The blue top works the best because it accentuates the skirt and doesn't draw attention to itself. Such a statement skirt needs a calm plain background (or frame) that would not compete with it. Also, the unique color of the skirt is supported which makes the outfit more integrated.
I agree. Teal-blue top tones everything down. And that is what is needed here. Normalizes the whole look and makes it much more wareable in more occasions. Avoiding to look like a clown or super over the top. Black is okayish too for a night out look.

The white top was def my favorite. But the light blue/turquoise shirt was also a nice fit. I would personally never wear a skirt THAT short. Even if I had the figure to show it off, but it’s a bit too revealing for me. But looks cute on you, no doubt. 😊

I want you to know that you have inspired me today I got up went into my closet got out clothes that I haven't wore in a long time and I have a lot of clothes anyway I repurpose to my clothes I put them on and I style them differently and gave myself a new look and I used a belt to cinch my waist and it felt good.
I like this way of combining separates in my wardrobe too. I like having one piece, either the top or bottom that has patterns, then the other piece stays a solid color, one of the colors from the other piece. I had these pants with grey, red and white in them that I had nothing to pair with but I loved it so much I kept it with me for many years without wearing, moved abroad with it and now I have a shirt that's the exact red as the red in the pants. It looks super cool and I don't regret clinging on to it
I was really pleasantly surprised by the blue shirt. It's definitely my favorite, and I wouldn't have expected that. I usually go for black with stuff like that, but maybe I should try to introduce more color into my outfits now.
