I hate it when people assume others are drowning in debt simply because they have credit cards! Credit cards, when used responsibly, are excellent tools for building credit and earning rewards on purchases that you would have made anyway. That doesn't include the protection benefits, introductory offers, and other perks that are attached to the majority of them, making them even more enticing. Awesome video, bud!! 🔥
Haha I know exactly! I definitely wanted to stay away from them before but once I started to see all the benefits the decision to use them became easy! Thanks Dayana 👍
It really is unfortunate that the "you're drowning in credit card debt just by having credit cards, so do not get them" narrative has stuck in society's mind so effectively. It kept me away from credit cards for a long time and once i learned the truth i was really bothered that i had stayed away for so long because like you said, when used correctly/responsibly, they are a great tool for building credit history (as credit score is heavily reliant on amount, types, and utilization of credit accounts) and they provide amazing benefits on spending you're already doing. For me, getting the Capital One Savor card was so eye opening because it's giving me 3-4% back on dining, entertainment, streaming and grocery stores, which is nearly 100% of what i spend my money on outside of rent and bills. And just this month when i got the card they added complimentary Uber One for a year and 10% (!!!!) back on Uber/Uber Eats which is HUGE for me. Planning to add either the Capital One Venture or Venture X next for the Bifecta.
I have 7 credit cards at almost 26, but i'm looking forward to 2023 so that I can complete both the chase trifecta and also the capital one duo. Thanks for making this video! I remembering you telling me that your first credit card was the Wells Fargo Credit card, and mine was too!
I used to be afraid of credit cards after taking Dave Ramsey's financial peace class. Now I'm beginning to get drawn into the credit card world. I just got my second credit card, the Chase freedom flex, at age 35. I plan to keep getting more credit cards to maximize rewards and take advantage of sign up bonuses.
Love hearing about people's credit card journey's and how they've optimized their setup over time to get the best multipliers, while continuing to look out for high welcome bonuses and accumulating credit card points, to get loads of value. Love that you've kept your 1st credit card open, to keep your avg age of accounts high. Like you said, sooo many people assume that having a bunch of credit cards is a bad thing, and indicates that you have a bunch of debt, which is simply not true, because you can have a lot of credit cards but have specific use cases with each of them, and continue to be responsible with them. Great video as always Daniel!
Thanks Matt!! Yeah my situation for having so many cards is a lot different than the people that get them for spending into further debt. It's just a tool for building credit and collecting points for me though! As long as anyone spends within their normal habits then swapping a debit card for a credit card is the best thing to do 👍
I have 10 cards. My first one was a Bank of America cash rewards card that I no longer have because I was young, irresponsible, and knew nothing about credit. I maxed the card out and wasn’t paying on it, probably about 8-12 months of consecutive missed payments, and the closed my account. Now I’m completely debt free and know how to use credit cards responsibly. I’m 27 btw
If you can use a credit card just like a debit card and pay it off on-time and in-full every month, there's NO reason to not use them! As you mentioned, the amount of rewards you've earned from using a credit card rather than your debit card is pretty insane... and everyone can do the same! I think the big misconception around credit cards is that getting multiple of them will hurt your credit score, but that couldn't be further from the truth. As long as you're a responsible consumer, you may as well use credit cards and travel the world for free!! Thanks for sharing your personal experience Daniel! Another great one as always.
Thanks so much Spencer! Yeah I'm glad that my opinion on credit cards changed over time because they're such a great tool for building credit and traveling for free when used responsibly!
@@SpencerJohnsonOfficial Haha time is the only difference between you and me man! I had a 1 year head start and you're already ahead of me at the same time this point last year!
At 22 years old, here’s my current credit portfolio with opening dates: Discover- October 2018 (I applied the day after I turned 18) Deserve EDU - January 2019 Capital One Journey (it has since been upgraded to the quicksilver) - May 2019 Bank of America customized cash - July 2019 Apple Card - August 2019 Chase Freedom Unlimited - October 2021 Delta Skymiles Amex Gold - December 2022 I’d like to go for one of the chase sapphires soon but I’m not sure how long I should wait for trying to apply.
My first card was what’s now called the U.S. Bank Cash+ card (formerly FlexPerks Cash Rewards or something like that). It wasn’t until around a year ago when I started traveling that I realized I should get a travel-focused card, so I ended up with the CSP, and it was around that time that I discovered this UA-cam channel as well as many other similar ones. Now I’m up to 4 cards and looking to add more next year.
Thanks so much for sharing that Andy! So glad that you were able to find my UA-cam channel and some other similar ones here - sounds like you're off to a good start with the CSP!
Two months after turning 18 I got my first card, the WF Student Cash Back (Oct 2019) that eventually got discontinued so I got automatically upgraded to the Active Cash in Oct 2021 which was honestly so perfect (came with a CLI too). In Nov 2020, I wanted to make an expensive Amazon purchase and that $150 SUB sounded too good to pass up. So the Chase Amazon Rewards became my 2nd card. Now it’s April 2023 and I finally got a 3rd card about 2 weeks ago, the Citi Custom Cash (current spending habits will have me using it on dining). I’m planning on getting two more after the summer (AMEX BCE & CFF). Reason for waiting is to complete the Citi SUB and a summer bonus on my Amazon card is gonna have me exclusively using it until the end of July.
Hey Daniel! Thanks for sharing your entire credit card journey up until now! I love these sorts of videos as the credit cards you get along the way helps tell a story about how your personal preferences change and your overall spending strategy as you look to the future! This was such a fun video to watch and learn about you more. Thanks for being such an inspiration and a great role model in the credit card space!
Hey Stan thanks so much man! I really appreciate the support for my channel over the past year so it's fun to share this stuff when people wanna watch! Cool to see your strategy that comes across from your videos too 👍
Got my first CC at age 18, I am currently 20 with 5 CC and a Credit Score of 762 I mostly love the cash back 1. Discover 2. Apple CC 3. Wells Fargo’s active card 4. Citi Custom Card 5. Chase freedom unlimited
As a 24 y/o, w/a full time job, 750 credit score, and doing alright over all. I got my first credit card at 18, the wellsfargo student card like you did! Let me tell you, everyone was against getting a credit card from the start. Had to fight and fight for this. Funny enough it took me a solid year to trust using credit cards (old tale of being poor blah blah). I upgraded to cash back a year ago. Now I'm searching for the second credit card to travel and get points off my uber eats addiction! Not sure whether to get the American Express Gold card vs. Chase freedome card. Maybe I'll get both!
Thanks for sharing Audrey! Those are 2 great cards to look into getting, the Freedom Flex is easy to recommend with no annual fee. The Amex Gold could be great if the credits work well for you too! Thanks again
Absolutely, I've earned so many points and a ton of cash back too from these cards with my spending and sign up bonuses! Literally free money when used responsibly!
Curious, I noticed you mentioned you got your first Amex and Amex gold card in 2021 however your Amex card had you being a member since 2018. From my understanding you only had the 2 credit cards.
That's really quite a collection Danny. Just make sure you charge something on them every now and then to avoid your card getting cancelled and/or your credit limit being decreased. The question is, do you have any cards that you feel are worthless at this point and you can't downgrade?
Thank so much Scott! Yeah exactly, that's why I wanted to mention that with my first card because that gets used the least for me. I still make sure to use that and every other card at least once every 6-12 months so that they don't get closed for inactivity! But as of right now I'd say that all of these cards are providing value to me that I wouldn't downgrade any - I might be switching out the Platinum for the Schwab Platinum very soon though
I just turned 18 years old and I applied for the Discover It Student and for the Chase Student Freedom and I got approved for both! That makes me very happy.
Just started my credit card journey this past July with the Quicksilver, as a student I'm kicking myself for not getting the Student Quicksilver with the new CapitalOne and Uber deal with free 24 months UberOne and 10% back on any Uber purchases. In the near future, would love to get the Hilton Surpass for hotels and Amex Gold and/or Sapphire Preferred for flights but I heard the Chase portal can be more expensive than regular priced flights so I'm leaning more towards Amex Gold; not sure what would be the 3rd card to round out. Been loving your videos recently as they have been educational and enjoyable to watch!
1. Wells fargo active cash, 2. Chase freedom, 3. Chase freedom unlimited, 4. Chase Sapphire Preferred, 5. Chase Ink Business 6. Amex Gold, 7. Amex Platinum 8. Blue Business, 9. Chase Ink Unlimited, 10. Marriott Boundless, 11. World of Hyatt 13. Citi Custom Cash, 14. Amazon Prime Business Card lol i definitely missed some BUT I love your videos so much!
I have 3 credit cards right now, with my first being the discover student card. I just got accepted for the chase freedom flex a few days ago, and I plan on getting the chase trifecta someday. Thanks for all your help and advice! Been watching your channel for a few months now
I actually just got my first credit card at age 21. I did so much research before hand and am also a business student so I always wanted to be able to know everything about every credit card before even thinking about getting one. Again, I also am a first generation and so all the thoughts I had on credit cards where that they were bad and not good and terrible and shouldn’t be in my possession. Anyways, my first card was actually the Chase sapphire preferred!! And now that I’m learning more on the chase trifecta I actually want the freedom unlimited card to be my next one in like 6 months lol. My goal is I want to travel and I want to see the world so, that would really help.
Surprised the Citi Double Cash isn’t in the mix out of the cards, especially with the very rare $200 welcome bonus on that. I see you have the Wells Fargo equivalent, but I couldn’t see myself giving them my business.
Yeah the Active Cash is only there because I upgraded to it from my very first card, although I would probably have gotten the Double Cash over it under normal circumstances. I'm not a fan of Wells Fargo anymore so I like that Citi was offering that limited time bonus on the Double Cash - hopefully that becomes a permanent thing!
I just turned 21 and celebrated with my 8th credit card and 750 score. Don’t listen to what others say. If you do it right and are doing it for your future you’re doing it right. Others won’t understand. 💪
Nice video Daniel! It's funny how the Chase 5/24 tends to dictate our credit card application behavior. I know for me, I'm waiting to drop below 5/24 before I apply for my next personal card. 🤑
Thanks Josh! Yeah It's always something I'm considering but I'm honestly glad to be above 5/24 and plan to be for a while now! But definitely a big part of the credit card game for anyone
I started the game late (March of this year!)... at 39... but I had a 830 credit score and along with my wife, we have been able to accumulate 677k points off 3 credit cards each! We have a few Hyatt Hotel stays booked and a trip to Mexico City in business class (total of 60k round trip in United through miles and smiles program) this truly is an awesome hobby!
Currently have: 10 bank issued credit cards 5 Retail credit cards 2 Business credit cards 2 Personal lines of credit Very happy with my choices so far!
Nice, that's great to hear! Yeah exactly right, as long as credit cards are used responsibly as a substitute for a debit card then they can have a TON of benefits!
Excellent portfolio of credit cards Daniel. I’m about to get the Chase Ink Business Cash credit card and I’m stoked to be able to get the welcome offer for such a great card. I’m not sure I’ll ever have 14 credit cards total, but time will tell 😅. I currently have 5 credit cards and the CIBC will be my 6th.
I got the Discover It credit card as my first one! Great first card for me! I've loved it and now 6 years later I have a $20,000+ limit on it! Great for my credit utilization!
@@IIIIIIIIIIIIII8 Always pay your bill on time, keep Utilization reported to the credit bureaus low, but spend a lot on your card. This may mean that you pay your card 2x in a month. Then every 6 months I request a credit line increase where I report increasing income. They gave me usually $1000-$2500 increases every time!
I’m 19, from Austria and I love to travel♥️ Since I’m 18 I’m interested in Credit Cards, so now I have 9 Credit Cards and I’m using a lot of them😎 I have one American Express Platinum, 4 VISA Cards (including the Hilton Credit Card) and 4 Mastercards (including Lufthansa and Austrian Miles and More Gold Card).
My first credit card was the discover IT card. My second Amex gold and then Amex delta gold. My current plan is to get the venture x next and then get the chase freedom flex and chase sapphire preferred. And that will put me at 5/24. This set up should allow me to minimal effective annual fee while maximizing points.
My first card was the Chase Hess Visa, to help with gas prices--5% cash back at Hess stations. Almost 19 years ago. I had no clue about which cards to look for and my mother was adamantly against credit cards for the negative reasons you mentioned. It's since been PC'ed into a Chase Freedom. Great videos--I'm a big fan!
TBH, you kinda pushed me into having cards. Credit cards was a forbidden grey area for me but when i was earning money and navigating adult life, businesses down to phone lines are biased for credit card holders. I also thought about the credit history and what their basis will be. So yeah, i caved and now I have one that I can manage while still utilizing points earning. Thank you so much because i learned a lot from you!
Could you make a video maybe explaining you're picks for the order in which you should get credit cards? Now that you have all this experience and knowledge would you do it any differently than you listed in this video?
My first card was actually the prime visa from chase! I now have 4 cards with plans for 2 more in the immediate future to complete the chase trifecta and to earn points on my rent from BILT
Great video man! I have 12 cards currently. Definitely an Amex guy. We recently took a trip to Singapore on Singapore airlines in business class all covered by points. Also stayed at the Westin there, all covered by Marriott points. I tell people credit cards are the cheat code. Also, I’m also a Penn state grad and in philly too. We Are and Go birds!!
Nice! And I totally agree, it's amazing how much cool free travel like that is possible with the right strategy in place. Love to hear from another Penn State/Philly guy! We Are and Go Birds right back to you haha
@@Daniel_Braun for sure! I’ve been teaching a lot of my friends and family about how powerfully credit cards can be. Many of them have been hesitant for the same reasons you mentioned at the beginning of the video.
@@jeffyjoseph2505 Yeah it's really common for people to not get it at first like how I looked at credit cards. But it's really just a matter of putting in some time to learn! Glad to hear you're helping spread the message
Found your video super helpful since I'm thinking of getting my 6th credit card at 25. Might start getting a business card. Also coming from the insurance industry. I got my first credit card under my dad while in college. It was a citi thankyou preferred. It's my oldest card. Discover wouldn't even offer me a card at that time.😅
great video. I couldn't help noticing that your Amex Gold card says that you are an Amex member since '18 (2018). Does that mean you had an American Express in 2018, because you hadn't mentioned it (or were you an AU?)
Good eye! Other people noticed that as well - I forgot to mention that I had an Amex corporate card with my first job that I got back in 2018. So that was when I opened my Amex account, but later that corporate card was removed when I left my job
I used to be like this but after a while it gets annoying having all these credit cards. I ended up closing most of them once I got my mortgage and keeping only the best cards.
My credit score is a 758, no late or missed payments, no collections or debt, always pay my balance every month. I was just approved for the American Express Blue Cash Everyday but my credit limit is only 2000. Lol I'm guessing it's because of my credit history being only 1.5 years. I was expecting at least like 5000.
The only thing that concerns me with the Amex Gold and Sapphire is that you can’t downgrade them to a $0 annual fee card if you’re not seeing value. Either you cancel them or downgrade to the Green which is still $150. I feel like Amex should let you downgrade to the Every Day card despite it not being a charge card.
You can downgrade the Sapphire cards to the Freedom cards - but yeah you can't downgrade the Gold card to a no annual fee one which is too bad. Maybe in the future they'll introduce a no annual fee card in that family of products, but definitely something to consider when getting the Amex Gold!
I've got 9 at 22, and I can see maybe 3 more in the path that I would go after. All of them are working for me decently well, just have to get things settled in.
Hey daniel, really enjoyed this video! I also started with the wells fargo college card as my first card that got upgraded to the active cash card about two years ago. I now have the amex gold and the active cash but Im thinking about upgrading the active cash to the autograph card because of its solid multipliers. I also want to apply for the capitol one venture x as a catch all card and travel card. Any suggestions on this set up?
Good eye for seeing that! Actually I don't know why for sure, but I believe that it's because I had to open a corporate Amex credit card back in 2018. My first personal Amex was that Gold card in 2020, but I guess I can say that I was technically an Amex customer since 2018 now haha
I have 4 CC: Well Fargo Amex Propel, Amex Plat, Amex Blue Cash and Sony Comenity. Loving the videos they are really helpful. I am looking at adding my last CC either Amex Gold or CSP. I feel I already have a lot of Amex but the gold points can bank with the Plat but I like some of the travel partners like Hyatt for CSP. I want points for groceries. Really torn b/n the two
I find the chase trifecta good if you want a variety of transfers partners to use your points on. Otherwise for me it made more sense to get the United explorer card over the CSP due to its many perks such free checked bag, priority boarding, TSA pre heck/Global entry credit, & two annual Lounge passes. Plus I live near a United hub so I mostly fly with them. The BILT card pairs nicely with having any United card too since they’re one of the transfer partners.
Thanks for the credit card journey! It really helps hearing someones thought process behind the actions. Just starting mine. Keep up the great vids and congrats!
Thanks so much for watching Licia! I love being able to share my journey, and best of luck with yours! Let me know if there's ever any other videos that you'd like to see
Hey Daniel! Love the videos. I also have a huge amount of cards even though I don't really use all of them. My first card was that same Wells Fargo card as well! So I have: Random: 1. Wells Fargo 2. Best Buy 3. Rooms to Go 4. Citi Double Cash Chase: 5. Freedom 6. Freedom Unlimited 7. Sapphire Reserve 8. Amazon Prime 9. Business Unlimited 10. Business Preferred Amex: 11. Blue Business 12. Personal Gold 13. Business Platinum 14. Delta I plan to add the Business Cash card next and then honestly not sure what to go for after that, would love to hear your thoughts on this!
Hey Mason, awesome breakdown of your cards - thanks so much for sharing! Lots of great ones already in there so you've got a lot of things covered already it looks like. I'd say you can't go wrong with the Citi Custom Cash at some point soon too because the flexibility around how that card earns 5% makes it a good card to fill gaps in anyone's setup
@@Daniel_Braun thanks for the reply man! I may need to check that out. I just love the points earning part of it as opposed to cash back. I saw you have both the Marriott and Hyatt card, do you think I should hit those up?
@@masondillard4327 Anytime - thanks for watching my content! Yeah I get that - luckily the Custom Cash does earn Citi Points. So if you got the Citi Premier card then you can transfer those points to partner programs for travel. For the Marriott and Hilton cards they can be good for the free night every year but I probably won't use them too much for spending. If there's a good sign up bonus for them then it could be worth it though!
Yesssss! I’m considering the 150,000 sign up offer for the Amex platinum but just can’t justify the $700/yr fee, not many of the credits I actually use.
I have 19 at 29!! Hahahaa while I own all of them and use it for rewards etc I had a serious talk with myself the other day... Like, "what are you actually doing??" 😂😂 Which I think is good! Because I really needed to get clarity on the actual goal again because at some point I felt like I was just getting new cards for the sake of getting cards and having a larger spending power.
Got my first in the 2016 like you, it was two cards BOA and secured WF in the same time. I wax 35 yo, but I was a visitor/tourist no ssn no credit score😅 Today I have 18 (eighteen) credit cards and combined 400k points I do not collect points but spend it just to fly in February I get more than 400k points from AMEX business platinum 250k and united business 150k. The funny fact I just recently I got new special offer from AMEX for second AMEX Business Platinum with 250k welcome bonus, and I will accept it. The perks for this card much better than amex personal platinum. Credits 400$ dell, 120$ wifi, 200$ flight fees cover annual fee.
Awesome to hear all of that - thanks so much for sharing! I like the Amex Business Platinum and have been considering it for my business eventually. I might get it sometime in the future too!

Hey daniel, do you know if your able to product change the freedom flex to the old freedom? I ask because I know it’s a visa and I would like to use it at Costco since they only accept visa ?
That's quite the impressive card portfolio Dan! I know you're a fan of Hyatt and Marriot, but have you looked into the Hilton Aspire card? The airline and resort benefits plus a free night each year are pretty powerful
Currently have 4 credit cards my first one was the BB&T Spectrum Cash rewards card (now Truist Spectrum Cash rewards card and it’s closed to new applicants)
Thanks for watching! And I'm not really sure, I like the card that I have right now but will still continue applying mostly for sign up bonuses. I may eventually rotate to a cash back setup way into the future - but right now I just like having my credit card points pay for my travel!
My credit card journey as a 25 year old: Wells Fargo student credit 2016 (upgraded in 2018) Costco Citi card 2019 Apple Card 2022 Chase Freedom Flex 2023 Chase Sapphire Preferred 2023 I’m going to continue the Chase trifecta and optimizing my points and spending.
At age 46, I’m relatively late (or new) to the credit card game. CCs were considered “bad” and discouraged. My ex-wife took out a CC in my name when I was 35 & I still have it to this day, as my oldest CC (upgrade, with a higher credit limit). Now, I currently have 10. I have several more targeted within the next 2 years. I’ll restart my quest as soon as I’m out of Chase jail 😂 My cards are…. 1) Capital One Venture (upgraded) 2) Chase SWA Priority (upgraded) 3) AMEX Gold Card 4) JPM/Chase Ritz Carlton (upgraded) 5) Chase United Club (upgraded) 6) AMEX Platinum. 7) Citi AAdvantage Executive. 8) Chase Air Canada Aeroplan. 9) AMEX Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant. 10) Navy Federal Visa.
I hear this all the time from people lol When people hear that I never use cash or use a debit card they only think of debt and I have a huge spending problem. No one ever understands how to use credit cards. It is simple. Use the credit card like a debit card. It is simple as that. But to be honest I would say 95% of people are fine with debit card because they would not be able to control themselves. People see huge credit lines and think buy things you cannot afford and pay later with interest. I have large credit lines on some of my cards and it scares my friends when I tell them. I always use my credit to my advantage. I have not paid interest fees in years since I joined the credit card game. Credit cards are just too much for most people to handle to be honest. I always say use your credit to your advantage not the banks. If you can get cashback, welcome bonuses, points, or 0% offers then do it.
I completely agree with you! Using a credit card as a substitute for a debit card is the right way to look at it. I've never looked at it as borrowing money, it's my money when I'm using on the credit card - but most people don't look at it that way. But you're right, for those that don't have that mindset then they should stick to debit. It all depends on the person, but it's why I don't ever try to push credit cards to my friends and family - they need to be the ones to first come to me to explain that they understand how the system works. Thanks so much for watching and commenting, I liked reading that!
I have 2 cards. The same wells Fargo one as you that I have had since 2018 (started as a student and upgraded) and the Amex platinum that I got in august this year. I don't have to pay fees since I am in the military so I am thinking of getting the gold next. I don't want to have many more cards because I feel like it would be hard to balance all of the different reward systems (since Amex by itself is something I don't even know if I can take full advantage of).
Hey Anthony, hope all is well with you too!! Awesome to hear, we're right at 14 together haha - good that you've still got credit card number 1 open as well 👍
2 weeks ago, I got the Amazon Visa credit card for the gift card. HOWEVER, I had unknowingly been building credit through PayPal credit for a few years now, which is awesome. I also went ahead and nabbed myself the Freedom Unlimited(this one I got today actually) and AMEX Gold card. I'm basically trying to make up for lost time by applying to as many (quality)cards as I can. Sure my score will take a hit but playing the long game here.
🥴 i have 18 and counting. I’m glad I’m not the only one 😂. I just get so many benefits from my cards and it helps my credit score along with my other lines of credit.
Awesome video! My first card was from a local bank with a $500 limit when i was a senior in high school. I made the mistake of closing it out when i joined the military and got a credit card from the credit union. Ive been in for 3 years now i have the amex trifecta and a credit score of 750 with a credit age of about 1.5 years and a limit of $2,500 because the gold and platinum are charge cards😂

As long as anyone spends within their normal habits then swapping a debit card for a credit card is the best thing to do 👍
Sup Matt!!
@@winnermindsetyoutube What's up bro!
@@MattWelterOfficial you're making progress 💪🏻
@@winnermindsetyoutube Appreciate it bro! Thanks for your support!
I have 5 at 20 started when I turned 18! Just got the chase sapphire preferred!
I’m 27 btw
Love to hear that you've come a long way and are doing well with credit and debt free! Thanks for watching Stevie
@@Daniel_Braun Absolutely man! Also, preemptively congrats on 50k subs!! I know you'll hit it soon after this video. Keep grindin!
Thanks! Haha yeah hopefully sometime this weekend it’ll pass 50k so onto 100k next!
@@Daniel_Braun You're well on your way. 5k next over here! Just gotta divide your numbers by 10 or so 😉
@@SpencerJohnsonOfficial Haha time is the only difference between you and me man! I had a 1 year head start and you're already ahead of me at the same time this point last year!
At 22 years old, here’s my current credit portfolio with opening dates:
Discover- October 2018 (I applied the day after I turned 18)
Deserve EDU - January 2019
Capital One Journey (it has since been upgraded to the quicksilver) - May 2019
Bank of America customized cash - July 2019
Apple Card - August 2019
Chase Freedom Unlimited - October 2021
Delta Skymiles Amex Gold - December 2022
I’d like to go for one of the chase sapphires soon but I’m not sure how long I should wait for trying to apply.
Bro you’re almost at 50k subs that’s insane man I was just following you when you were slightly below 7k subs. Blowing up so fast. Much love bro
@Dio Titus Hey Dio! Doing well, thanks. Of course! Glad that you liked the suggestion.
Hey Stan thanks so much man! I really appreciate the support for my channel over the past year so it's fun to share this stuff when people wanna watch! Cool to see your strategy that comes across from your videos too 👍
Got my first CC at age 18, I am currently 20 with 5 CC and a Credit Score of 762 I mostly love the cash back
1. Discover
2. Apple CC
3. Wells Fargo’s active card
4. Citi Custom Card
5. Chase freedom unlimited
How often did you open a new cc?
Daniel is more focused and mature than most 50+ year old guys I see.
Ever since i found this channe ive been binging all your videos, Cant wait to watch as many as possible!
Thank you so much for binging my content! That is so cool for me to hear - let me know if you ever have any video ideas that you'd like me to make!
Capital One Savor for Uber! 10% cash back right now. Plus a free Uber one membership via statement credits.
Premiere bank master credit card 2018. Costco citi bank 2020.. now I have 6 .. thank you I learned from you ❤️🙏
The travel or cashback that comes with all those cards builds up so much over time, especially with all the great sign up bonuses with the cards!
Absolutely, I've earned so many points and a ton of cash back too from these cards with my spending and sign up bonuses! Literally free money when used responsibly!
50K special soon? Great vid Daniel!
Haha maybe I should do something for that! I'll definitely be doing something for 100k subs! Thanks so much for watching Jeiber
Curious, I noticed you mentioned you got your first Amex and Amex gold card in 2021 however your Amex card had you being a member since 2018. From my understanding you only had the 2 credit cards.
Super informative vid!
I also have 14 credit cards at age 27, my first was Secured Credit Card from BofA
Oooo I miss the DMV area 😿That's one thing about metal cards, it got me into the game of credit cards too.
A really cool area! Haha yeah metal cards were so cool to me when I first got one!
I just got my 2nd CC, Freedom Flex and I’m super excited to go grocery shopping
Chase Ink Business
6. Amex Gold, 7. Amex Platinum
8. Blue Business, 9. Chase Ink Unlimited, 10. Marriott Boundless, 11. World of Hyatt
13. Citi Custom Cash, 14. Amazon Prime Business Card
lol i definitely missed some BUT I love your videos so much!
Thanks for sharing Gisela! Glad to hear that you're looking to use credit cards the right way to be able to travel! Thanks for watching
1. Capital One (Secured)
Capital One QuickSilver One (Unsecured)
2. Premier Bank
3. Milestone Bank
4. Credit One
Credit Score 641
I started the game late (March of this year!)... at 39... but I had a 830 credit score and along with my wife, we have been able to accumulate 677k points off 3 credit cards each! We have a few Hyatt Hotel stays booked and a trip to Mexico City in business class (total of 60k round trip in United through miles and smiles program) this truly is an awesome hobby!
Currently have:
10 bank issued credit cards
5 Retail credit cards
2 Business credit cards
2 Personal lines of credit
Very happy with my choices so far!
That's awesome and sounds like a really good mix you've got!
I have 10 but have no debt and just use them all for points cause I love to use them to travel not hard just gotta be responsible basically.
Nice, that's great to hear! Yeah exactly right, as long as credit cards are used responsibly as a substitute for a debit card then they can have a TON of benefits!
I now have 7 credit cards, my first one was the same as yours: that basic 1x everything Wells Fargo card.
Nice, yeah that seems like it was a pretty common one for a lot of people to start with! Thanks for sharing Elando!
Thank CJ, appreciate it! Awesome to hear that you're looking at that card next too - awesome sign up bonus going on for it right now!
I got the Discover It credit card as my first one! Great first card for me! I've loved it and now 6 years later I have a $20,000+ limit on it! Great for my credit utilization!
How do you get the limit up?
@@IIIIIIIIIIIIII8 Always pay your bill on time, keep Utilization reported to the credit bureaus low, but spend a lot on your card. This may mean that you pay your card 2x in a month. Then every 6 months I request a credit line increase where I report increasing income. They gave me usually $1000-$2500 increases every time!
I’m 19, from Austria and I love to travel♥️
Since I’m 18 I’m interested in Credit Cards, so now I have 9 Credit Cards and I’m using a lot of them😎
I have one American Express Platinum, 4 VISA Cards (including the Hilton Credit Card) and 4 Mastercards (including Lufthansa and Austrian Miles and More Gold Card).
Thanks for watching and sharing your cards Roland! Great setup you have!
Discover It Student card was my first card. I now have 5 credit cards.
Thanks for sharing Jacob! Great first card!
Good content and overview. Nice to hear about your journey. Good use of visuals all around. Well done, Daniel!
Thanks so much for that John, I really appreciate the good feedback! Thanks for watching too!
I hate being stuck with old cards you dont use anymore but your younger, less knowledgeable, self got. Mine being the boa travel card
Haha I hear ya! At least you can just keep it open for the credit age!
I have 19 cards at 24. Saved me a lot of money.

Found your video super helpful since I'm thinking of getting my 6th credit card at 25. Might start getting a business card. Also coming from the insurance industry.
I got my first credit card under my dad while in college. It was a citi thankyou preferred. It's my oldest card. Discover wouldn't even offer me a card at that time.😅
I love to hear that, thanks for watching! And thanks for sharing about your credit cards!
great video.
Lol
I'm guessing it's because of my credit history being only 1.5 years. I was expecting at least like 5000.
You'll definitely get approved for higher limits as your history increases! Thanks so much for sharing!
I've been watching for a while but this video made me subscribe- great content! I really appreciate you sharing your journey.
Currently have 5 cards. My first credit card was from Core States, that became Wachovia and then Wells Fargo.
Nice, thanks for sharing! What's your most used card now would you say?
@@Daniel_Braun it’s tied between my Blue Cash Preferred and Freedom Unlimited.
Love it Daniel!
Your Amex says member since 2018 but you stated gold in 2020 & platinum in 2021. Authorized user?
Really torn b/n the two
Dave Ramsey is furious over all this free travel you're getting.
Oh yeah he probably would hate me if I told him how many credit cards I have - even if I'm sticking to my budget and spend very little!

Do it! The sign up offer is 100% worth it, just cancel it after the 1st year.

I refuse to go down the path of annual fees, yeah I’ll get some small perks but my main goal is to build credit
That's quite the impressive card portfolio Dan! I know you're a fan of Hyatt and Marriot, but have you looked into the Hilton Aspire card? The airline and resort benefits plus a free night each year are pretty powerful
Another great video daniel

Nice, thanks for sharing that!
Nice cards, Daniel 😊 Whats ur end game of collection of cards?
Thanks for watching! And I'm not really sure, I like the card that I have right now but will still continue applying mostly for sign up bonuses. I may eventually rotate to a cash back setup way into the future - but right now I just like having my credit card points pay for my travel!
I have 5 credit cards. My first card was the Capital One Platinum Card
Nice, that's a very popular card to get at the start - thanks for sharing!
I have 13 credit cards, my first credit card ever was my Family First Credit Union Credit Card. It’s about 5 years old!
My credit card journey as a 25 year old:

Costco Citi card 2019

Chase Freedom Flex 2023
Chase Sapphire Preferred 2023
I’m going to continue the Chase trifecta and optimizing my points and spending.
At age 46, I’m relatively late (or new) to the credit card game. CCs were considered “bad” and discouraged. 8) Chase Air Canada Aeroplan.
9) AMEX Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant.
10) Navy Federal Visa.

I got 10 at 26. I’m almost to you 😎
You might catch up to me! Haha - but 10 at 26 is great, that's basically what I was at earlier this year at 26 too
Can you touch on how, over a 10+ year period, the bonus points and credits will outweigh how much you've spent in annual fees over that time?
Yeah I actually think that's a really interesting topic to cover in a video - I'll add that to my video idea list! Thanks Devin!
@@Daniel_Braun thank you!!
From Q1 2023 Plutus will lanch in the US. Its a 3-8% cashback card. As a EU citizen I highly recommend it 👌
I hear this all the time from people lol When people hear that I never use cash or use a debit card they only think of debt and I have a huge spending problem.
Great video! Very informative. The Applecard is my favorite.
Penn State alum here also! #WeAre
We are!! Small world, cool to hear that you went there as well. That's why I always like to mention Penn State in some videos haha
Hey Daniel! Hope all is well. I’m sitting at 14 cards, and my first card (still have it) was a local credit union visa.
I started with the capital one platinum card, I started with a $200 limit.
🥴 i have 18 and counting. I’m glad I’m not the only one 😂. I just get so many benefits from my cards and it helps my credit score along with my other lines of credit.
Haha I'll be right up there at 18 cards soon enough too. Don't worry, you're not alone!
Thanks for sharing Jake! Great to hear that you've got a great score and some awesome cards like that
The Amex Platinum doesn’t charge you annual fee if you’re an active military member
Can I get 365 World of Hyatt cards and just live in a Hyatt hotel for $34,675 per year?
