Kim has a disposition similar to Janet Jackson. I love that she doesn’t have to be loud or obnoxious to gain attention. Her elegance and eloquence do it for her. ❤
Yes! I love me some Kim Fields as Regine or Rayjean. The episode where she was the wedding planner and caught the bride (Vivica Fox) getting her swerve on with the best man and told. The minister said please this is a church and Regine whipped off that wig and said we can take this outside! Hilarious 😂😂😂
Wow, so beautiful inside and out. It's powerful how Kim reflected on the impact she has had, it's easy to forget that influencing is actually a two way street, as the person being admired also is impacted ❤
I was not expecting to get emotional when I clicked this. I watched Kim throughout my life, from Tootie, to Régine, to Regina Upshaw and everything in between. She, her sister and her mom are bigger icons than they’ll ever know. I appreciate her so much!! Thank you for being a TRUE, POSITIVE influence on the ones of is who came up in those times. 🙌🏽💜🫶🏽
Chip Fields, who played Pennys (Janet) Mom on Good Times, is Kim's real life Mom. Alexis Fields played Tia & Tamera's friend on Sister Sister, and is Kims real life Sister.
I’m currently rewatching Living Single for the first time as an adult and Regine gives me so much joy. Thank you for all the wonderful black girls and women you’ve brought to life.
I've gotta say- for anyone else who hasn't watched Living Single as an adult- Do It ASAP! It holds up in so many ways and is STILL hilarious/touching. Watching it grown and having lived experiences more similar to the leads adds so much!
first of all SHE STILL LOOKS STUNNING. the fact that she is 53 and that show first came out 30 years ago its crazy when you look back and realize they were really young playing those roles. 20 something year olds in the 90s seemed so much more "grown" and older than they do now.
We used to all cram into a dorm room when in the Air Force on Thursday and watch In Living Color, Living Single and Martin. Super influential to young black people.
Kim Fields out here still looking as beautiful as ever. Man teenage me went through just about every one of these hair styles between 93 and 98, all them cuts and colors until all my hair fell out LOL! had to start college with Braids until my hair grew back. LOL! good times. I don't regret a second of it.
The crazy part about the early 90's and the Living Single wigs is...THIS is EXACTLY when women black began to embrace various looks every chance they got. Whether it was getting your hair done weekly, bi-weekly, semi-weekly, or monthly, every chance they got they wanted something different and Regine wearing wigs plays right into that level of versatility the 90s ushered in. ♥
Kim Fields is a legend. She has been in the business for years. I love her personality, spirit and faith. Anyone who tries to belittle her career and success sounds ridiculous and ignorant.
Her TV shows were so much a part of my childhood right into my adulthood. I had the bangs and pigtails hair as a kid, it looked great on me! I don't watch as much TV these days, but I'm happy to know Kim is still out there doing what she loves and does best. Blessings to her!
One fact that Kim left out of her hair story was her hairstyles on "Fact of Life" was a Black Woman. That's why her hair was really heathy after the first seasons of the show. Not many shows today with mostly African American cast can get a Makeup or hairstyles who understands what the cast really needs to look good on camera.
Yes, when she said her hairstylist took “really good care” of her hair & would pop her hand & tell her to stop playing in it, I just knew she was Black 😂 absolutely saved her hair & made it stunning as well
Kim is such an icon to me. There wasn’t hardly any BLACK child actors in her generation back then. She was one of barely a handful and I SO looked up to her. She set a great example of class and dignity. Plus is still as successful as ever. Kudos to U Miss Fields! U are a 👑.
Her almost breaking down around1:28...please you are iconic! In a time where many stars didn't look like us, your hair struggles and successes were ours too, multi-generationally.
Classy, I honestly don’t know her much just from watching her as a child. But now at 24 seeing this break down, I’m inspired. She’s so elegant and eloquent. Also ma’am aged beautifully.♥️🦋
Seeing her as a kid with so many looks on living single helped me as UA-camr theme my looks from look to look to keep it fresh! Such a true influencer and icon!
I loved her 3rd Season updo, 4th Season bob and when she wore her braids in a bun on Season 1 on Living Single. Love how she was able to switch up on us with the wigs! Regine Hunter was one of the black character fashion icons of the 90s -- it was her, Whitley Gilbert, Moesha, Dionne, Robin from WTE, Jackee Harry and Tia and Tamera (Sister Sister), etc...I miss the 90s☺
This was so beautiful to watch! Watching Regine on Living Single inspired my love for wigs! I loved the way she changed her look everyday sometimes more than one wig in a day . A wig doesn't mean you don't love your hair I like having a different look and I name the wigs lol . Thank you Kim Field's for your hair history and artistry!
I wore the mushroom/page boy style my first day of school when I started 5th grade. Man.....I had no idea her knowing she was not only an actress, but a hair influencer would make her cry. I started crying too...TY Kim.
I loveeeeeee Kim Fields sooooooo much and I use to be so mad when she was on RHOA. I’m so glad she got off that show because baby Black royalty could never be compared to the stuff that’s “it” today
First off, Kim Fields has been my whole life on tv. I remember her on good times and different strokes even if they were re-runs… then all the way to livi HF single and Kenan and kel. Amazing talent and natural beauty 💐💐💐
I had the Tootie mushroom too and it was my favorite hairstyle as a child! Blessings to you Kim for showing us a cute charismatic smart black girl on tv!!
Wow!! How time flies. I remember Kim Fiels in the Mrs. Butterworth commercials. Still a fan. I have watched every series Kim has been in. Proud of you Kim. God Bless 🙌 🙏
Kim Fields is definitely iconic! Her acting has spanned over 45 years and she has always transitioned well from role to role. I used to watch the reruns of Faces of Life in the early 90’s. Loved Living Single. I’m glad she got off of RHOA….she’s way too classy for that.
I love Kim. She was such a cute kid and wonderful actor. And she’s still beautiful inside and out. I’m glad she’s doing well and still has her warm and cheerful smile and personality 😊
Literally an icon. My mom grew up watching good times, the facts of life, different strokes etc. I’m only 23 but I remember rushing home to watch some of these episodes on syndication and admiring the little black girls on TV that became icons today. Their impact has been felt for generations and I can’t wait to do the same with my children ❤
1:25 I remember she once said that when she got to meet Zindzi Mandela, she told her that Tootie was one of her role models growing up. Zindzi is no longer with us and I have a feeling Miss Kim remembered that when she was recalling Tootie 😢
Though I was a child I absolutely loved Living Single. Kim was and has always been a trend setter and an icon for many different generations with her fashion sense and I absolutely love that she remains humble through out. She definitely deserves all her accolades 🥰
We love us some Kim Fields! 😍✨️💕 Loved seeing this. It was beautiful to see her cry thinking back on how she inspired her fellow sister queens without even realizing it. She was just being appreciative of her blessing & having fun. 🤎
Now this was a women's history moment for women's history month. Beautiful hair story that fitted every role as well character for you and many whom you inspired. Loved it❤
I totally understand the character Kim played on Living Single. I’be had alopecia for over 25 yrs. Wigs are what helps me everyday.. Even though I her tired of wearing them. I’m glad it's an option...
Love Kim fields still watch Living Single to this day. This was the show that made me say my 20s will be mine. I'm going to college and will not be a baby mama!! And I did it.
This woman has been a fixture icon on TV for the longest time. I remember and enjoy her most in The Facts of Life and Living Single. Amazing down to earth black sister. Her beautiful personality comes to greet you in each part that she plays. Tootie and Regin will be a permanent part of television history.
🤍💚🤍💚Salute to this Taurus ♉️ queen! Still doing her thing. To me, she’ll always be “Regine.” She and Janet Jackson are SO much alike. Salute both queens!✌🏾🤍💚🤍💚🤍

Ms. Fields deserves her flowers, thank you for creating this video. I remember admiring her hair and fashion in Living Single and wanted to be beautiful like her.
In my high school 🏫 days back in the early 80s, a lot of girls were wearing their hair in that mushroom style. I love you Kim. You're a true icon and class act. 👏🏻
Absolutely loved every minute of it. Thank you so much I have been following your career from facts of life, living single, and now the Upshaws. Yes, you are truly blessed with the career that you have had, and that you continue to have I intend to pray and see your face on many many more shows. Look forward to seeing some of your directing skills. Blessings to you🙏🏾My Sister 👑🫶🏾
Omg I haven't heard her voice since I was a kid when TV was going digital. 😳 I just got instant comfort and nostalgia I had to cry for a bit before watching. I love you !!!!
I can’t think about 90s fashion without thinking about Miss Regine Hunter. Living Single definitely deserved more than five seasons.
All facts 💕
There are several outfits she wore on Living Single I would wear right now.
Agreed!
They took a lot of her fashion and used them on other shows (the nanny) for example
It seemed like so much longer than 5 seasons
Kim Fields is an ICON! She deserves ALL OF HER FLOWERS!
Kim is definitely Americans Sweetheart ❤️👑💐🙏🏾💪🏿
💐💜🖤
She sure does. I love her.
ABSOLUTELY ICONIC!!! 🥰💖💖💖
I spent most of my teen years with the Tootie hair style 😂
Kim has a disposition similar to Janet Jackson. I love that she doesn’t have to be loud or obnoxious to gain attention. Her elegance and eloquence do it for her. ❤
Not totally why, but it might be partially because they are both Tauruses 💪🏾💜 and they grew up the same way 🤓
@@kamiafunchess2126 So true. They’re so humble.
Female Taurean energy for sure♉️♉️not biased at all. Lol. ♉️

Yeah, more women need to follow their lead.
Not being loud and obnoxious.
I like the fact that she started wearing wigs on "Living Single" and it became a part of the character....and yes, Regine was and still is That Girl!
