Hit pirate legend with a mate of mine a few months ago, we pretty much only play together so we’re always on the same progression, now we’ve moved on to doing all the tall tale commendations for the gold hoarders curse, honestly it’s pretty fun. We’re about half way through all the commendations needed
So many people were reaching PL quickly, but I took my time, I enjoyed the game. It took me a year to reach PL and I played the game everyday, but I hardly did voyages and I mainly hunted for PVP or just for a laugh, I didn’t want to rush the game because if I rushed it then I got nothing to progress towards. I always tell new players to never rush the game, enjoy it and have fun, don’t rush to PL because right now PL means nothing. It use to have meaning, being PL back in 2018 and the start of 2019 meant something, it meant you were above and were to be feared and you had spent hours to gain it and that you know so much about the game that you can teach others about it, but now you can come across a PL who is still new to the game, they just spent a month or 2 grinding and it shows being a PL means nothing anymore. To any new players, don’t rush the game just enjoy it ad when you finally reach PL you’ll have more satisfaction than those who gain it in a couple of months, I promise you.
Phuzzy has become u true pirate legend. He has gone beyond the need of gold, doublons, reputation or achievements, but has become an opposite of a pirate. Giving the lessons, treasures and memories to the players he meets, Phuzzy reminds me of Pirate Lord who has given us all a lesson if sailing and our first equipment. And for becoming a true Legend, I give you my deepest respects, Phuzzy🏴☠️✌🏻
I came back last December to this game and I went from rank 10 in all of the companies and got to rank 50 in all of them and got pirate legend in 6 months
I have played sot since day 1, and it took me until a month ago from today to reach pirate legend, probably because I took breaks, played on an off, and sometimes just messed around and didn’t actually focus on making big progress now that I’m finally PL, I don’t flaunt it and I mostly get more satisfaction from just enjoying doing whatever I want in the game and helping newer players. I guess you could say the best part of pirate legend and the real treasure of it is that you’re finally truly free
Just want to say that i think you are a role model for how players should act. I just bought this game and getting up to date with it, and find your videos amazingly helpful
Me and my friends love being pirate legends, it was a great journey. We always try and help new crews, but sometimes it is truly difficult playing the game and this helped.. And I still have a lot to learn!
I can just watch the vids for hours without getting bored, educating and entertaining content and loads of respect and fairplay One should honestly sub to this channel to support a great person like him
I became a pirate legend during season 1 when i started in the middle of the season. think it took me 2 and half weeks to get from just starting to play the game to pirate legend. the reason why i devoted so much was because it was rather easy at the time even though i mostly did it solo, but i really wanted that pirate legend curse. looking back, rushing to get that curse with the end of the season quickly arriving was my motivation and was absolutely worth it as for the time being and i hope this never changes, that curse is unique as right now only the players or were pirate legend and who reached 100 on that season have it and right now im in the state of trying to find out what to do in game while waiting for captaincy update. i have nearly all the ship cosmetics i want minus a few from pirate emporium, and i have made my pirate look the way i want it to. all im doing atm is trying out new things in game without my ship that i have never done before and experimenting with ideas. gold in the game is almost not really worth as much of my time and i can still do the grind for even though i spend it like no tomorrow if there is something new i want. i do recommend goofing around with ideas as sometimes you can get a good laugh even if you dont end up doing it.
I got to PL on 4 September, 2019, and I had nothing to do at all. That was until the beginning of 2021, when some of my old friends from my middle school days were trying to get to PL themselves. I've been helping them out when I can, and now 3 out of 5 of them have gotten the title of Pirate Legend. Doing voyages with them has been very fun.
I get this video is old and is still saying remember the journey you had as a normal pirate, but it took me around 3 1/2 years to get pirate legend. I started playing around the month of January or February in 2019 and I recently got it in the past month. This video made me reflect on all the adventures I had.
Ive maxed out all the 3 main emissaries I now use the advanced voyages to get new players to pirate legend. I enjoy the grind and now I try and get really high ledger. I ignore athena completely, and now I am on a quest to get all different items.
I love that quote "What do you do after becoming pirate legend? Live up to the title you have earned." You do that quite well Phuzzy. I've learned a lot from your videos, and I hope to see you on the waves one day.
I reached PL in 2 weeks without knowing what was going on. Most of the time I duo sloop with a friend of mine who's been playing since release and we just did her level of quests. The XP is insane at that point for a new player. For example I wanted to try reaper, and with only one good run I reached lvl25. We picked up a reaper chest and got attacked by a brig that was absolutely loaded. Little did they know about the absolute beast that is my crewmate lol. The key imo is to not focus on that stuff and just sail the seas and do whatever you want. One day it's pvp, and the other evernts, or maybe tall tales, or what not. Just enjoy the experience.
I do not subscribe to you tube, but you being nice to players, made me subscribe. My boy and I just started this game, yesterday after sinking, a skelly ship and doing a few x marks the spot quests. We heard music playing, some dude was hiding in our crows nest. He let us sword fight him for a bit, then he hopped of and left us alone. He could of killed us easy. Its nice to see exp players help out new guys for a change, instead of just killing them, because they can. Anyways hope my boy and I run into you one day.
Man, Im watching your videos every night before I fall a sleep, and I run out of them. I consumed every single one of them, please dont let me sleep like this in my miserable life :( I need new videos so badly
Came back to the game after not playing for 2 years, got pirate legend finally after 3 years since the game was released. And now not much to do. Thanks for the vid
I grinded hard to rush to PL just to get the We Shall Sail Together shanty, tbh. Now that I am PL and have nothing to lose, I think I might actually explore more around the game's mechanics, do PVP more, do events and encounters, or just sail and chill until something pops up in the world. I don't even really care about the title or the flashy cosmetics that much that come with PL, I just wanted that beautiful song, man. I still got plenty to do in this game.
Chasin that horizon always helps when I wonder what was the point, besides how the game was advertised. We were all united on our journey towards Legend. Nowadays its the Pirate life that keeps me goin
Sea of thieves needs a prestige feature. Just imagine, you get pirate legend then prestige. Then once some streamer reaches prestige 10 you can look in aw. Just add this simple but amazing feature.
It took me watching this whole video to get the lesson you had for me at the end: "what you do after pirate legend, is live up to the title." Good one :]
I started this game back when it was hard to grind ...a good 11 months so much fun....when I became a legend I cried it felt that good..now I am currently 19 my crew dont do athena at the moment its so nice to know it ll take longer to get to 20 I don't like to get anywhere it feels more special when its by chance and not by conquest
i got the game on march 1st, and got pl on around march 20th (80 hours of playtime then) I know personally I've had plenty of things to still do in game, such as completing tall tales, and setting more goals for myself, like being in the top tier of every ledger by the close. right now, i'm roughly 9k-12k placement in every ledger, and am 80k away from champion in athenas. for people struggling to find something to do, just don't worry about only doing what you need to do. feel free to get sidetracked, grab that reapers bounty on your way to the next island, and kill that meg that just popped up.
I just hit pirate legend, and now my goal is just to bring others along for the ride. A lot of my friends aren't hardcore gamers and they enjoy this game just for the cosmetics and the fun of being on a boat. I enjoy the captaincy milestones, and the fun of decorating my own ship. Now that i've hit PL, my time is going to be spent filling out my galleon with all kinds of fun trinkets and paintings.
Love the Content Phuzzy. I only started playing about a month ago and saw a couple of your vids while getting to grips with mechanics, and i really love the energy you put out there. Hope to sea you out there ;)
Through school and sports I didn't have much time to play SOT but I finally after ab 3 years hit pirate legend oh how the game has changed I remember it all
I absolutely love this game. Patiently waiting for some more tall tails because they were absolutely brilliant. No help from google, some quests took almost a day to complete...very well put together. Wild rose 😭
Juat started playing almost 3 weeks ago now and hit pirate legend few days ago!! Think that might be the quickest anyones done it moat anyways lol cheers
Just some advice guys, I became a pirate legend within the first year of launch. I grinded and grinded until the game wasn't fun anymore. After reaching my goal I was DONE... I haven't played since 2019. Now I'm actually thinking of starting it back up to just have fun again like I did at the beginning of the game. Nothing beats being with friends on this game and just having fun, no other game compares. So long story short, don't rush and take your time. You will be happier in the long run.
What timing! I just became Pirate Legend last night after two months of play, and I'm looking at what to do next. Thanks. The problem I have doing the sneaking stuff is that blasted mermaid/man, whatever, that keeps popping up, alerting my enemy that I'm not near my ship.
After I've hit pirate legend all I do anymore is. Mess with people (positive trolling) i tuck on ships and hide in loot while making sounds or I borrow their ship while their not looking or I just give people supplies. Or I island hop with friends we usually end up swimming across the server island to island leaving our ship behind which its actually funner than it sounds.
From a person who played sot from day 1 I agree it felt better when you bought stuff now it’s to easy(a 50k sail was as hard as a nowadays 3mill ship set!
been playing since release and only just got pirate legend haha it’s been so many wonderful memories like the hungering deep update i still play with the people that i defeated the hungering one with :)
I can’t tell if you’re being serious or not, but “Little Ned” is a game tag replacement when someone has ‘Streamer Mode’ on. All gamer tags are replaced when ‘Streamer Mode’ is on so that viewers don’t message them and to reduce the chance of being stream-sniped. Names like “Little Ned” and “Sharpshooting Rin” are not actually their gamer tags but are just a replacement to mask their actual gamer tag. Have a nice day!
I love how during when someone was fighting him, instead of showing the fight he said "And then they dialed death" and then showed them sinking and said "the end"
It took me from launch til now early mid August 2021 . Holy hell never thought I'd see the day! I have a life so it was hard to reach now I feel... Free.
I lurk a LOT of twitch chats and the question you see over and over and over again is: "What's the quickest way to get PL?" "Any tips for getting to PL quickly?" Over and over again. I always reply with "It's about the journey not the destination". I've playing SoT for nearly 2 years and without fail the people who ask that question by and large will grind to PL doing PvE and then drop the game, thinking they've 'done everything it has to offer', completely neglecting what I personally think is the best and most rewarding side of the game: PvP. So what do you do when you get to PL? Be a legendary pirate! Duh! Stop running away from PvP ("I'm no good at PvP so I avoid it" - do you not see the flaw in that line of thinking? How to improve if you never practice?), stop worrying about loot and supplies, stop being afraid to sink or take a risk; get out there and be the best pirate you can be, plunder all the booties, buckle all the swashes but most importantly - HAVE FUN!
I love the adventure side of the game personally. I enjoy the journeys and voyages with my wife, and also when we grab a friend or two and go off and do forts, fleets, and my favorite, Ashen Wind. I have literally zero interest in PvP, and honestly see it as the worst side of the game, as nearly every encounter recently has had insults, non stop cursing and racist comments spammed at me while getting spawn camped by a larger crew, or having someone recently exploiting lag to no end (3 of us non stop firing and sword swiping couldn't kill the dude even after all of landed every shot and swipe). I also have other games for PvP when I want to do that. Sea of Thieves is awesome in my opinion, but pvp literally just doesn't interest me here at all.
@@MongooseJakeNerf Sorry you encountered toxic players but don't blame PVP for the existence of assholes. Not every PVP player is toxic and honestly in my experience, the people who wilfully ignore that PVP is a core part of the SoT experience and get super toxic when attacked because they're "PvE only" tend to be on average waaaaaay more toxic than PvP sweat lords. That's not to say there aren't people who specifically PVP just to redress some IRL insecurity, but as I said, don't blame PvP for the existence of assholes. You say you "have other games for PVP" but the constant looming threat of PVP in SoT is what makes it fun IMO and so wilfully not engaging with a side of the game that will be there whether you like it or not is setting yourself up for failure in my opinion. You deciding that SoT isn't a PvP game for you personally doesn't change the fact that it still is a PvPvE game. It'd be like playing Fortnite just to build houses and getting irked when people shoot you. It's literally part of the game! You can't get mad at a tiger for having claws. Once I stopped caring about loot or sinking this game totally changed for me and once I decided to "embrace the chaos" of PvP, I found the game to be infinitely more rewarding. Not telling you how to play, just saying I think your attitude to a core part of this game is ultimately self defeating. Its like, I've met many pirates who say "I'm no good at PvP so I avoid it" and I always just reply "How do you get good at something if you never practice it?".
@@UltimaPowers Well, here in Sea of Thieves, while PvP is part of the game, it's in reality a very small part. There's tons of enjoyment built into the game naturally without PvP, so trying to say "it's part of the game" can easily be countered with "it's only a fraction of the game. There's no need to push it. Lots just want to sail and have adventures. Heck, Phuzzybond himself just released a video with him reminiscing about times past where he was far more PvE oriented and had more fun. So, you need to be open to the fact that lots of players just don't desire the PvP part (which is only about 1/5 of the overall game between exploring, voyages, tall tales, events, and pve combat) and the other facets of the game offer far more enjoyment for many. I'm not even bad at PvP, as I tend to end up sinking most that try and attack me. I simply never seek it out, and never want it. Shoot at me, and I'll sink you, or keg you three times over until you're out of supplies and give up (that was the last guy, while I was trying to do a fishing voyage). Quite simply: Don't think PvP is the mainstay of the game. It isn't. The core of the game is basically everything else, and streamers/youtubers have quite simply made it appear that PvP is the game's focus. It's not, at least for the vast majority I sail with, and we love Sea of Thieves in our own way with many great memories made.
Before I reached pirate legend, I wanted all the fancy ashen and ghost stuff. But now, all I want is some plain looking clothes with just the pirate legend curse.
What to do after PL? Do what you did before and wait for actual PL content. I got PL when it was hard which I think was a lot more fun and rewarding despite having less rewards. Took me from launch until a bit before forsaken shores came out. We both got PL within the same month which I think is a bit cooler since it was earlier and harder to get.

1:30 took me 7 months, but I wasn't going for it, I was just trying to have fun and while selling my loot, I leveled up
How the game is supposed to be played, i actually regret grinding sessions like i've been playing for a small month (a bit less in total at this moment) and now i hit it, it was a 10 minute happyness getting acces to the hideout and checking out the cosmetics myself but once i got back i inmediatly felt bored lol
The outro was the best moment :D
Honestly it was
What a timing, i just became PL 20 minutes ago
nice :) how long you play for.. 2 weeks? pft noob.
Congrats!
@@Athyxion woooow making fun of someone. Very nice.....
@@Athyxion I know this is a joke but it makes me self conscious about the fact that I’ve had the game since April 2018 and I got PL a few weeks ago
@@ryanswenson4580 some people literally are getting it in under 2 weeks. It took me 8 months of grinding when game first came out to get PL and now people do one or two weekends of playing and that are PL.
the self sink at 12:04 killed me man XD, great video. i have had loads of salty and toxic crews lately its great to see a wholesome moment and someone who can pvp without being a try hard edge lord.
We've all been there, man :D Everyone who says it never happened to them is lying
Just became a pirate legend today, went back to rocking the parrot set instantly. Just happy to have gotten parrot beard.
I love how you embrace the game. I don't yet have the experience, but you and I have similar spirits.
Love what you did to that galleon at the end. Even if you did lose the Athena
Rare should make it so you can return the emissary flags to the company’s they are from for a smaller amount of gold but a higher amount or rep.
That wouldn't make sense because its like you got it by killing their employee
No higher but half the amount they give you for lowering it would be ok, as a way of "they sunk me, but i got it back".
If anything, you should lose Rep for killing one of his colleagues💀
You should be able to put on a captured emissary flag if you don’t have one on already
We all have our flaws, but I try. Thank you so much for the kind words 😊 I wish you wind in your sails!
Me watching this, who is not yet a pirate legend:
Hmm, interesting.
Me and my friends love being pirate legends, it was a great journey. We always try and help new crews, but sometimes it is truly difficult playing the game and this helped.. And I still have a lot to learn!
I remember the athena keg sink from stream when you took it during the storm!
I can just watch the vids for hours without getting bored, educating and entertaining content and loads of respect and fairplay
One should honestly sub to this channel to support a great person like him
I became a pirate legend during season 1 when i started in the middle of the season. think it took me 2 and half weeks to get from just starting to play the game to pirate legend. the reason why i devoted so much was because it was rather easy at the time even though i mostly did it solo, but i really wanted that pirate legend curse. looking back, rushing to get that curse with the end of the season quickly arriving was my motivation and was absolutely worth it as for the time being and i hope this never changes, that curse is unique as right now only the players or were pirate legend and who reached 100 on that season have it and right now im in the state of trying to find out what to do in game while waiting for captaincy update. i have nearly all the ship cosmetics i want minus a few from pirate emporium, and i have made my pirate look the way i want it to. all im doing atm is trying out new things in game without my ship that i have never done before and experimenting with ideas. gold in the game is almost not really worth as much of my time and i can still do the grind for even though i spend it like no tomorrow if there is something new i want. i do recommend goofing around with ideas as sometimes you can get a good laugh even if you dont end up doing it.
This is quality wholesome content bro keep it up
Humble ol' Phuzzy saying he's *only* been playing for 2 years "from March of 2019" when he's got another year under his belt
Yo, thanks for the loot man. Your really the nicest person I had met at the time.
Which ship were you ? 🙂
I get this video is old and is still saying remember the journey you had as a normal pirate, but it took me around 3 1/2 years to get pirate legend. I started playing around the month of January or February in 2019 and I recently got it in the past month. This video made me reflect on all the adventures I had.
You're the only one i watch all the way through... Ad's and all, plz keep them coming... You're the best out there doing it...
Started the game on day one and just became PL last month, Haven't played since...
Ive maxed out all the 3 main emissaries
I now use the advanced voyages to get new players to pirate legend.
These encounters are the best 😊 wind in your sails ! Thank you
I'm just a big fan of your way of going legendary by kegging from your boat !!! Simply speechless
Yep, I needed this. Thanks Phuzzy.
I waited until i was pirate legend to do the tall tales so I could take out anyone that try’s to come and mess with me lmao
It took me 5 years to reach Pirate Legend. I played on and off since launch. This is helpful.
Your videos are so well made. Always makes me smile. Thank you Phuzzy
Athena..?
No
Day 1 Pirate here,
Great video.
Maxed out everything as well, still some commendations to get.
Never gets old.
Xbox: Max Utmost
It took me watching this whole video to get the lesson you had for me at the end: "what you do after pirate legend, is live up to the title." Good one :]
It took me 2 years to get pl and I enjoy that
Ok, a guide I need.
Man, you busted me up wth the keg on the bowsprit trick. That was hilarious. But the funniest part was them sailing away in your ship...🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
This guy has taught me more about life in three videos than school has in years
I started this game back when it was hard to grind ...a good 11 months so much fun....when I became a legend I cried it felt that good..now I am currently 19 my crew dont do athena at the moment its so nice to know it ll take longer to get to 20 I don't like to get anywhere it feels more special when its by chance and not by conquest
i got the game on march 1st, and got pl on around march 20th (80 hours of playtime then) I know personally I've had plenty of things to still do in game, such as completing tall tales, and setting more goals for myself, like being in the top tier of every ledger by the close. right now, i'm roughly 9k-12k placement in every ledger, and am 80k away from champion in athenas. for people struggling to find something to do, just don't worry about only doing what you need to do. feel free to get sidetracked, grab that reapers bounty on your way to the next island, and kill that meg that just popped up.
I just hit pirate legend a week ago thanks for the video
I just hit pirate legend, and now my goal is just to bring others along for the ride. A lot of my friends aren't hardcore gamers and they enjoy this game just for the cosmetics and the fun of being on a boat. I enjoy the captaincy milestones, and the fun of decorating my own ship. Now that i've hit PL, my time is going to be spent filling out my galleon with all kinds of fun trinkets and paintings.
Love the Content Phuzzy. I only started playing about a month ago and saw a couple of your vids while getting to grips with mechanics, and i really love the energy you put out there. Hope to sea you out there ;)
at 14:35 you can see that The gyy called Liar's dice is a hacker. He has the hunter of the shrouded ghost title
Through school and sports I didn't have much time to play SOT but I finally after ab 3 years hit pirate legend oh how the game has changed I remember it all
Just made it to Legend today! Glad I have this video the explain what to do next!
I absolutely love this game. Patiently waiting for some more tall tails because they were absolutely brilliant. No help from google, some quests took almost a day to complete...very well put together.
Wild rose 😭
Dude I’ve been watching you on and off for awhile now. Love your vids. Look forward to the day I run into you!
i dont know why but seeing people help brand new players is make my day
Juat started playing almost 3 weeks ago now and hit pirate legend few days ago!! Think that might be the quickest anyones done it moat anyways lol cheers
love your gaming style phuzzy! true legend!
"sorry for TRYING to sink you"
"Naw it's good, you're playing the game" :) love it
You are awesome, Phuzz. Cant get enough of your chillness
What timing! I just became Pirate Legend last night after two months of play, and I'm looking at what to do next. Thanks. The problem I have doing the sneaking stuff is that blasted mermaid/man, whatever, that keeps popping up, alerting my enemy that I'm not near my ship.
I like helping new players to get better, since I've been pirate legend for over a year.
21 days , 21 days to become pirate legend . And I still bloody love this game 😁😁
the end of the video is just jack sparrow after almost every movie ''now where's my ship''
I looked up "what to do after Pirate Legend" less than 24 hours ago, I kid you not! Phuzzy is god or something
Man, Little Ned is getting famous. This is the second video I've seen him show up in after watching FreeMasonLive tucking his FOTD run.
@@user-ng4wt9bg4w I was, in fact, not aware of this. Thanks for informing me.
@@LoremasterYnTaris Fair enough, glad I could help
I love how during when someone was fighting him, instead of showing the fight he said "And then they dialed death" and then showed them sinking and said "the end"
You're a good man Phuz
It took me from launch til now early mid August 2021 . Holy hell never thought I'd see the day! I have a life so it was hard to reach now I feel... Free.
You got my sub. Great game play my dude! I hope to see you out there soon!
What does a PL do at endgame? Whatever he wants... while jazzing out to music :)
I’m just gonna jump around ships and see different people, meet new friends. I like just drifting around, seeing the vast ocean and enjoying it.
I lurk a LOT of twitch chats and the question you see over and over and over again is:
"What's the quickest way to get PL?" "Any tips for getting to PL quickly?"
Over and over again.
I think if you are a pirate legend you should just have fun playing the game
I love that end clip perfect depicton of sea of thieves. Give them an athena chest they take your ship. Thats a true pirate for yah
Enemy ship: fires
Phuzzy: alright man you have dialed game over
