This is jaw dropping - absolutely STUNNING omg! I'm Kokomi's English voice actor and I'm such a huge huge fan of your work! This makes me so happy to see you do a video of making a Kokomi dress. I love your creativity so much! TT w TT💙
Its kokomi herself! You are so amazing! Such a shame kokomi wouldnt come home to me on her last rerun BUT NOW I WILL TOTALLY SAVE UP FOR HER THANK YOU FOR YOUR HARD WORK!❤
Shay this is absolutely stunning. We need this as a alt outfit for Kokomi in the game. It looks stunning, and really true to the character, I love how u took your own twist and made it into a dress. Keep up the amazing videos Shay.
@crescentshay You're very welcome, I have been a fan of yours for a while, and to see you do something inspired by Genshin is even better, the best of both worlds. 😊 Can we get someone from Hoyoverse to implement this dress into the game ASAP. But really, it would look sick in Genshin.💙💜❤️💗
I may as well throw away my f2p status then 😂 I loved kokomi but had to skip her for wanderer but if this outfit existed in the game I’d be damn desperate to get her and her fit so bye-bye f2p status 👹
someone who made a genshin themed video without being sponsored by hoyoverse, you have no idea how rare that is and how happy that makes me- someone who actually had a passion for the game! thank you shay- and the dress of course is beautiful :)
You are right about the videos, but otherwise there is a lot of cosplayers that do make the costumes without being sponsored :3 it's just a bit hard to find and usually buried on instagram
I'm not sure if these were sponsored, but KamuiCosplays here on UA-cam has made incredible Beidou and Yelan cosplays, as well as other cosplays like Monster Hunter outfits!
This, im always a little disappointed when i click on a video by a creator i like about genshin and its sponsored. Not because i dislike the content, but they always feel different
As a huge fan of yours and a huge genshin fangirl, this dress was EVERYTHING. And the 10 pull at the end!?!?!??! Oh my god?!?!?! I really hope to see more of your genshin endeavors down the line, because this blew me away!
This was absolutely stunning! As a genshin addict myself I loved how elegant and pretty you redesigned some parts of Kokomi's outfit I wish this was her actual character design ;-;
This technique is so beautiful and i really want to try it on canvas and do an entire painting with the same materials just a canvas instead of the silk. As a painter I'm always watching these videos and telling myself to try new things and branch out. This dying technique reminds me of watercolor. Your dress turned out absolutely phenomenal and I could see them giving the character an alternate outfit with the long gown if even just in an opening scene or chapter screen.
Genshin has the most detailed as hell characters, hoyoverse in general actually. So the fact you’ve made at least 2 completely homemade, very accurate cosplays is jaw dropping and applause worthy.
I love the advice on how to translate somewhat impossible anime looks into a beautiful costume! I also LOVE Genshin but I’m not comfortable showing as much skin as a lot of the characters have on display - and also a lot of their costumes just straight up don’t make sense if you know how clothes work! I’d love to see more of this part of your process - the translation/design phase! Also fun cosplays would be awesome to see, even if you maybe do them as shorter/easier to edit videos?
I NEVER make anything near this ... but your ingenuity - hard work - creativity -perseverance - willingness to show the fails - story-telling just fantastic !!! and of course your magnificent finished result -chef's kiss!!!!! So inspiring !!!!
Your dresses are so beautiful!! Thank you for sharing your stunning work. Your creativity is incredibly inspiring and you inspired me to make my own dresses!
I admire your silk painting process! I also silk paint some of the clothes I sew using the cold batik technique, but cook up my own gutta, and use very thin glass applicators. Have a few projects on my UA-cam account demonstrating this technique. It's very similar to water colors just more nerve wrecking! My latest project was painting a hemp dress. Wonderful Job!
Okay, 1st of all, this is drop dead STUNNING! I am obsessed with everything Genshin, and I love Kokomi! Your take on the dress was so pretty, it gives me vibes of how elegant she truly is. 2nd thing, i would love to see more Genshin content on ur channel! From that short clip of Nilou, genshin content would be top notch. Also, gg on ur Neuvillette!!!!
This is so GOREGOUS. As a fellow Kokomi stan this was so wonderful to watch. You put so much care and craft into this and all from a vision you had in your head. It's beautiful it's stunning it's KOKOMI.
the whole process was so fun to watch because you looked so happy working on it despite the tiring loads of works it required, and ofcourse the DRESS IS BEAUTIFUL! the make up and the accessories are immaculate and you pulled that whole look so beautifully 💙 ps. also not you calling neuvi tall kokomi I CANT XD
I don't even have time to play Genshin lately and I have the dexerity of duck flippers when it comes to sewing, but I had to subscribe because of your joy and your "tall Kokomi" comment loll. I'm speechless and here for all your amazing work!
For old timey dresses that used to drag on the ground & were hard to wash, they'd add a strip of fabric on the inside that you could remove & replace. That might be an option if you are going to do more photo shoots outdoors & you don't want to ruin the bottom of your dresses. If this is new info for you, check out old gowns at museums to see how wide they did the semi-disposable inside skirt liner. Beautiful dress. It's fun to try new techniques.
You are honestly such an inspiration. With every video, my admiration for your devotion and creativity rises :D I love how you show not just your successful tries, but also parts where you may have struggled. Really gives me the confidence to go more crazy with my own projects
Such a wonderful cosplay! I personally fell out of love with Genshin this year but I will always love Kokomi and your rendition of her does so much justice!
The cosplay is so stunning and beautiful, I love Kokomi so much! And your reaction to getting Neuvillete was so cute congratulations on getting him too
This is so pretty!!! you did really well and i asolutly love your version of kokomi's outift, its so beautiful!! The time and effort the silk painting took must have been insane, i work with water colors on pre-prepped canvas so can only imagin doing that gradient that well on fabric. I love the colors!!!! they turned out so vibrant!!! and i completely understand the californian summer weather. also congrats on getting Neuvilette!!
this is absolutely STUNNING it's so beautiful! as a fellow kokomi lover you captured her energy so well 💙 personally i'd love to see your passion project cosplays too, seeing someone really invested in something is really fun to watch even when i don't know the material sometimes! your nilou is stunning too!
Oh my goodness, that is absolutely gorgeous! You look amazing as Kokomi, and that dress turned out so well! The silk painting is flawless as well, and the final photo shoot was marvelous! You did an amazing job ^^
The cosplay is GORGEOUS and the process was very fun and fascinating! Hope to see more because I wish to learn to sew and make cosplay or even clothes. It would be awesome.
This is a really lovely cosplay and the silk painting on the second try? Amazing. RIP on the spray paint looking better than the more 'professional' technique but when it looks good, it looks good. I also did an ugly out loud snort at "I got Tall Kokomi!"
Wow, beautiful dress, and mad respect for how much hard work you put into it! I thought watching you hand paint the fabric on your hand-made wood stretchers was very inspiring.
Hyperfixation cosplays, passion project cosplays, and cosplays that make the person creating it super happy and excited are my favorite cosplays to watch! I love seeing all the love and detail being poured into them and the special touches that make them unique to the creator! I would love love LOVE to see more of your hyperfixation cosplays! 😄💚💚
I love the fact that you take the time to make sure that you respect where the origins of the dresses/outfits came from and you do the research on it 😊
Wooow the dress is stunninkkk! Yaaaay Neuvilette! I pulled him on a random “let’s give it a go why not” tooooo, like, second pull or smt, right after I already pulled Kazuha om the other banner. And now he’s my main ❤❤ looove Neuvi
Kokomi is my favorite character in genshin as well, im currently making a magical version of her outfit and its my 2nd time cosplaying her. AND OMG I LOVE YOUR INTERPRETATION OF IT!!! It's my favorite kokomi cosplay ever, I would love to make it myself one day and play around with painting silk too 🥺

I have like so many ideas for genshin dresses but never make them cause i don't even know how to draw them.... but i'm really happy that you can acually make your beautiful imagination into something realistic! Keep going Shay! GO GET SCARA FOR ME!
Absolutely gorgeous! Honestly if I had to nitpick the only thing I wish you incorporated is an obi belt to give it the a better kimono look but overall this is pretty af.
i've never done anything as complex as this, but i get what you mean about being nervous. i have to constantly remind myself that it's just fabric, it's not the end of the world. but it feels like it!!!
This dress is so pretty! I don’t play Genshin mostly because of the sheer size of the game is intimidating enough, but I honestly love your outfit design waaaaay more than the original. It’s so elegant and pretty; an utter masterpiece of your skills and dedication ❤

7:08 her: with an rice cooker!
*for some reason, you can hear distant screaming from a man wearing an orange polo shirt*
HAIYAAA
me still not over the fact that she used a RICE COOKER- TO STEAM A DRESS- as an Asian . . . I think this is the height of creativity- just- Yes. Yes.

i was thinking the same thing that it reminded me of watercolors then actual ink paintings. it sorta reminds of hanging scroll paintings
It makes sense that Kokomo wouldn’t have a dress because she’s a strategist for an army LOL she’s gotta be able to move. BUT THIS IS SO PRETTY
“kokomi”
To be fair, most of the characters outfits make no sense, but here they are. I dont think her original outfit makes much sense either.
