I was a beta tester, (open beta.) and it’s a very fun game! Especially because we are getting quality of life updates and houses. The towns are awsome to explore, as well.

RE: The Combat. The game has a Tab-Targeting and an Action Camera mode. Different people like different ones, tho it tends to be some Classes like Action Better. For ME (a hundred hours on KR) with some simple Hot-Key changes, the combat feels AMAZINGLY like ArcheAge Combat (which I loved dearly).

Free to play is a dealbreaker for me. I think this business model has done so much harm to the gaming industry. How it has shifted focus from delivering a fun experience with interesting progression to molding a game around a digital store. Every action and every system there in some part with the intent of making you spend money.

I too am an MMO lover for some reason i just live these types of games. I tend to play wow a ton but still look for others to dabble in as well. I played a bit of New World and it ended up losing me, however even though I'm not a big PvPer I'm still going to give this a go as well as the PvP in the game (I generally such at it lol but who knows). I love your message at the end as well, so heartfelt and inspiring. I too am a male with mental health issues (BiPolar 2) and found out the same about my T as you did. I'm medicated for my bipolar and know it's not for everyone and not everyone needs that, i did and it's helped tremendously. I'm also on a shot to get my T to the right spot. All this had helped incredibly and i thought i was too young for low T but it's become a way more common issue these days than most men want to admit. I'm very open about these issues myself as well because like you i think it should be talked about so others know they're not alone and it's not as uncommon as some think. The coolest mechanic of this game is the use of morphs into animals as opposed to mounts. Plus having different types like flying land based is cool, I’m wondering if there are underwater types.

You have a new channel? Interesting. As for T&L I personally did not enjoy the beta as much as I hoped. Mostly because it was heavily pushed toward PvP and I hated the P2W feel as of it. I didn’t like the Alpha either. However that was just my stance. There were many unique aspects that made it somewhat enjoyable. Hopefully they fixed the controller layout/keybindings so that you can set it up better to your liking. For example I didn’t like having LT/L1 as the Transform key and unable to change it to my light atk or heavy atk.
They actually said the first new weapon is coming to the Korean version in December during their latest livestream Q&A. People are guessing it will be spear.
Im having a blast playing. Im not an mmorpg hopper so i havnt played a lot of em. PWI, Aion, guild wars 2, Archage, Black Desert and now Throne and Liberty. Love how it feels on xsx. When world is huge, im in love with the weather system, she character looks and the combat so far.
I get real tired of this jaded "we're supporting the game" view on microtransactions. We are not supporting the game. We are supporting the suits and execs and investors to buy yachts and vacation in the bahamas. Video games dont need exponential growth in order to be maintained. Arguably, once a game is MADE, the cost of funding its service drops dramatically. God forbid they end services and now all your money is wasted. You'll never convince me that microtransactions in games are good for the players.
From the perspective of free to play, mtx are needed to keep the game going. Sure the suits get some, but it does keep a game alive. I do see your points though.

I would like to see something like tome, totem, and relic or something and use those weapon classes as buffers bringing in more of what brought L2 to life. In L2, if you played you know, there were a handful of classes that if you saw on the battlefield you would focus, not because of their damage but because of the utility they provided through buffs, namely you had Prophet, Swordsinger, Bladedancer, and Warcryer. The classes were heavily focused on support but all had their own damage and survivability which I think would work well with how weapon skills work in Thrones of Liberty.
that was the problem of L2, those classes were not self-sufficient and nobody wants to play solely as a support class, make classes self-sufficient in L2 and that would be the formula for the best MMO, or at least bring back the Olympiad system, it was such a gem😢

Free usually means GRIIIIIIIIIIINNNNNNDDD. That's what I've always hated most about online games. 'Oh, you want to build your house? You need 4000 stone, 6000 wood, 10 000 gold and a 5 purple crystals.' 'What's that? Home decorations? Sure, 5000 to 100 000 silver. Where can you get silver? You have to buy it with real money on the online store.'

I spent three full days playing (I'm retired). To be truthful, the game is fun to play, but I cannot stand games that are pay-to-win. I watched Diablo immortal become the most degusting game I've ever seen with their over monetization tactics and I'm not interested in playing another game like that. So, I guess I'll wait 6 months or so to see if the game changes. I would not be opposed to a season pass model to even out the playing field for all players as this gives players a choice, but using just transactional monetization as the main way to advance toward end game character builds, nope not interested. Also, I've been a gamer for 40 years. Back in the days before Everquest almost all games were played solo, and I still love playing solo. A lot of PvP in this game is another turnoff for me. Excellent review.
@twofarg0ne763 just play solo games then or ff14, not all mmo's need to be the same, choose mmo to your taste. Mmo without pvp doesn't feel right, then just play single-player or coop games. You want to be challenged a have a feeling that your new items for which you grind so much matters.
With limited amount of mmos at console disposal I actually bought the early access. I want to play asap. If I like it, then great. If not, I'm out for less than a triple A title.
I can't on PS5, but I can on Xbox and steam. So it has nothing to do with legal stuff like the lootbox laws in the Netherlands. Looked everywhere online but can't find a reason.. So I'll go for Xbox I guess
I played til endgame on hyperboost server. Sfx and particle effects are great but mechanically it feels like an outdated tab-target system. Ik there's a market for that but it's not for me.
After playing early access you might not feel any more gratified tbh. The combat changes is a lot more build craft and skill related. There's more skill modification now which allows more build craft but if you're not sold on combat then buildcraft probably won't matter to you
My biggest thing when doing a new MMO is what will I get for future updates? How long will it take? Usually I find when these new MMO come out there isn't any "end game". I'm definitely going to try it but if there's a pay to win cash shop its a big nope.
The only sellable gear in the game has to be crafted with great success..... You can sell traits from gear you acquire anywhere and Marin's and Stallo materials..... Gear drops in open world and an instance dungeons cannot be put on auction.... But can extract traits to sell
It does look interesting and ive enjoyed the points you've made. I think I'll give it a go one day. I think MMOs are in a really good state at the moment. Lotro has Legacy of morgoth coming out one day soon and the legendary servers are going well. New World has got the aternum update with consoles coming in. Plus I hop on FF online and GW2 from time to time for further group content.

auction only unlocked at level 50 they put new region they dropping another one another world boss they dropped new dungeosn they are dropping 12 player raids and new weapons they fixed the combat twice already this game is trying to please the players i love it i think this could be the first good mmo in a while
The sad part for me is that you cannot "walk" . Your character has to run every time you move the thumbstick. Breaks emersion for me :( please patch devs

I'm disappointed in the controller setup in this game atm. It's janky. The directional buttons don't work most the time but at least they have a temporary (hopefully) fix; you can long press the LS button for a few seconds and a curser pops up that you can use to interact with the inventory and other menus.
I wish I could I’ll prob have to play on Xbox… I played like 10 minutes and my cpu was mid 90 degrees the whole time… only way I could get my cpu temp to a decent one the graphics weren’t to great… my laptops really not a crap one either… it’s played everything good until I tried TL
I'm getting New World on xbox because I'm more interested in playing with an "invested" playerbase with less risk of hanging MTX and troll accounts. I may give this a shot at some point just to see how it goes.
This feels like a mixture of lost ark and new world, personally I think new world is amazing and has great potential. It just lacks correct leadership. That being said, while playing this it made me want to return to lost ark or new world. The UI and HUD looks almost identical to the other 2 Amazon games. I just don’t see anything significantly different. I was not impressed at the moment .
It looks great but the trailer makes me not want to play it. I love MMOs but I don't like MMOs that push the multiplayer achievements to do events or get the best gear. I can't stand the raids in Destiny 2 as an example. But I do like the Dungeons like in wow. I bought New World A. but will try to give this a chance if it's free.

I love your videos just a few quick notes. PvP is not optional at all. This game is going to be very pay to win. Also I really hope it doesn't go the way eastern release did as it is already dead because of zerg guilds merging smaller ones into them.
I played FF14 for over a decade but I am tired of the game. I tried so many MMOs to replace is GW2, WoW, ESO, BDO and so many more. None filled the gap. The closest were GW2 & WoW but both lacked the depth FF14 has. WoW is the oldest MMO with no housing and main content is story, dungeon and raid after 20 years... GW2 was great but the community is small and I was forced to play on PC. This game at Korean launch was bad from what I understand and they drastically changed that in under 1 year...Every other MMO I've mentioned has existed for 5+ years and still haven't resolved the major issues people have complained about since day 1 and if they have it took them years.

@@gingerlovesmmos bro, it's so hard, honestly, not just because i miss her but also because i, even a year later, can't stop blaming myself and going through things i could have done better in my life. I've been coming to terms with the fact that, at 36, i've lived my life imagining like i'm at fault for a lot of things and should be blamed and punished for them, it's really weird. I actually tried pretty hard while she was alive to have a good relationship with her, we even worked on an opera project together (she was a singer). That said, it made me realize just how much gaming has in a way helped me in life cope with overwhelming emotions when i couldn't take my focus on them, i could go into different worlds and just not overthink all the crap. Sometimes i saw it as a curse that I started gaming so young (7), but all in all i think i've received a lot through it, and am now even running my own yt channel as you maybe already saw (lol vidiq extension is good). One thing I'm having a real struggle with is that i qualified as a yoga teacher early december last year but i haven't used it to get a job or find clients to teach/ coach. I thought youtube would also make more money, cause i heard it can be up to 20 bucks for 1k views, but it's more like 2 bucks lol. Yeah, a lot of sh!% to sort out in my life r now. Good you actually care about people dude, I'm thinking working in something kinda similar to some of my vids now.
Yeah on the UA-cam numbers it is no where near $20 for me ether, I think my avg year over year is around $5-$6 per 1000 views. But man to man, work on forgiving yourself, she wouldn’t want you beating up on yourself, use that and turn it into a positive, carry your mom with you in your heart and never give up, you’ll honor your mom that way and hopefully free you from the past. For me as a Christian, the devils power is in the past and future, trying to keep people looking back and asking “what if” so focus on the now, take some risks and give yourself some grace and if you need any help just let me know

Thanks dude and while I’ve been doing this a while, this year has only strengthened my resolve. Unfortunately my wife went to school with two guys and they aren’t with us anymore. They where in their mid-30s and it just reminded me about my struggles and thus if I can save a life by sharing my love of games 😊

I spent three full days playing (I'm retired). To be truthful, the game is fun to play, but I cannot stand games that are pay-to-win. I watched Diablo immortal become the most degusting game I've ever seen with their over monetization tactics and I'm not interested in playing another game like that. So, I guess I'll wait 6 months or so to see if the game changes. I would not be opposed to a season pass model to even out the playing field for all players as this gives players a choice, but using just transactional monetization as the main way to advance toward end game character builds, nope not interested. Also, I've been a gamer for 40 years. Back in the days before Everquest almost all games were played solo, and I still love playing solo. A lot of PvP in this game is another turnoff for me. Excellent review.

@twofarg0ne763 just play solo games then or ff14, not all mmo's need to be the same, choose mmo to your taste. Mmo without pvp doesn't feel right, then just play single-player or coop games.
You want to be challenged a have a feeling that your new items for which you grind so much matters.
With limited amount of mmos at console disposal I actually bought the early access. I want to play asap. If I like it, then great. If not, I'm out for less than a triple A title.

I can't on PS5, but I can on Xbox and steam. So it has nothing to do with legal stuff like the lootbox laws in the Netherlands. Looked everywhere online but can't find a reason.. So I'll go for Xbox I guess

I really didn't like the combat when I played the beta. I know they made some more adjustments so I'll give it a shot, but not expecting much.
I played til endgame on hyperboost server. Sfx and particle effects are great but mechanically it feels like an outdated tab-target system. Ik there's a market for that but it's not for me.
After playing early access you might not feel any more gratified tbh. The combat changes is a lot more build craft and skill related. There's more skill modification now which allows more build craft but if you're not sold on combat then buildcraft probably won't matter to you

Why can’t I find a video on how the crafting works and if it’s p2w. Saw it was good in the past but can’t find anything on current state.
Sometimes the content takes a bit, there is real value in rushing it but for me I’m just taking it easy and will roll out content as best I can

My biggest thing when doing a new MMO is what will I get for future updates? How long will it take? Usually I find when these new MMO come out there isn't any "end game". I'm definitely going to try it but if there's a pay to win cash shop its a big nope.
there is pay to progress/pay to win mechanics. people will just argue that its easy for a ftp to catch up if they spend like 5 hours a day grinding XD

The only sellable gear in the game has to be crafted with great success..... You can sell traits from gear you acquire anywhere and Marin's and Stallo materials..... Gear drops in open world and an instance dungeons cannot be put on auction.... But can extract traits to sell
It does look interesting and ive enjoyed the points you've made. I think I'll give it a go one day. I think MMOs are in a really good state at the moment. Lotro has Legacy of morgoth coming out one day soon and the legendary servers are going well. New World has got the aternum update with consoles coming in.
Plus I hop on FF online and GW2 from time to time for further group content.

auction only unlocked at level 50 they put new region they dropping another one another world boss they dropped new dungeosn they are dropping 12 player raids and new weapons they fixed the combat twice already this game is trying to please the players i love it i think this could be the first good mmo in a while

The sad part for me is that you cannot "walk" . Your character has to run every time you move the thumbstick. Breaks emersion for me :( please patch devs

That's troubling that an MMO works with a controller. Sounds extremely limiting.

I'm disappointed in the controller setup in this game atm. It's janky. The directional buttons don't work most the time but at least they have a temporary (hopefully) fix; you can long press the LS button for a few seconds and a curser pops up that you can use to interact with the inventory and other menus.

that's not even gatekeeping. That's just every mmo in general with classes
there is a group finder for most content, pve isnt as hard as lost ark so should be fine.
I wish I could I’ll prob have to play on Xbox… I played like 10 minutes and my cpu was mid 90 degrees the whole time… only way I could get my cpu temp to a decent one the graphics weren’t to great… my laptops really not a crap one either… it’s played everything good until I tried TL

This feels like a mixture of lost ark and new world, personally I think new world is amazing and has great potential. It just lacks correct leadership. That being said, while playing this it made me want to return to lost ark or new world. The UI and HUD looks almost identical to the other 2 Amazon games. I just don’t see anything significantly different. I was not impressed at the moment .

It looks great but the trailer makes me not want to play it. I love MMOs but I don't like MMOs that push the multiplayer achievements to do events or get the best gear. I can't stand the raids in Destiny 2 as an example. But I do like the Dungeons like in wow. I bought New World A. but will try to give this a chance if it's free.

Dude, yeah single patenting can feel exhausting for sure. Just remember to put your oxygen mask on first as it can help sometimes with the hard days. But I hope you find joy in this adventure
I love your videos just a few quick notes. PvP is not optional at all. This game is going to be very pay to win. Also I really hope it doesn't go the way eastern release did as it is already dead because of zerg guilds merging smaller ones into them.

I played FF14 for over a decade but I am tired of the game. I tried so many MMOs to replace is GW2, WoW, ESO, BDO and so many more. None filled the gap. The closest were GW2 & WoW but both lacked the depth FF14 has. WoW is the oldest MMO with no housing and main content is story, dungeon and raid after 20 years...
GW2 was great but the community is small and I was forced to play on PC.
This game at Korean launch was bad from what I understand and they drastically changed that in under 1 year...Every other MMO I've mentioned has existed for 5+ years and still haven't resolved the major issues people have complained about since day 1 and if they have it took them years.
FF14 might as well not have housing with the way they set it up

@@gingerlovesmmos bro, it's so hard, honestly, not just because i miss her but also because i, even a year later, can't stop blaming myself and going through things i could have done better in my life.
I've been coming to terms with the fact that, at 36, i've lived my life imagining like i'm at fault for a lot of things and should be blamed and punished for them, it's really weird.
I actually tried pretty hard while she was alive to have a good relationship with her, we even worked on an opera project together (she was a singer).
That said, it made me realize just how much gaming has in a way helped me in life cope with overwhelming emotions when i couldn't take my focus on them, i could go into different worlds and just not overthink all the crap.
Sometimes i saw it as a curse that I started gaming so young (7), but all in all i think i've received a lot through it, and am now even running my own yt channel as you maybe already saw (lol vidiq extension is good).
One thing I'm having a real struggle with is that i qualified as a yoga teacher early december last year but i haven't used it to get a job or find clients to teach/ coach.
I thought youtube would also make more money, cause i heard it can be up to 20 bucks for 1k views, but it's more like 2 bucks lol. Yeah, a lot of sh!% to sort out in my life r now.

Yeah on the UA-cam numbers it is no where near $20 for me ether, I think my avg year over year is around $5-$6 per 1000 views.
But man to man, work on forgiving yourself, she wouldn’t want you beating up on yourself, use that and turn it into a positive, carry your mom with you in your heart and never give up, you’ll honor your mom that way and hopefully free you from the past. For me as a Christian, the devils power is in the past and future, trying to keep people looking back and asking “what if” so focus on the now, take some risks and give yourself some grace and if you need any help just let me know
