I totally agree that Violet and Xaden’s romance in Iron Flame fizzled out quite a bit compared to Fourth Wing. I really want to see what happens with them in the next book after the ending of Iron Flame.
I’m actually in a way, SO HAPPY about what happened at the end of IF. I need real tension back into their story!
Yay new video, loved it! Totally fair points haha our answers were very similar 😘
Ooooh for heist books I 100% recommend the Lies of Locke Lamora! It's really well done and not at all predictable :)
For the mafia/ gang LI (or just characters)... please read Jade City... rankings may change ..... anyway loved the video as always and looking forward to the next one!
First!!🎉 So happy to be blessed with a new video from u today!! 💗 Anyways, have a nice day!! ❤❤
Hurt/comfort eats EVERY time. The hurt/comfort trope is generally a larger theme of somebody who is deeply emotionally hurt by trauma/a dark past and the character who comforts helps them heal from it or come to terms with it. Or it could be a serious injury that somebody has to help them cope with. I eat it up every time, I can't help it.
Ohhh, this was a fun video!
Personally, I would put ‘not like other girls’ in the ‘absolutely not’ category. The internalized misogyny that tends to be linked to that trope is a nope for me. I would also put Mary Sue/Gary Stu in ‘absolutely not’. We stan a flawed protagonist in this house. Otherwise, I agree with most of your rankings. Found family and slow burn are some of my absolute favorites!
So many tropes 😅
There are so many I love when they are done right
But also get so overdone so quickly that I end up taking a long break from them for a while
Or are done so blatantly obvious that it’s not a surprise when it gets there.
I know my least favorite is a love triangle. Especially when the middle person has made it clear who they are choosing and the other decides they need to keep trying. 🙄
These are always so much fun! Bonus - now I know what a Mary Sue character and a skibidi toilet are 😂
I absolutely hate enemies to lovers. I'll pick up a book I think sounds good and the start reading it and realise that I chose an enemies to lovers book and wonder why I always do this to myself :D I usually end up hate reading them just to see where they go.
AI relationship book you should try…. “Defy the stars”
I’ll add it to my Goodreads tbr! It’s funny, after filming this video I just got Annie Bot In my BOTM haha… haven’t read it yet but here I go into AI relationships!
Also The Long Way to a Small Angry Planet, although it's a side character. Amazing cozy sci-fi!
@@jaimefok I really enjoyed the Defy the Stars trilogy. It's exciting and action packed.. plot driven.. and the romance is sooo lovely.
This is on my tbr.. I even have a physical copy... perhaps i'll read it next after my current book ends.@@serenity8910

This was such a fun video! For some reason I'm obsessed with the combination of the enemies-to-lovers AND faking dating trope. So they hate each other and they have to fake date for some reason, haha. I can't explain it, it's a good combo!
LOL ok this is funny, I like it
Oh yes!!!
