    We've got the same layout in a 2019. We had QA issues initially (including water leaks) but since then we have had no more issues. We have taken ours down the Gibb River Road, done water crossings, down some 4x4 tracks, etc and it has stood up to the punishment. I agree that maintenance (and preparation) are the key.

    • @turtletrackstravels
      @turtletrackstravels  Рік тому

      Hi guys. Glad it’s able to take the punishment. We are heading West soon and are hoping to do the Gibb at the start of the season 😀

    Such an honest review, we were at the 4x4 camping show in Brisbane this week, no Jayco on display, but what we did find, was massive prices in vans that had a tare, we could not tow, when sales realised we would not be able to guy the 80K+ van, they lost interest in us, the weekend before we went to jayco camperland, we were not harrased, all our questions answered..
    So we want certain things, Aussie made, good warranty, offroad ability, we understand a caravan will not go where our highly modded 120 will go, be we want what you guys are doing, freedom, and the van we want sells new for under 65K, and all we need to add is the same battery combo and inverter you have done, thanks guys we keep coming back to jayco time and again...

    • @turtletrackstravels
      @turtletrackstravels  Рік тому +1

      We did the same, we looked at Jayco ( same place as you),came away and went back several times. We looked at other brands but some were double the price and the quality wasn’t much better, so we headed back to Jayco, got a good deal and the warranty is Australia wide, some brands aren’t. We dealt with Daniel at camper land, great guy 😊

    Hey guys. Watched your vid last night. Thank you for your honesty about your Outback. We have an Outback too and are more than happy with it. Like all vans, we had a few teething problems but they are all sorted now. Biggest concern was storage and weight. Tool box back and front and gas bottles moved forward. Suspension upgrade with at ATM of 3500 kg now and all legal too. Once again thank you for a great vid

    Love the van tour and the honesty with your Jayco. We love our 2021 Jayco Journey Outback 22.68-3 with the single beds. We found like you, very little has gone wrong with it. We went with Jayco after owning a full off road van previously and still had issues, because Jayco have a very large service network and the value for money is very good. We got ours from Brisbane Camperland like you and found the service and handover was very good. Stay safe and make lots of great memories great video and keep up the great work.

    Great to see, we are waiting for our new 2023 Jayco Outback Journey, due to arrive mid April after a long 12 month wait. I know that there have been some upgrades, but the basics remain. So looking forward into getting back into travelling again. Absolutely agree all caravan manufactures have issues, but as you have said and to which I agree, Jayco being the biggest manufacturer in Australia will have its share of customer complaints, but it has the biggest support network across Australia.
    Also love your vehicle! We have a customized Landcruiser Dual Cab as well.

    Hi guys, good to see you are still having fun. Just on living off-grid, is your refridgerator 3-way (gas, 12v, 240v) or 2-way and it has a compressor (12v, 240v). I find using the Compressor Fridge does suck the power out my Battery system when off-grid so I find I must monitor it very closely using a Victron shunt etc.

    • @turtletrackstravels

    Hi Guys great video. We have the same van very happy with it especially for the money we paid from new. Just a question on your invertor. Is it hard wired or do you just plug in to your external power in? If you know what i mean.

  • @philipsimunitsch4054

    Great video. We own a 22ft outback Jayco and love it. Just curious with the inverter, did you plug the lead into the external 240 inlet or did you connect it else where to get 240v into the van

    • @turtletrackstravels
      @turtletrackstravels  Рік тому +1

      We fitted a amphibian box underneath the caravan which runs to the inverter under the bed, we then plug a 15amp lead from the amphibian to the external 240 inlet 😊

      Hi guys, glad to see that you are having fun and keep up the great stories. And watch the floods if you head to the West Coast.
      Just a question on living off-grid, is your Fridge a 3-way (gas, 12v, 240v) or a Compressor type (12v, 240v). I find using my Compressor Fridge while off-grid requires me to monitor Battery usage very closely as the Compressor Fridge sucks the power out of the Battery system (2 x 120AHr Lithiums). I use a Victron Shunt to manage that.

    I’ve had a Jayco, 2010 Discovery, was 3rd owner and only sold it last year for no other reason than we wanted an ensuite van so we upgraded. No Jayco get a lot of complaints but to put it in perspective, they are 2/3 of the market. So let’s say for arguments sake they deliver 1000 vans per week and 5% of them cause a complain, that’s 50 customers complaining per week. Now if you are a smaller low volume manufacturer and you only put out 50 vans per week and you also get 5% of customers complaining that’s only 2.5 complaints per week buzzing around.

    • @turtletrackstravels
      @turtletrackstravels  Рік тому

      Exactly what we said in our video, apart from I said that most companies have 10% complaints….People forget that they sell more then any other brand 😀
