Imagine they added Alan Moore into this, he'd just be banging his head off the table from 3 minutes in.

I've written short stories and now have been encouraged to have one made into a film. Scary but I want to see my characters on screen, speaking out loud.

The thumbnail was a picture of Kurt Vonnegut. It wasn’t make clear I’d have to stomach Bilderberger Charlie Rose to see what Vonnegut had to say.

'Slaughterhouse Five' was slaughtered in the transition, but considering when it was made, I'm surprised that it came out as well as it did. I've seen 'Mother Night', and thought it hewed very close to the author's intent, and yet it is universally panned. I've seen a few snippets of 'Breakfast of Champions', and could tell that the production went astray, but can't really say more than that, in fairness. Given the minimal amount of special effects or CGI that would be required, I'm puzzled as to why 'Cat's Cradle' hasn't been tapped; Netflix wouldn't even have to turn on the propaganda pump for that...

Delillo’s White Noise is made into a movie by Noah Baumbach with Adam Driver, a.o. for Netflix. Maybe if it turns out well, there will be more demand and excitement for more excellent fiction into film adaptations. Vonnegut’s work deserves a good movie adaptation. It needs the right director. Someone like Terry Gilliam could’ve pulled it off.

Sure fire way to kill a masterpiece: turn it into a screenplay ( movie ).

The author needs to discern how much they want to retain otherwise they are just buying POD -- a point of departure... in which case they just want to buy your idea and do whatever they want with it.

They should stop turning novels into movies. TV shows are the proper length to cover a novel, short stories and novellas are the right length for a movie. And you can pretty much summarize that from their conversion.

They should have tossed in Alan Dean Foster for an inverse perspective.
