Keep Your Drone Safe While Traveling (Can I Travel With A Drone)

So you have a drone or are thinking about buying one - and you're wondering if/where you can even fly it?
Drones are a big responsibility and have a lot of rules and regulations that you have to follow:
1. Where you can fly:
- certain towns, states and countries ban them entirely. Here is a great resource to check: uavcoach.com/d....
- check your app (DJI or other brands) to make sure you are not in a restricted zone
2. Where to pack your batteries on a plane:
- batteries can explode in your luggage
- areas where checked bags are stored are not good for your drone batteries
3. How many batteries and chargers/adaptors you should bring:
- I recommend 1 hour of flight time (number of batteries needed will depend on your model and how much time you get per battery)
- pack extra chargers and adaptors that will allow you to charge your drone without a standard outlet (USB, mini USB, etc)
- pack a charger that can charge multiple batteries at once
4. Remember your gimbal cover
- the gimbal is the most delicate part of the drone; damage to it can cost 50% of the drone price for a repair.
- bring an extra gimbal cover with you on longer trips
5. Get insurance... like NOW!
- State Farm insurance is much better than DJI Care
- Many insurance options will not let you file a claim if you dont have the drone in hand; they also cant ship replacement internationally.
