It's great to educate your children early anyways about puberty rather than wait last minute or until the bleeding starts. Imagine you don't talk to your child assuming they start at 13-14 and suddenly at age 9 or 10 they start their menstrual cycle. It would be traumatic! Growing up, the only reason I knew it was coming was because my school educated us really early (elementary school grade 3) and my older sister's experience helped prepare me, as well. I wish people would talk more about how Mei is literally her Mom and never really had an identity outside of that. Especially with the high academic standards set for her as seen frequently 😅
Wished this movie was released in Theaters, but seeing it on Disney Plus was much fun. Loved this movie, especially since I traveled to Toronto, they got everything on point.
Hey Rukiya Amazing reaction and I love your hair btw. But the reason why Mei's mom's panda is so big is because her panda is made off of anger and it built up over the years of her and her mother.

This is the first time a movie has captured almost every aspect of my life! 💕
I knew you were going to this movie 😄 what I love about the movie is that it isn’t just about a girl going through puberty which I know is the main thing going in the story but there is other important lessons such as never be afraid to be yourself and don’t try hide it especially with your family and also get yourself a wonderful group of friends like Mei Mei’s that support you and always be there for you and that you stick up for them as well 😊 and also love that Mei Mei and her mother fixed there relationship to a even better one as well 😊 I’m glad you enjoyed the movie Rukiya and can’t wait to see what you do next 😊😁❤️❤️❤️ ps hopefully it can be Little Mermaid since you have the red hair 😄

27:04 yeah, funny thing about that… if you look on/to the color wheel, and look at…. let’s say… Red and Green… they are polar opposites of another, like Peter Pan and Captain Hook, who ALSO wear red and green.
I got my period when I was 8 years old and had a little understanding on what it was due to our school roughly teaching it to us. It was pretty scary bcuz it was so much blood coming out all at once. Had it during school and was didn't tell anyone so I just stuffed my underwear with tissue until I got home. To think about it I don't think I actually told my mom untill 3 months after when she was washing my undies and would always see me use the toilet. Unfortunate that I was so shy to tell my mom, and wished I did earlier bcuz the cramps was unbearable.
Awesome reaction!! 🐼👩🏻🦰❤️ I love Pixar! Turning Red what an adorable furry panda it’s beautiful, I need to see it again. I’m crying already at the scene with Mei’s dad. Her family fully understanding Mei + the friend group is super heartwarming!! A brief story- in 5th grade we watched a video on periods. The real kicker they switched us, the girls saw boys puberty and vice versa it was chaotic. But at least guys will sorta know our pain 😂

Speaking as another woman, hun, may I just say, you are looking fiercely gorgeous with the sunset red hair. Its beautiful with your complexion.
Awe, thank youu!!!🥰❤️
Fr
Turning Red is a great movie. It's so crazy and funny. Mei's mom is too overprotective for her daughter. Mei Mei is 13 years old and needs sometimes to make her own decisions
❤❤❤🐼🐼🐼🤣🤣🤣
Wig or not, red looks so pretty on you girlie
10:03 I like how the teacher was non judgmental and really just expressed how that could be embarrassing but no judgement because he knows its normal😭❤️
YOUR LAUGH IS ICONIC❤❤VITS SO CUTEEE
I think the reason the mom’s panda is the biggest is because she had the most mother issues and anxiety
We love your reactions on animated movies, they are the best !
Also you're getting closer and closer to a 100k of subscribers, congrats. ❤
22:38 THAT IS SO CLEVER!!! 🤣🤣🤣
Girl you're so beautiful and ur humor is just.. *chefs kiss*
Awe, thank you so much!
Why do ur videos always make me feel happy and I feel like a baddie every time I watch ur videos ❤😊
i was so shocked that this was set in canada when i first watched this movie, i literally said out loud "OMG CANADIAN- thATs mE :D"
i am a canadian, not in toronto, but it's close enough lol
edit: thinking back on it now, the earliest you can get your period is like 8, sucky to be honest. yeah, i agree with normalizing it and people can stop being so argumentative about it being portrayed in an animated movie. chill, its au naturale bro lmao
I wish people would talk more about how Mei is literally her Mom and never really had an identity outside of that. Especially with the high academic standards set for her as seen frequently 😅
You're videos bring me joy, no cap thank you...
Please do "meet the Robinson's" next 🙏🏾
Omg I love that movie
@@virlinehonore9767 me too
4:41 was my favorite XD
The hair looks so cute straight with curls at the ends, girl you ate that up!
GIRL YOU’RE LITERALLY DROP DEAD GORGEOUSSS 😭
Yall i just realized how funny Tyler's and abby's reactions were at the end when mei was confessing all the stuff to her mom i'm dying
23:32 got me dying when you started screaming after the 4- town concert was beginning 💀
I LOVE THAT WIG
The holes scene is wild😂
Wished this movie was released in Theaters, but seeing it on Disney Plus was much fun. Loved this movie, especially since I traveled to Toronto, they got everything on point.
Hey Rukiya Amazing reaction and I love your hair btw. But the reason why Mei's mom's panda is so big is because her panda is made off of anger and it built up over the years of her and her mother.
This movie hit really close to home for me the only difference is that I don’t turn into a red panda and I’m not Canadian😂 My name is Maylene, similar to hers, and my immigrant mother and I relationship is just like this! My jaw was to the floor watching this 😭😭😭 what’s funny is I watched with my family and my mom was like”this movie is just teaching kids to be disrespectful to their parents” haha it’s so on brand!😂😂😂 I really love this movie it made me feel so seen! This is the first time a movie has captured almost every aspect of my life! 💕
You slayed that red hair ❤❤❤
27:01 nah bro is it only me or the family with all red hair looks like the Weasley's from Harry Potter 😭😭💀💀
Turning red is one of my favorite movies. Thank you for watching it! 😂
Yessss 😊 finally you're reacting to Turning Red ❤
That Holes reference was so funny! I laughed so hard! You look great with red hair 🔥
Girl your singing is awesome I wish I had a voice like you
Turning Red is a really great movie! I love watching other people react to movies that I've already watched because I know what's about to come and they don't! 😂
Well, I recommend watching Soul (2020)! It's such a great movie. I would honestly prepare some tissues newr the end.
Hey queen 💜 as a natural redhead I can confirm you look amazing with that color 😍
Fun fact about priya: pirya is the type of friend that will be there for anything that 👏happen to u and she's lesbian 🏳️🌈and she likes ppl or she wanna have a tail like heard 😆
And also ( ͡❛ ₃ ͡❛) her friends already know she's lesbian so she doesn't have to hide it
AHH IM SO EARLY IM SO HAPPY YOURE REACTING TO THIS MOVIE !! I ABSOLUTELY LOVE YOU & YOUR VIDEOS YOU REALLY MAKE MY DAYS BETTER 😌🥰💕
OMG YOU LOOK SO GOOD WITH RED HAIR EVEN KNOW IT IS FAKE❤
I love the part where you say, “Father, blink twice if your okay…” ❤
I love how Rukiya roasts the annoying characters and just vibes with the rest of the characters and songs
Also the panda represent the blood flows on each of them🌺
this movie made me cry so much because I could relate to it. Being a teen is really hard, I always cry to this movie. It so well made
I love how you always know what to wear for your videos ❤️
This is a really good reaction video and red is totally your color ❤
“Down stairs ally” had me rolling
I have to say, you look good with red hair.
