VA used to be the perfect state to live in, but as more and more Federal contract employees move into northern VA, they have turned the state Blue, which has led to a higher cost of living overall, higher taxes (such as personal property taxes for land, home, and vehicles), more anti small business and right-to-work regulations, and a huge spike in crime across the state thanks to catch-and-release programs and early release of violent criminals who have had their voting rights restored (who in turn vote for soft-on-crime and anti Second Amendment policies). In Fairfax County, for example, most noise regulations have been eliminated, resulting in endless parades of deafening motorcycles and cars racing through communities daily, into the night until the early hours of the morning. We have a Lt. Gov accused of multiple rapes, and a State DA convicted of statutory rape.

What nonsense. Notice that when people talk about how good VA is they are not mentioning any of Trump country. Its a tale of two states, the blue zones have the money and amenities and the red zones are poor and now full of fentanyl addicts. After 20 years of budget deficits from the GOP and barely any major road improvements we are finally getting work done.

@@madisonankofski6596 look at the crime rates of short pump. Henrico County borders Richmond. Richmond is the Capital not Henrico and Short Pump is about as far from Richmond border you can get.
Yeah, I'm surprised too. It is a great area too and quite busy!
@@timothymoore6341 Yeah that it is! I do love all of the West end though!!
There’s No place in Va like the Shenandoah Valley the most beautiful place in the state rich history the Blue ridge, Appalachians and the Massanutten so much to do and see . Great place to call Home .
Virginia Beach looks nicer than I had imagined as a big city. Didn’t know much about this region.
As long as you don’t want to drive down the strip, more than once per night. Make a circle, and you get a ticket. And make sure you are not near the beach, when all the rappers come to town. They do that once a year. The had a big shoot out last year. Basically, don’t live near, or go to the beach, and you will love living in Va. Beach.
I live 4 blocks from the oceanfront! Very safe and friendly place to live. However, rental rates are much higher than this video cited! Lots more to do also. If you're an outdoor person, you will love it here!
@@threepointservices-tractor4832 What? I live in the 757 I drive the strip 4 times before no tickets what are you talking about?🤔
@@AllAmericaMuscle It used to be that way. I don't go to the beach much anymore so it might have changed. But I remember those days.
VA Beach is a shithole
I love Virginia
was looking for a video more on the nicest sticks locations with acreage in virginia, 30mins out from big towns. Got any videos for people wanting to live in quiet more private virginia locations?
@Darklore. Check out the cities of Chesapeake and Suffolk. Both have city centers and rural parts.
Check out the towns of Amherst and Bedford and the counties of the same name. The "World According To Briggs", on UA-cam, named Amherst as the number one town for retiring or buying a house!
Leesburg, Middleburg, Winchester are suggested.
What about Loudoun county Chantilly??
Ok whoever made video from northern part of Va..ain't no way them other cities above Virginia Beach
Don't Forget The Crime In Richmond
So where do u recommend ?
They really made Richmond seem great. None of it was true.
@@suzangeissler1461 SO WHERE TF DO U RECOMMEND TO LIVE?! Exactly stfu
You Got That Right ✅
@@MrSodaBelly Churchill for one while u being extra smh.
You can’t find a decent house in VA Beach under 400k or a rental under $1900
Blacksburg, ashburn needs to be on this list
Try the New River Valley friend
always there will be love for Virgnia
Live along 95 corridor from dc to VA beach if you want money, all others if you wanna settle down
Wow mazing
The prettiest car drive is the colonial parkway. Etween jsmextiwn and Williamsburg
where you live at in Richmond for 900 dollars at a roach motel
PackAndGo pack and go get some research done first, those are my thoughts. Have a good day.
Bon Air is in Richmond VA and Chesterfield VA, a suburb in Richmond. I feel Short Pump is better to live in than Bon Air.
Bon Air is an area in Chesterfield County, it is not a part of the city of Richmond. Chesterfield is a county but you are correct on it being a suburb though.
5:00 that’s not even America let alone Falls Church
Lmao I couldn't believe what I was seeing
Yea I was wondering what part of falls church that was
@@joshuajavier5484 they probably typed Vienna but didn’t realize it was Vienna Austria.
Nice place and venue😀
McClean? Great Falls?
You need a truckload of money to live in either of these places. $$$$$$$$$$$
I live in Timberlake, just outside of Lynchburg and it's a great area. Bedford is not bad, and Tappahannock is ok. Just my opinion
Wow ! Wow ! innovation.
Virginia is amazing city
I was thinking relocating my to Virginia for a fresh start. Any ideas on to where is safe for raising children? I have a lot of experience in the Healthcare field and my husband manufacturing experience.
Hampton Roads (VA beach, Chesapeake, Norfolk,, and several more) is a big military area and we have a lot of health care. You just have to watch what areas you move to.
Most of Virginia is safe and family-friendly, and there are lots of jobs in healthcare and manufacturing, currently a labor shortage. I'm a big fan of the Shenandoah Valley area and think most of the cities there are good and getting better and yet still have affordable housing, good land, beautiful views and friendly people.
Virginia is a much more laid back State and where you might wanna move if you're in any densely populated area. I LOVE VIRGINIA... God bless!
Henrico or chesterfield are good areas however crime is EVERYWHERE do your research
Oakton, VA but it is on the expensive side.
how is cave spring?
Sux
I live in Virginia and close to the Northern Virginia places listed and they look nothing like the pictures posted and are overrated.
1. Damascus
2. Abingdon
3. Honaker
Two Virginia cities that are obviously rich in history are Powhatan and Pocahontas, Virginia
Lots of history in Abingdon Virginia but a person might want to check out cost of living before moving there
Mount Vernon is nowhere near Falls Church and Falls Church has a ton of traffic just like Vienna does.
U should come to Harrisonburg Va 👻
I don’t believe this is totally correct I live in Southwest Virginia all my life but two years , and there are some nice places to live I live in Bristol it’s a good small town also the county part is too and even Abingdon , Va is better . Maybe do a video on the best Southwest Va towns
I love Arlington it is a very wonderful place
Very beautiful 😍❤
I thought it was 9 best places not 9 best cities . Ive lived in virginia all my life none of the best places were discussed in this video
Where is the best place?
no Alexandria?
Houses are extremely small in Arlington in certain apartments,
It is glorious so glorious great glorious glorious glorious to be great glorious glorious glorious America.
Have you ever been to Richmond Virginia? The traffic, the one-way roads and the crime is terrible.
Virginia Beach- Yes. Awesome place to be in!
Williamsburg- Has a lot of museums. If you like learning about history you should visit.
Richmond- Yes. Has many fun places to go to.
Charlottesville- Has lots of cool and fun places to go to. It's one of my favorite places to visit!
Falls Church- Haven't been there.
Vienna- Haven't been there.
Falls Church is nice
@@stinkeye460 I'm so sorry for your loss but please don't blame all of the crime on one race.
@@LunaPlaysThis I’m not. But when you see constantly on the news and in your city how they behave like animals, especially against their own, you realize what a threat they are to everyone. It’s not their race but their culture that is screwed up. Would you feel safe walking through a black neighborhood unarmed?
@@stinkeye460 Yes, I would feel safe. I respect your opinion but my point is that not all blacks are bad. If a white man had killed a black woman's son and the woman assumed all white people were cruel murderers, how would that make you feel?
@@LunaPlaysThis I agree not all blacks are criminals, but as a percentage of the population they commit the most blue collar and violent crimes. Several of my doctors are black and the few black teachers I had growing up were superb. It was a black man that gave me my start in life. Years ago i was the first jeweler in Virginia to have a black woman as a manager. I also trained a young black man to be a goldsmith and goldsmiths can be notorious petty thieves no mater what race they are. It isn't the color of your skin that defines you but the results of the culture you are a part of. All people have the ability to decide what path they take in life, too many lacks in this country choose the wrong one.
Anywhere in NoVa is shit. Starbucks, Whole Foods, and Prius drivers with coexist stickers driving slow in every lane while texting on their phones.
Very beautiful country like that his name
Only someone under 30 would want to live in Arlington. Ugh.
What about the thousands of single-family homes priced above $800,000 that are out of the reach of most humans under 30?

dats a fucking cap maybe just for me in Newport news al we got is shipyard and military

@Larry Anthony You're so right!
It used be good place to live in northern Va.
totally agree with everything you have mentioned. moved to VA (Leesburg) in 2000 and can see a difference of what the state, and Loudoun county has become in the recent years. moving out of Loudoun in the next few month to end the madness...
We’re red now woohooo
yep - dont forget all of the illegals with drivers licenses voting for commie blue policies.
What nonsense. I have lived in NoVA for 45 years and taxes on homes have barely increased over the last 25 years while the values are way way up because we adjust the tax rate to keep the yearly costs in check.
Fairfax and Alexandria are way way better than Richmond
Roanoke needed to be on this list. Too many cities close to DC/Richmond.
