Thunder max especially if you plan on doing your build in phases. If you have to retune your bike multiple times getting the thunder max pays for itself

@@ThomasTrevino-f4q you definitely get a pinned comment, Thomas! 👊🏼 great point and something I didn’t think to mention.
And this is applicable to a lot of us! We get these Harley’s and upgrade them in stages.
For a lot of people, financially it’s difficult to do a full build all at once. With a ThunderMax, you can save even more money down the road if you’re planning to build in stages.
Thanks for calling that out! 👊🏼🤘🏼

@@MichaelBertiniyes but u still gotta have a professional tune the bike no matter which direction u go.
I’ve always had PV. But just had a different cam and pipe put on my 2023 RG.. 124 etc ..
The shop that did that .. who I plan to use for any further motor work.. solid Indy shop with a long history and great reputation (Dragos Bike Works.. currently running as Bone Breaker Performance.. same shop same program same ppl working there .. the cousin bought the shop).. anyway ..
They love thunder max. It’s what they’re best with
So I took the plunge and got one.
Looking forward to them installing it and tuning it up.
What I like is that I ride all over .. all year.. so that wide band being able to make adjustments for air temps and shit .. that’s a plus for me.
Ppl think TM is an auto tuner .. it kinda is.. but best practice is have a professional tune it and they can have it set to adjust within a certain window to account for temp and elevation changes.

@ yes, to get the max out of a ThunderMax you would want to get your bike tuned by a professional who suits a custom map to you and dyno’s the Harley.
That’s the most ideal situation for those looking to get every HP and TQ out of their bikes. Great callout, Gerald. 👊🏼

Yeah, I noticed a couple big builders and tuners like the impact over the new thunder max but I think they’re both really good just that the impact is $500 more.. i’ll wait to see what dyno jet does it will be a lot cheaper

@@robertfagan8833 yeah, I’ll need to test one on my own before deciding, but for now, ThunderMax remains the gold standard on all fronts.
I’m sure DynoJet will try to acquire Impact Wiring Solutions once they feel the need, or they’ll just work on developing their own solution.
I’ve been using their products for years and they’re great, but a lot of that comes with having a great tuner as well.
I’m fortunate to have Chris over at Blockhead Moto, but I’ve heard horror stories about some other tuners out there.
In my case scenario, ThunderMax is the safest and best option for my needs, and in my opinion, for most DIY Harley-Davidson mechanics. 😅🤘🏼

I have been hearing Impact Wiring Solutions ECU is a better tuner

    • @MichaelBertini
      @MichaelBertini  9 днів тому

@@bryanbrakeman3033 I’ve heard that too, but everyone who’s mentioned it to me heard it from another person.
I’ll try to get on someone’s bike who has one. To me though, at the moment, ThunderMax is the gold standard.
It’s too easy to install for all that it offers. I’ve barely scratched the surface on what can be done with it.
Elsie rode with me today and was like - “the bike feels so much more powerful”.
But I do wanna try the one from Impact Wiring Solutions at some point to compare the two. 🤘🏼

    Never experienced target tune huh?

@@slelliott14 I haven’t, but I met some a Bike Week who had an issue with the 02 sensor going bad twice. Do you have any experience with Target Tune? Do you like it?
