      Amazing! Super happy to hear that. Nemesis is a fav of mine and this new iteration was fun to go through. I put a lot of time into my playthroughs to make them clear and accurate.
      I know what I want to see when I watch a playthrough and there’s a lot of channels out there that disconnect the viewer. For me the viewer is the key and you need to be able to follow the whole thing to get what you need out of it. Glad to hear my flow works for you!

    I see plenty of comments asking about this game not recommended for solo. I tried Nemesis solo and it was kind of lame. Same careful movement, and really just kind of a mid experience for the amount of time required to set it up. I think some reviewer put it really well "Nemesis OG is a great group game that can also be played solo"
    Solo looks better in retalation my only question is that how would it play as true solo? meaning a single character. I know you say you prefer multi handed solo but a lot of us prefer a single player experience. In the future it would be helpful to have playthroughs of the multihanded you prefer but also true solo with a single character being played.

    • @RollingSolo
      @RollingSolo  5 місяців тому +1

      True solo really isn’t the right way to enjoy this game imo. You can do it but dual handed is the sweet spot of fun for this one when playing solo. You need the synergies and ability to do more on your turn. Team effort to survive!

      It's a large campaign and they're also offering previous Nemesis games with it. They're also being honest with people in their projections vs. what most do by saying it'll show up in a year and it takes a bit more. I'd rather have an honest projection and it come early than one that's certainly not going to pan out.

  • @ganjielong

    I cant help but ask…
    1) how much time was spent to play test?
    2) seems corridors can spawn alot of aliens while a room can only spawn one?
    3) the robot doesnt have to roll for noise?
    4) wont the marines shooting, bursting their weapons generate so much noise that the entire alien hive comes?

    • @RollingSolo
      @RollingSolo  11 місяців тому +1

      1. I didn’t design it so don’t know.
      2. Corridors can spawn two hordes of up to four intruders each (currently). The Intruder Onslaught step (event or hazard roll etc) can drop enemies into the rooms. When the onslaught step does one from each horde in the corridor comes in. So it could be up to two.
      3. Nope
      4. Noise is inherent in this one. Built in. You still roll for noise and you can’t use the “buddy system” like in previous versions to go into the same room as another character to avoid a noise roll. Assumption is noise is happening non-stop as this is like the movie Aliens vs Alien.

  • @РомаКогут-л9и
    @РомаКогут-л9и 11 місяців тому +1

    Hello, i have few questions, please.
    1. When you are in the secured room and you roll for noise and resolve the surprise attack - thats mean the allien attack immediately and you remove the secure token or alien just appear and thats all?
    2. On the event cards all the buttom text: "all players resolve and yellow alien icon" - that`s mean that every player need to make a noise roll or resolve the alien surprise attack?
    Thank you in advance. Waiting for the second part of the video.

    • @RollingSolo
      @RollingSolo  11 місяців тому

      You bet!
      #1. The secure token will prevent an attack. You can have up to three in one room too. So they come in real handy.
      #2. I mentioned this in the pinned comment. You’ll find details there.
      Thanks for watching! 😄

    22:00 doesn't the bottom section of the Short Circuit event card mean for characters to resolve a hazard result rather than roll for noise? The icon looks the same as the one that was on the event card that said don't make a noise roll?

    Hi! Great video, thanks. I still have a question: is this a good game for playing solo? I've read some BG groups that they do not recommend it for solo, including the former Nemesis. Thanks!

    • @RollingSolo
      @RollingSolo  11 місяців тому +1

      Yes it is! Designed to be enjoyed at all player counts. Solo included from the ground up.
      I’ve always been very confused by those posts. i believe what they mean is that true solo (one character) isn’t the best. I always play two handed (co-op) when playing solo and it’s a lot of fun. Synergies to use etc. Also, the narrative comic book they do for each game adds another layer to enjoy for solo too.

    If 4 go
    In can 4 more show up then 8 would be there etc ?

    • @RollingSolo
      @RollingSolo  11 місяців тому +1

      You could have two separate hordes up to four each. So as of the current prototype rules 8 could show there and you'd be bursting at them to clear that corridor. 😃

      I want to say this one is a tad easier in terms of rules and would play faster too. The OG Nemesis you need to be tactical at all times or risk getting destroyed. This one allows things to ramp up and it’s a matter of whether you have what it takes to push through it or not. Different vibe. Leans more towards combat. My first impressions anyway.

    The previous two nemesis games have so many moving parts that setting them up is a challenge so the games dont get played as often as they could. The biggest issue with this game is that Awaken Realms added even more fiddlenesss with WAY more moving parts aka more room tiles, more hallways tiles, more set up cards, more minis, more tokens, more tokens, more moving parts, a multi part game board border, etc etc It will make it even harder to set up and play than the original two gamess. RIP

    • @RollingSolo
      @RollingSolo  5 місяців тому +1

      Sorry to hear that! I can understand that view. I personally look at it as an immersive experience when I pull it out. For me, the setup helps set the mood of the adventure to come. There’s Etsy products that can help with tokens and also keeping tokens on minis etc.

    • @Titanicus_
      @Titanicus_ 4 місяці тому +1

      @@RollingSolo all good, the organizers are not the issue. OG Nemesis is 20 rooms, a gamind board and 4 types of tokens
      Retaliation is 25 rooms, a 6 piece gaming board, 20+ hallway tiles, 6+ types of tokens, 3x more minis (horde mechanics) etc etc
      I actually had both OG Nemesis and Retaliation pledge. But after a few days I emailed AR to cancel Retaliation stuff. OG Nemesis is work enough to set up, I dont think dealing with 2-3x the set up effort would work for me.

    I dunno...I'm honestly trying to get myself hyped up about the game, but something seems a bit...off. I've already decided to back it on KS as I'm a major fan of the franchise, but I can't say I'm all thrilled with the direction they've decided to take this time. The gameplay lacks the OG horror element, you get oversaturated with enemies right off the bat, there is no tension buildup whatsoever. To me, it's the survival horror element what made the game exciting in the first place, the fact that you had all these different people stuck in the same scenario, each with a unique set of strengths and weaknesses, doing their best to postpone the inevitable encounter any way they can. I know the idea behind it was to give all characters more power by making them members of a squad and whatnot, but they seem to lack distinctive qualities, based on this gameplay at least.
    I do like a couple of things, tho - the (un)locked doors combo is a great addition to the game, the common objective, the oxygen levels (although this resembles the power element from Lockdown) and the unpredictable map outline, the backpack item order was kind of a wild card tbh, but overall - these are all excellent additions, I just wish they had gone with the same formula as before - take the basic concept and expand upon it, like they did with Lockdown by adding the computer room actions, power outage, contingency tokens, access to different levels via the elevator etc. These were all brilliant additions and I honestly think they could've made an equally satisfying game if they stuck to the same mindset. I'm still looking forward to the game and I'd love to finish the collection regardless of the first impression.
    Overall, I'd give this a solid 6/10 based on what I've seen so far, but I'm looking forward to seeing what's next. :)

    Having watched the rest of the video now, I really like how it keeps a lot of Nemesis' mechanics but has also added enough new stuff or changed things around enough to make the game play differently. Basically turning it into Aliens instead of Alien. =o)
    One question: at 23:51, in original Nemesis a roll which results in a second noise marker getting added would then clear ALL noise markers from around that room before adding any Intruders. Is this changed and you now leave any single noise markers? If it hasn't changed I think the noise marker in the "4" corridor should have been removed as well.

    Not a fan of the jigsaw tiles. They will wear, they will tear. Also the map looks awkward. As a result the game is not quite looker it could have been

      Imperial Assault style would be perfect! My two cents.

      I wonder if laminating them or maybe some type of clear spray? Would make them more resistant 🤷🏻‍♂️
      But I did see in the campaign page they said it’s 1-2mm gap to prevent abrasion

      @@justin__G you can use crazy glue along the edges. You can also use a black acrylic paint marker, which typically absorbs a bit on the edges before drying and stiffening.

    Mentioned this before in another video. Yeah, caffeine is not spelled correctly. They have this issue with their other games. Polish company or not, if you're going to sell things to people, you need to do your due diligence. They need to get an editor. It doesn't look professional.

      This is a prototype however. So it’s a full work in progress. 😉

      It could also be an actual new product/drug by the name of Coffeine. A pure dilution of the caffeine from coffee. Or they just screwed up, who knows?
