    Not to burst your bubble, but the MiGs were considered better and by no means was the F-4 Phantom II considered a “MiG dropper” as a matter in fact most of the time F-4s would get shot down by MiGs largely due to no internal gun, until later iterations was adapted into the Navy, the Air Force were unfortunately less lucky. You can even look up the Phantoms kill to loss ratio and you’ll see that the MiGs during the Vietnam war had a higher ratio of wins to losses than the Phantom. There are a lot of articles you can look up online, I would post references if YT didn’t block them.

      @@aircraftexpeditions Yeah no worries, I will say, it doesn’t detract how cool the F-4 is though, and the reason why MiGs were so successful was due to the Vietnamese hit and run tactics, dogfighting a F-4 was often considered suicide for a MiG, hence why Operation Bolo was so successful, very interesting read if you didn’t know about it already.
