A while ago I was curious about blue light (affecting your eyes not your skin), and while I'm not saying the scientists are wrong, it's apparently a largely debated topic, so I can't really be mad at her for that. However, her calling out her friends and overall just being a jerk is where she loses me. Like that's just horrible.

She became the face of a company, RFLCT, selling skincare cream that claimed it helps protect your skin against the negative effects of blue light coming from computers. She promoted the company and praised it. BUT, blue light coming from computers do absolutely nothing to your skin. Meaning this "skin care" treatment will do nothing to your skin. People were quick to point that out in the replies of her tweet promoting this company. At first she ignored them, but then it got more and more attention. Some of the people she knew decided not to share her tweet promoting REFLCT. Like, Jacksepticeye commented on her tweet supporting her, then deleting it when he noticed the backlash that she was getting. Because of this, Rae got upset on a live stream, name dropping people she though were her friends but didn't support her scam or reached out to her asking if she was okay. Since then, she apologized for that outburst and the company RFLCT has currently shut down and is no longer available.

Blue UVA rays which is what the sun gives off in the long run is bad for your skin. Our screens are not as powerful as the sun so the studies for blue light in screens are very mixed in the skincare world because if anything LED light therapy has been shown to help scarring. I'm going to school to become an esthetician and I get LED blue light facials and it has helped with my scarring.
