To let you know how impossible #1 was: 1. The Warriors came back from 1-3 against the Thunder. 2. The Cavs came back from 1-3 against the Warriors 3. The salary cap spiked up $25 million that off-season. If all three didn't happen, Durant would have never signed with the Warriors.
What about 76ers/Bulls 2012? The one where D Rose got injured the first time. Bulls could've been a competitor to LeBron's teams this decade if he remained his healthy MVP self.
Kings beating the Utah Jazz in 2003 also ended the Stockton-Malone era in Utah, and then with Malone joining the Lakers, it ties into the end of the Shaq/Kobe era as well. If the Jazz win that series, things would have changed dramatically in Sac-town. And Webber wouldn't have hurt his knee against Dallas in the 2nd round, he might have been a Top 10 player for several more years. The Jazz would have continued as a low-seed playoff team had Stockton not retired, which sent Malone out the door as well. They were old, yes, but Malone was averaging 20ppg at 39 years of age, and Stockton was still effective in limited minutes like Duncan with the Spurs in his later years.
‘16-‘17 Finals. When Durant took that dagger during the end of game 3, it cost them a game and gave them a 3-0 lead (no duhhh but hear me out). Yes, they won one game after but when the Warriors won that series, the whole Cavs team just fell. Kyrie Leaves, which leads to an attempt to the Cavs trying to replace him with Rose and Thomas. But during that whole season, the Cavs traded and let go almost the whole team. In return, they get inexperienced young players who haven’t had a playoffs/Finals experience in Clarkson and Nance. The team got so much worse from the season before that we have reports that even Lebron wants to leave. I mean, at least now they have a young team to keep a eye on soon. This series also made other teams try to compete and get as many good players as they can or just flat out give up, like you said. This whole thing was really started by when the Thunder blew a 3-1 lead to Golden State, like what you also said. What I’m really saying is... Yes, Durant really ruined the NBA... but I can betcha he loves those rings and FMVP’s.
Do one on Brandon Jennings. He's had a really interesting career- straight from high school to overseas (one of the first to do it) scoring 55 points as a rookie, out of the league at 27, then dominated in China, then signed with a G league team, then a couple 10 day contracts, then a multi year deal with the Bucks.
I completely agreed to about the 2012 Eastern Eastern Conference Finals because if Boston doesn't go ice cold in the last 4 mins things probably a lot different.
tuileandganache ganache Not only that, the Finals changed the league completely. The small-ball revolution happened because of these Finals, as teams realised that shooting 3s like the Spurs was the way to go.
Everyone always brings up the Pistons walking off the court and not shaking hands...Nobody brings up that the Larry Bird and Kevin McHale lead Boston Celtics did that to the Pistons when they finally beat the Celtics.
Same series where LeBron averaged 27 and 7 on 57% shooting against arguably one of the greatest teams ever with his own team aging worse than the Spurs?🤔
Captain Star Lebron loses to Celtics. He takes his talents to Miami to join Wade and Bosh which starts the “superstar” dictating where they want to play and who they want to play with thus opening the door for KD to join the Warriors.
Was that the Heat-Celtics series where Lebron was noticeably more dialed in? I remember you could see it on his face. After every big play he made it wasn’t his typical celebrations and facial expressions. He was fully dialed in on his own game the entire time he was on the court. He meant business and sure as shit took care of it.
In the comment section here, not enough mentioned of the 2000 WCF between Blazers and Lakers -That Jailblazers team arguably peaked during that time, so a finals appearance would have been huge, maybe they held on to Jermaine O'Neal and Rasheed Wallace for further and Pistons/Pacers would not have had their cornerstones, making the Eastern Conference battles wildly different (and by different I mean weaker that its already sorry state) -Pippen contending for a 7th ring, and his first without Jordan (honestly, him winning a 7th as the first or at least 1A of that ultra-deep Blazers team could have certain damage against Jordan's legacy, as much as it provided a boost for Pippen's legacy) -Speaking of MJ, it is Phil Jackson's first season in LA, hope to get off MJ's back for once... -League MVP Shaq was gathering rep for underperforming in the Playoffs, so if this is another failure? That will be huge for an arguably top 15-10 player. -Kobe Bryant was asking for a trade out of LA around this time, so another PO flop will most likely sees him landing somewhere else. And with Detroit as a strong link, that 04 Pistons dynasty will look a whole lot more different. Either they cannot acquire the Sheeds and the Hamiltons that lead them to a title, or their dynasty will run even further... -The Lakers dynasty was not yet the Lakers dynasty... This was a battle between 2 potential dynasties, with arguably the greatest coach of all time, and three top 25 players of all time with legacy points on the line for all of them.
I think the Nuggets vs Warriors in 2013 actually started the Warriors' rise then everything else snowballed. As great as the Splash Brothers were, the Warriors were really flawed defensive. The acquisition of Iguodala changed that as it improved the Warriors' perimeter defense in a massive way. It should not come as a surprise why the decision to start Iggy at PF to put Draymond at center helped the Warriors get their championship after going down 2-1 at one point in their first matchup against LeBron.
You forgot to mention they supplement drafted the Detroit Pistons out of Championship contension. They felt disrespected by The League and walked out hella salty.
Another great video andy, you might wanna add the toronto 1 vs cavs as a 4 series with just lebron. It seems fishy to me for raptors to be fixed to lose as they have never been able to beat the cavs and gives james one last run vs rockets or warriors til he changes teams again and the east opens up while the west gets depth again. So many lopsided series when they shouldnt have been.
Wilt didn't want the trade bc he was too big for Philly , haha - dumb comment. He grew up there, was a high school star, was a star with the Philly Warriors before they moved (he moved with them to San Fran, then still went to the Sixers after that). It's also not a mystery. He wanted ownership stake, and he didn't get it from Sixers brass. His time as a Laker was an afterthought. He's a Philly legend. Nut ass "facts"
Nevermind the fact that Philly is the 5th biggest NBA market today, with many more markets factored in. Pretty much everything you said is overstated, particularly about Wilt. If he got his ownership stake, he would have finished his career a Sixer.
Drew Harrison by far the worst front office of any nba franchise. Don’t worry you guys will be contenders again in the early 2050s. But if it makes you feel any better most fans consider the 2002 Kings just as deserving of a championship than any team that’s won one. Plus if not for the referees and cwebbs acl you guys probably would’ve 3-peated 2002-04. But that’s too bad for you. I’m gonna watch my Atlanta hawks tear up this years playoffs
ThatNewPimpTrickGangstaClickAlbum GonnaBeThatFire I mean you don't know what you're talking about. The maloofs were the owners that tried to sell the team and move them to Seattle. They ran out of money and didn't pay good coaches or players and made alot of bad picks like jimmer. They set the team back for years and they left 5 years ago. But the Kings are on the right track and have a better future than the hawks. Sure Divac made some bad decisions, but he got reliable scores and set up a core that will win before the hawks
The 1981 Conference Finals were pivotal, in my opinion. First off, if the Sixers didn't blow the 3-1 lead, they play Houston, and they win the title two years earlier. As a result, I see Moses Malone getting traded somewhere else in the Fall of 1982 besides Philadelphia, and who knows what that leads to. Also, I see Boston playing the Lakers in the finals the next year and defeating them. In the West, you had a 40-42 Kansas City King team against a 40-42 Rockets team. I don't see this changing much for the Rockets either way, but if the Kings win this series, and find a way to keep guys in the upcoming offseason (and draft Larry Nance in the first round instead of Kevin Loder), maybe they energize that fanbase somewhat, and they don't move to Sacramento in 1985.
If OKC won in 2016 it’s history 1st Round : 6th Seed : Dallas Mavericks (44-38) Average Team Western Conference Semifinals : San Antonio Spurs (67-15) Super Good Team Western Conference Finals : Golden State Warriors (73-9) Beat 72-10 Chicago Bulls Finals : Cleveland Cavaliers (57-25) Defeated 73-9 Golden State Warriors I got this from your video, but this might compete against 1995 Houston Rockets and 2011 Dallas Mavericks
I believe the 2016 finals series was the real gamechanger, not the warriors/thunder series. If the warriors would have won, maybe they wouldn't feel the need to trade durant. I believe they felt despite the 73 wins, they needed another superstar to win against the big 3 of cleveland (lebron, kyrie and love is and was undoubtly a better trio than curry, klay and green). The warriors won in 2015 not because they had more talent than other teams, but because they played better as a team (and because kyrie and love were injured in the finals). The same was in 2015/16 season, but that loss in the finals made them decide to be also the most talented.
6:51 Wilt actually started passing more so his team would be better and he could win a championship. MDJ’s most recent video does a great job explaining it
That was the year prior sir, when the won the championship. This year was a statement year for Wilt as he wanted to prove everyone that he could dominate the game anyway he wanted to
andy serious question how was that 2003 kings mavs playoff series that important to the future of the nba? the kings weren't exactlt on the verge of being a dynasty especially with the spurs still being the spurs in the west with growing threats in the east. i wonder if you included them because you like that kings era?
The Thunder picked up Oladipo in an attempt to rebuild around Durant, but he waited until the end of the offseason to sign with the GSW. Literally everyone besides the GSW thought Durant was going to resign. That's why most Thunder fans don't like him. That's what most people are misinformed about the whole 'hating Durant' thing. Nobody hates him for wanting a ring (or two now) but not a whole lot of people care for the way he went about joining GS. I like the videos, but that's one thing I would like to clarify about the Thunder "hating" Durant.
It’s not the GSW vs OKC in 2016 that changed the future. It’s the CAVS coming back from a 3-1 lead in the Finals. If the GSW won that series they wouldn’t try to get KD since they’re already unstoppable.
Still think the Thunder-Heat finals could be on this list. It was LeBron’s first ring and cemented his status as a great who can win and got him really going and on the run of finals he is still on today. After that he has played with more confidence and just looser in general. I think if the heat lost they could have been broken up like if they had lost the Celtics series earlier that year. And for the thunder they lost and ended up trading away harden. I think if they had won with that roster they would have found a way to keep them together longer and they could have been a dynasty
2012 celtics in game 2 wade chops rondo for a no call and heat win. If the refs called that boston 4-1 it was bullshit that celtics team were true champions fighting till the end
Portland losing to the lakers in the western conference finals this first year which led to the lakers three peating with shaq. To me the bulls beating the pistons was by far the biggest game changer because the pistons had been to the finals three straight years in a row and were the two time defending champs who were trying to three peat if the bulls didnt beat them jordan might have left chicago and the bulls dynasty might not have happened. The pistons losing to the the spurs in the finals when they were the defending champs and imagine if they won that series they would have won back to back titles and continued winning titles because after that lose they never back to the finals again.
I thought that both Wilt and Bill Russell deliberately played poorly at the end of the 1968 Eastern Conference finals because the NBA didn't postpone the game that happened on the day of Martin Luther King's funeral.
Durant wouldn't have stayed with the Thunder no matter what happened in that series because hated playing with Westbrook. Just go back and look at all the clips from their time together and count the number of times Russ drives into 3 man coverage while Durant stands wide open.
Dont let this video distract you from the fact Sixers blew a 3-1 lead in 1968
60ties Kids will remember
Actually, Philadelphia blow a 3-1 twice.
🤣🤣🤣
WHAT!!! That almost NEVER happens!!!
And 1981
One big one was 2010 when lebron lost to the celtics in the 2nd round
Lets just say lebron didn’t really have “friends”
Last time we saw that "father-son" duo
He quit on his team because of Delonte West had an affair with his mother..
Amazing Sports Clips I know I’m late but I saw what you did there lol

1996 ecf bulls vs magic
2004 finals lakers vs pistons
2011 wcsf lakers vs mavs
2018 finals gsw vs cavs
1961 finals celtics vs hawks
Of course that 2016 playoff series with OKC and golden state was huge .. KD making the move to golden state and etc ..
Daily reminder that the 1968 76ers blew a 3-1 lead
They actually blew a 3-1 lead to the Celtics twice lol
M1key yeah also in 1981
Adam E Philadelphia blow a 3-1 lead 3 times, 2 of them lose 3 straight games and one Celtics win Game 5 and 6 and lose Game 7.
This were not the 76ers, wilt played for the warriors, but they were in philadelphia
raphael_gibus You dummy Wilt was in the Philadelphia Warriors in 59-65 and the Warriors moved to San Francisco and Philadelphia became the 76ers in 64
Al Horford also stated that he would have signed with OKC if Durant stayed there.
You the real mvp Andy
To let you know how impossible #1 was:

As a bulls fan ima say this unless we would've got melo we weren't beating the heat just didnt have enough scoring options outside of Rose
This man really used the time rings from Dragon Ball Super 😂

2019 nba finals is future changing. This season is much more exciting than ever

So Letter C is for the Clippers probably?
eh the Clips had a really good team for a couple of years there...I'd say like the Hornets or Pistons or something
Andy you should also do a video about who do you think will be the MVP, ROY etc. This year
Harden and Simmons
I believe the voting already ended before the playoffs started
2003 Kings/Jazz series was just glossed over. Remember: that was the end of the Stockton/Malone Era in Utah
You can add in 2019 Finals between Raptors and Warriors, 2019 first round between Blazers and Thunder.
How about the one where a group of aging players destroyed LeBron?
Same series where LeBron averaged 27 and 7 on 57% shooting against arguably one of the greatest teams ever with his own team aging worse than the Spurs?🤔
What about the 2009-2010 Cavs vs Celtics series? It definitely helped open doors for KD to go to the Warriors.

SO to my team the pistons taking option C 😟
I thought that both Wilt and Bill Russell deliberately played poorly at the end of the 1968 Eastern Conference finals because the NBA didn't postpone the game that happened on the day of Martin Luther King's funeral.
Gws vs Houston
it'd be funny if KD still went to Golden State after winning the title with OKC
Lakers vs Celtics in 80s
Dafuq wilt tosses a freetrhow and makes it
Cavs can beat the warriors if Cavs have a great big man and great defensive player
If you can't Beat them join them Hall of Fames
Ron Artest
Ray Allen
Andre Iguodala
Kevin Durant
2010 cavs vs. celtics???
2006 Mavs Vs Spurs
Durant wouldn't have stayed with the Thunder no matter what happened in that series because hated playing with Westbrook. Just go back and look at all the clips from their time together and count the number of times Russ drives into 3 man coverage while Durant stands wide open.
