Jasmine will ALWAYS be that girl….PERIOD! It baffles me how some people like to bash her( because she’s older now😳), like WTF! Everyone( if lucky enough) will be eventually. She’s still a beautiful person, & she should always be given her respect. ❤️❤️❤️
I love that she remembers the choreo from "School Daze". She still very beautiful and immensely talented. Thank You Ms. Guy!! You gave us so much and showed us that our talents should be on display in spite of television and movies lack of diversity in the 90s . ❤
Don't forget she was also on Vampire Diaries. She is a legend. PERIOD. A triple threat. We remember her album her song, "Try Me"...much respect to her. Much love as well.
A Different World was my absolute favorite show in the 90's. I just couldn't ask for a perfect show that dealt with African American when I was growing up. Jasmine Guy and Kadeem Hardison relationship made the show all that much enjoyable. They are an important part of my childhood. They are incredible actors along with the rest of the cast.
Relax, relate, release... the nostalgic memories and joy Jasmine has brought into my life. Love this woman, even if I don't know her IRL!! Thank you for all the memories and for being as amazing as you are!
I just remembered that Jasmine Guy Bill Nunn and Della Reese was in my favorite tv show Touched by an Angel together plus Jasmine and Bill was in the movie "School Daze" together and jasmine and Della was in in the movie "Harlem Nights" together. My two favorite actresses
Jasmine Guy has made an empowering impact on so many people, especially Black Women. She made college life appear enriching and worth taking a chance on for personal growth. She made dance styles relateable to across the board. She is hilarious and has the ability to go deep with any role she plays in. She is forever Beautiful and always Intelligent 💗
@dr.100purrscent5 You said that Jasmine Guy has made an empowering impact on so many people, especially Black Women. How did she made an empowering impact for Black Woman, when she isn't a Black Woman?
@@maryjs4878 back in the day, the one drop rule was more common so it probably implied her being biracial meant that she could still have an impact in that space. It depended on the situation, Eartha Kitt was a biracial woman who famously claimed her blackness and was treated as a black woman, but it was in her earlier years she was called “high yellow” by her mother’s partners. Today, we have expanded the conversation, but I don’t think that retroactively means she had no impact in black spaces. I’m sure even back then, dark skinned women were not able to relate. I’d definitely be interested to hear thoughts of darker complected women who lived through this time.
If Jasmine considers herself a black woman, she's a BW. The jealous brigade are everywhere trying to kick people out of a group that they've always been in.
“Stompin’ at the Savoy,” with legend Vanessa Williams, was a major class act of hers too! Also, Jasmine’s role as Alex Haley’s great great grandmother in the 2nd Roots saga named “Queenie!” She played the mother of Queenie who was played by Halle Berry.
Love love love her. I resonate with her Whitley Gilbert character so much. I'm glad she's getting her flowers and I hope she knows how iconic she is and how much she's influenced the culture and the entertainment world in general.
Her getting caught off guard watching the scene with Aunt Viv is hilarious! She was great in that role and it's one of the best episodes that doesn't get talked about much.
Thanks to everyone for just showering her with compliments and not making it about her physical appearance. She aged gracefully. We're allowed to do that. One of the reasons people are so hard on her and Kadeem is because A Different World is still on in reruns and it's still immensely popular. Therefore most people only remember seeing them as being youthful on the show. One of my fondest memories was going to drop my daughter off at Virginia State University for college, and every television on campus was tuned into A Different World marathon. The entire time I was helping her move into the dorm, I would find myself standing in front of the TV catching episodes.
This was a fun segment. Side note - No one ever talks about the movie she acted in called, “ Perfect Crime.” It’s a true story about DV victim, Shirley Gibbs Russell. I saw it back in 1997. This segment made me think about the movie and I look it up. Someone finally posted it. I encourage everyone to check it out.
I Jazz! She's an icon! Ms. Whiteley! This sista paid her dues! She was great jn Different World! The movies were great! I had her album on cassette! Try Me! She still beautiful! Her accent is beautiful! Brings back tons of memories! The 80s and 90s were privilege! Thanks Jazz!❤❤❤❤
Man, I loved Dead Like Me and her character was freaking amazing. She played the part so well. I couldn’t see anyone else in that part. I loved her on A Different World, too! She is just all around an amazing actress.
I remember watching Ms. Guy on A different world and School Daze. Them two was a huge influence on me going to an HBCU in Ohio. I can always watch them anytime, any day; even on BET and TV one. She is one legendary fine actress that I would love to meet one day
To this day, i will never understand why they never released that song from school daze!!!! I still have that clip…..all three ladies were awesome!!! & Jasmine was on point in school daze!! It’s one of my fave spike lee joints!! It so reminded me of college!!!
I loved this so much! ❤ Jasmine has had so many iconic roles over the years and as celebrated in our community as she is for being a legendary triple threat, I think she still hasn’t really gotten ALL the recognition she truly deserves for the doors she helped open for Black actresses who have followed her and the example of putting in such consistent great work on stage, screen & music for over four decades now. So I personally just wanna give Miss. Jasmine ALL her flowers. Thank you queen… 💐💐💐💐💐💐💐💐
Jasmine is a legendary triple threat. She’s been apart of a lot of iconic movies and tv shows.
Agreed! I still don’t think we ever got to see what Jasmine is capable of. She’s a powerhouse ❤
Excuse me? Why are you threatened by her? And why three times as much? I’m disgusted.
@@ameliabedelia7018clearly you are slow. You don’t know what a triple threat means
@ameliabedelia7018 I hope you're joking. Triple threat means you can act, sing and dance. It's a good thing.
@@ThisIsJ.Nicole part of me thinks she is a bot or not familiar with some english terms.

Thee iconic Jasmine Guy....you are loved and appreciated sista!!!
Yes you are!
I love that she remembers the choreography!
Watching Ms. Guy perform the movements for “Be Alone Tonight”! Such jubilation!🤗🙌🏿🙌🏿🙌🏿
My favorite life of hers is from A Different World..."Lunatic badgering the witness!" 😂

One of mines too 😂😂😂

I so wanted her to be more involved. My niece got me into VD and i was hoping she would pop up in more flashbacks, especially in the Originals.
