Chessdawg is a great UA-camr probably one of my favorites his videos are so instructional

I agree he is good, but “instructional” isn’t really a compliment. Like saying a Corvette is my favorite sports car, it cranks every time I put the key in it. Okay, but what else do you REALLY like about it?

You have a nice annotation style. I have been trying to learn chess since the 70s. I would go through lots of old games and not realize half of what was going on.

I’m far far from an expert but noticed White played a few rather unusual moves for a GM during the mid game….
The art of War applied to Chess:
Attack when your enemy is asleep 😴
@8:55sec All of Magnus’s pawns are asleep at their base. 😮😮😮
White had an open field to attack… and retreat to defend!!!!
    K & 2 B attack king side n Q come in for the kill…

  • @yogi9631

    Great Chanel.
    Running Commentary as I watch.
Right in the middle of crucial mid game battle. 2 powerful units of White are restrained from development/attack.
    1. W Knight taking the pawn at 6:06sec seems the be the worse move of the whole game..
    2. Cause both the white knight n Queen are restricted by the black bishop ….
    3. W knight can’t take black bishop cuz it’s protecting the queen..
    My 2 cents worth ..
    Continuing to watch…

@8:12sec wonder what Magnus would play if W Knight to E4!!?? Cuz that’s a free development move to white as B Bishop can’t take W knight.

White's first 10 moves looks like how Magnus used to play. I wonder if this was due to a Norwegian style of chess or if it was Agdestein's influence.

  • @patpowers9210
    @patpowers9210 Місяць тому +1

Agdestain's development was so freaking weak in that game: just his queen developed while Magnus had practically all of his pieces out... it kind felt like Agdestain handed Magnus that game.

My only negative feedback on your videos is the quality of audio, it's so low. Only the headphone users can hear you, but for a speaker user like me, it's very annoying that I have to turn my speakers to the max and I can still barely hear you.

This game is the most embarrassing and awkward (for Agdestein) GM game I have EVER seen! He played the opening worse than my Great Grandmother who didn't even know how the pieces move, and did not date Steinitz or Morphy in her hayday. I think even she could have beat him without any trouble.
