I can’t front that next update we better get some kind of a linear arrangement view and step sequence that needs a ton of work but this is very helpful
The step sequencer is unique and only limited to your imagination. A slept on feauture sometimes i think to do with the fact alot of users mainly use the MPC for Hiphop. For anyone experimenting with harsher music like Noise, Industrial, experimental/electronic this feature rules. You can literally improvise a whole live set with just the step sequencer/ track window/step presets/X,Y axis/and switching up drum programs to transition songs. Then sync a hardware synth to the step sequencer etc..
Thanks great tutorial. I wish akai would refine/update the step sequencer workflow. I messed up and got an octatrack and now i wish akai would adopt some of that Elektron magic lol. Great tutorial again
This really helped me understand that the sequencer can be another tool to get that beat from my head into the mpc. I usually avoided it because I didn't understand the workflow.
Awesomeness... I Use The Step Seq Usually When I Need To Be Specific And Precise To A Client's Taste, But Normally Just To Lay The Kick Patterns, But That's Gonna Change Now... GREAT DEMOSTRAITION, Again ! 👍🏽👍🏽💯🎼

This is one of the reasons I'll buy an MPC because me using Fl Studio a step sequence will be easy for me to use to make drums in the MPC. The cross-over will be easy for me cause Im really not that much into figure drumming but that step sequencer will work for me using the MPC based on my Fl Studio experience. It's like the same concept in a way to me.
This is a great video, and I appreciate you trying to be positive the whole time but let's be honest the sequencer is not good they need to redesign it. Living pages is annoying they could've at least put partial of it up top and the other partial down bottom creating a 32 length. It needs to be redone. great video
cool tutorial, but I notice that if I hold shift and then I can choose my note to enter before entering it using the touch screen BUT is there a way to make the MPC stick to the chosen scale (that I choose in the pad perform mode before hand) currently I notice if I hold shift then its just a basic chromatic scale lit up then I hit a pad it choose the desired note to be used on the touch screen, let go of shift then it will enter that note. *can MPC stick to the scale while using step mode? Basically is there a melodic step mode like Push 2? *I do notice it will show the selected note in the top left example C#5 or like D#3 etc. kind of helpful that way.
thats not a thing bro but if you want a standard songwriting structure: intro can be 4 or 8 bars or even shorter just experiment hook 8 bars most of the time verse 8-12-16 and you can repeat that for however many verses you want for that song outro is the same as intro but maybe lean towards the outro not being to long but more importantly just count the bars of each section of your favorite song and try out there structure , most will follow along with this kind of format or google
@@JaeFreshmen Another question: Could you make a professional sounding song on it using its tools, effects, and plugins to mix and master a song without having to transfer the song to a computer to make it sound like a professionally engineered song.

I feel you! I would take an update to the step sequencer before another plugin! I would pay for it lol
