«Beware of the man who works hard to learn something, learns it, and finds himself no wiser than before. He is full of murderous resentment of people who are ignorant without having come by their ignorance the hard way.» I like it too. Perfect 👍

Thank you , it's the good description of Cat's Cradle. The book isn't only funny, woven from different chapters into one whole like a cat's cradle from ropes. the plot is amuzing, but the same time it makes you think about serious things. I retell in my own words what particularly hooked me: Q. Can humanity avoid deadly consequences, having the experience of past year? A. NO. Q.What is the purpose of human existence? A. Everything must have a purpose?

I read "Cat's cradle" years ago. The book is absolutely not an unambiguous work. I remember that it was a bit difficult for me. But this story seemed to me, a kind of interpretation of the Bible. After watching your review, I will read this book again. I hope I get a clearer picture.

You should definitely give it another shot. I can see why it can be somewhat difficult to follow, but I think that it worth it generally.

The plot is impressive, thanks for the presentation. Definitely worth reading, especially since the modern world is so close to self-destruction. Let the modern Caribbean crisis be resolved peacefully

After reading the book, I wondered why a person often does not think about the consequences? For example, bokonism makes everyone happy, through deception, and people themselves are happy to be deceived. The second example is the impact of Mona 's beauty . Ice-9 also works, which destroyed everything: its creator believed that he was doing something curious and very useful for saving the world without thinking about the consequences…😢 Thank you for the video.

I think deception is somewhat an in-built coping mechanism that we all possess. A lot of times we need a distraction to focus on something else and make life less miserable in the way, or having some purpose. So Mona and religion in those cases helped.
The funny and somewhat bizarre thing is that everyone sort of aware of what is going on but willingly choose the status quo.

when it became clear that no reforms could improve the miserable life of the people, religion became the only way to give them hope and make them happy 😊 like this book , good job 👍

The novel "Cat's Cradle" describes with humor one of the variants of the apocalypse, and man-made (ice-9), and not caused by the arrival of aliens, a collision with an asteroid (we recall recent news) or a variety of natural disasters. And the end of the world humanity suffer from the destruction of the soul, that is worse than a nuclear bomb.

I read the book a long time ago. and I remembered it in addition to the "new religion", two phrases : God loves people with yachts; whatever scientists do, they always get weapons. Good job and great choice

And here is my opinion after reading the book "Cat's Cradle". Who knows that fear is a deadly weapon or the destruction of the soul? A lie is at the head of this world, it is she who rules it, ensures the interests of «the rulers”, creates pleasant illusions for other people.

Let me give you a brief review of the book. The most important thought is that very often the fate of mankind is in the hands of the people who is least fit for it.
