  • Join us as we explore the beautiful Barrington Tops area, with the chance of snow we headed for the hills to have a good look around this winter wonderland of sub tropical rainforests, and the amazing wildlife, including wild hoses. After three cold and wet days camping we realised one thing, and that is we should have planned to stay longer. What an absolutely beautiful place this is and there is so much to see. We will be back!

    It’s not the brumbies tearing up the turf it’s the pigs. I’ve watched them up there at night. They rip up the turf and eat the worms. They have a good sense of smell. The brumbies just eat grass and just walk through wet grounds.

    Little Murray Campground is my favourite campground in the Barrington Tops. Relatively open flat grassy areas with a toilet. The locals (brumbies and kangaroos) always say hello.

    Another Great Video. Nice to see the family getting out into the bush and enjoying themselves. Winter is a good time for camping. Put plenty of clothes on and light a fire. Camp oven stew or a roast and veggies. Jaffle iron toasty or mash mellows on the fire. Very few flies in winter also.

    Hope this is helpful advice. When cooking with the camp oven next time, layer some bread below all your, helps prevent burning. Works a treat.

    I love the Barrington Tops. We camped there about 3 or 4 years ago and only for 3 night also as we had no 12 volt or fridge then only esky's and ice. One thing I have noticed since then is that Google maps have changes 2 of the camp site names. Where you and Google Maps said was Banksia is actually Dilgry River and vise versa. Check the address's. Anyway we stayed 1st night there, 2nd night at Horse Swamp and 3rd at Polblue. We visited Little Murray's and Junction Pools and we were in the clouds, it was so awesome seeing such a beautiful spot and being in the clouds. We have some videos of that trip on our channel if you're interested. Anyway nice video it looked like you had a great time.

    Guys. Don’t be scared to add water to your roast. As much as required during cooking process (little by little) so at the end you’re left with decent liquid on bottom for a bit of sauce or gravy. And nothing gets burnt

    Hi guys love your videos we’re looking at purchasing the UEV14 just wondering if you guys have done any videos on the full set up of the bat wing Annexe with the walls and what’s your thoughts on how easy it is to set up, because we can’t seem to find anything about it on youtube. Cheers Natasha

    • @SmartTouringSystems
      @SmartTouringSystems  16 днів тому +1

      Hi Natasha. Sorry we haven’t done a setup video of the full set of awning walls, it’s something we should definitely do. We do put the first wall on around the kitchen regularly and works well to block the rain out. The walls are quite easy to put on in general. It’s just not something we have felt the need to do as yet. Thanks for watching and best wishes with the purchase.

    You’re lucky in NSW. In Qld it’s an offence to even possess a chainsaw in a national park. Nor are we allowed to use them in state forests in QLD.

      @@lastknownlocation8760 What the authorities don't know won't hurt them. If you're travelling full time and have all that gear in your ute/4wd/trailer, and don't take them out and don't use them then no harm no foul. It's pretty unreasonable to make arbitrary laws/rules and not expect people travelling full time to have these items with them, but common sense does dictate that any reasonable person wouldn't go flaunting these around nor use them in areas they aren't allowed, please note I did say common sense, and I do know that is very rare these days.

      In summer, try Ladies Well campground. Not the best camping but you guys will have a blast, great swimming and rock jumping.
