Your opinion is spot on. I just traded my 22' F-350 SRW Powerstroke for a 24' GMC 2500 AT4 Duramax. My 22' Ford was absolutely faster than the GMC, although the Ford had a gearing advantage (3.55) over the GMC (3.42). My Ford also had better fuel economy 17.7 mpg vs 16.8 in the GMC. On paper the Ford is the better truck, but on a daily basis the GMC feels like a much better truck. The ride, noise, and interior seem better put together. Not to mention all the annoying chimes my Ford had. So far I'm very happy with the AT4, thanks for posting this review.
One thing I despise about every brand is on the higher trims, you can't get the front jump seat in the middle. Only split bucket seats with a center console. Maybe I'm the only one complaining about this, but I'd much more prefer the option to have an extra seat in the middle.
I’m upgrading to a Denali ultimate 2500 in a couple months and I can’t wait to have a full center console. I have the middle seat in my current truck (never been used) I personally think that the jumper seat is better for fleet vehicles and that’s why they are available for lower trims. Also, having a 3rd seatbelt up in the front has confused some of my passengers 😂 If you wanted something close to a Denali and didn’t want the full center console, I’d recommend you go with an SLT because you’ll still get leather and other nice options and have that middle seat. I’m excited to finally have a full center console and have more storage space.
@DirtySierraHD I have an older SLT right now that's about due to be replaced, and it has the center console. Personally, I'd rather have the option to put another person or object in the center by flipping the arm rest and also have room on the floor that would otherwise be taken without the center seat. To each their own. While you can get SLT packages with the center seat on older and newer models, it removes a significant amount of options. On older models I know you can't get leather seats and some other stuff, on newer models there's way more that they won't let you get. If you go to the truck builder thing on the website and try to put one together you'd see what I meant. It's annoying. 😅
Man… memories. I grew up on a ranch in New Mexico, not too big, about 13000 acres in the last part of the Sacramento and Guadeloupe Mountains (where they collide). Went into the Navy in 88, last kid to leave home and my folks sold the ranch in 92 :(. Sadly their main source of income was sheep and the predators were eating them alive.
I love where they put the trailer braking. It seems like your arm and hand is next to the trailer brake without reaching or searching in an emergency. The only negative is the column shifter could be a stubby so it doesn’t block the display.
Maybe a retractable bed cover if your just running around to help gas milage also banks has some upgrades that improve torque hp milage without affecting factory warranty
My dream truck is the 2024 Sierra 2500 Denali Ultimate. I absolutely don’t need the 2500, barely need a 1500 but that doesn’t mean I won’t need it when I age more. I’m definitely going to start saving for it, plan on having it until I’m an old man so I hope it lasts forever haha

I've got a 24 High Country DRW and I can not get above 17mpg as my BEST 50 mile average on this thing. My last truck was a 20' SRW Denali and it would get over 20 often. Every tank I reset the trip and I average 11-12 mpg for the entire tank and can never get over 350 miles per tank. I have not towed with it much yet either. Has about 2,000 miles on it. If the fuel mileage doesn't get better, I will part ways with it. Can't imagine I am going to see a dramatic difference in mpg once it "breaks in" like most are telling me to watch out for. I should be getting 11-12 mpg TOWING, not empty.
Yeah that sucks.... I'm getting a solid 17-18 on the 50 mile. That DRW might be geared higher not sure. My biggest complaint is the seats, I hate the seats....
This is really interesting. I would put my money on the 6.7 if both were 100% stock. They are very much neck to neck, with the ford edging ahead slightly. Just personal opinion. Thanks!
Also the L5P doesn't allow for full torque or hp at slower speeds unless in tow and haul mode... plus it's hard to really tell the power differences because one could be in regen while the other is not yk... it's hard to tell but Banks dynoed a new 24 duramax while not in regen and it came out to 900wheel tq and 420whp which adjusted for AWD powertrain losses comes out too 530hp and 1100ft lbs of torque but on top of that the duramax has peak torque at 1600 rpm and they couldn't get the truck to go full throttle at 1600 rpm on the dyne so they couldn't find peak torque@@dirtnakedfarms

If you hold both buttons on the tailgate down for 8 seconds the rear tails will flash 3 times. That will disable the upper gate and it won't fold down and hit your hitch. Hope this helps!
In your opinion, since you've pulled with both, which is more comfortable on long trips? I'm a bigger guy and given that both trucks are capable as hell, comfort on the interior is becoming more important. Thanks in advance for your opinion. Looking forward to that comparison.
This is a tough one fore me. I like making long trips in the GMC. Especially pulling my 5th wheel/Gooseneck because of the engine and transmission. I just like the way it tows better. At the end of the day the ford seats are WAY more comfortable. Its a night and day difference to me and I am a bigger guy. The GM seats are very stiff and I find myself adjusting position while driving allot more. So if I was to pick the most comfortable on long trips the Ford wins hands down because of the seats. Another thing to consider is the pedals are not adjustable in the GM, and the steering column is manual so it takes a bit to get used to. The Ford wins on long haul comfort in my honest opinion. Thanks for the comment!!!

sill paid to much , anything over 55k is ridiculous
@gallardo360 So, your first jab was about making payments. The second one is that I paid too much. Anyone who pays more than 55k is ridiculous. What are you doing watching 100k truck videos? 😂😂😂😂
If he can afford a 100 k truck , prob not too worried about the payment
He’s a farmer, probably paid cash!! 😂
Please stop saying, "Real Quick" 10 times during the review. It would be quicker to not say it.
Real quick 😂
@@stevechimelski4557 So sorry my review offended you steve…. It’s hard doing a review on a 100k truck. But hey real quick, cheers! 😂
The bed and bumper steps look ridiculous and let’s be honest are useless.
Use mine all the time.
I literally use them all the time, these are big vehicles
