      Married at 33 (thought I was so smart waiting). Took 20 years to divorce it was extremely hard, OMG I had no idea how bad it was on my sons until it was over. It’s never to early or too late to make a better choice. Don’t look back!

    Nothing to do with the video but I want to thank you for being inspiring and different and unique to your own style. It helped me be more confident and creative in my crochet (and soon hopefully knitting) projects. I used to become upset if someone says they don't like the colors I chose or the design, now I think of you and your unique style and think that I should do what makes me happy regardless of what others think. That mindset really helps in making crocheting and creating things more fun. I hope you truly enjoy what you're doing because I'm sure you've helped others enjoy their crafts as well

    As a fellow young divorcee, I completely understand what you are trying to say. There is a certain self consciousness that comes with being young and divorced, and unfortunately I do notice a lot of people treat me differently. However, I try and remember there is a certain power is knowing yourself well enough and being self-aware enough at a young age to know when you need to move on. There is so much future to look forward to.

      There are many ways to have a happy life and it's simply not a one size fits all. My mother was cheated on in her first marriage and was divorced by her mid 20s and then married our dad shortly after. They were together for over 25 years until he died and now she's 72 and living her best single life.
      Meanwhile I'm 31 and don't have or want kids while my two older siblings have two each and I've been with my partner for 14 years without being married something both of my siblings are. I choose a totally different path but can't say mine is less happy than theirs.

    Regarding the first question, I'd day to try continental knitting, it's easier if you already crochet. I've been teaching myself how to knit since December first and it's going very well, it's hard but with practice it becomes so much easier, so practice and don't give up

    • @dezamraz
      @dezamraz 5 місяців тому +6

      Yes, continental knitting is so much faster as well as it doesn't have as many unnecessary hand movements, you just move your fingers instead of your whole arm. Since I started knitting continental, I'm flying 😂

About 2 years after I saw an almost copy of my dress in the window of the tailor's shop. Did not do anything, just let it be. But, still can not let go of the dress. how courageous of you to answer all these personal questions. I have two ideas: auction your Wedding Dress for a good cause of your choosing or to jumpstart your studio, which is nr2: could be a storage box somewhere and set it up as you like? they can't be that expensive if everyone just uses them for their things ;-) good luck for the future and the BF (or GF) too many winks to be subtle ;-)but I'm glad for you

    You are very inspiring to me. Im 24 now, and im learning a lot life wise and crafting wise and i find the fact that you are divorced at 26 and living on your own to be very brave and wonderful. It shows what risks you’re willing to take to protect your heart and be your best self. You fucking rock!!

    I think I got divorced at like... 23? So I definitely relate to the feeling like you have to qualify it or defend it somehow. But now 10 years on I've had time to reflect, and I think it's just such a normal thing -- it can feel like (and even be) the 100% right decision at the time to get married. But then you grow as people, and your understanding of yourself and you needs evolves... and sometimes that just doesn't line up anymore. I hate that we treat divorcees as damaged goods, or like failures. You did something that felt right at the time, and you stopped doing it when it didn't feel right anymore. That's all it is.
    Unrelated but I also went to a concert by myself when I was newly single and living on my own, absolutely was a 10/10 experience!

With your beautiful charisma and creativity you inspire me in every video. Enjoy your channel. LOVE the coats made from quilts. Merry Christmas from Tennessee USA. You are adorable. I've been sewing for 65 years and I continue to learn things from you. Also, long time crocheter. Please make sure you distinguish between knitting and crocheting I'm not sure viewers know the difference. Looking forward to a great year from content from you. I'm also an avid thrift shopper and recycler. Have not bought new clothes in years. This allows me to live debt free thus stress free. Lots of love your way.

    So proud and impressed that you were able to get off your meds. I have battled axiety and been on a daily med for the past 30 years. I tried to go it without the med, but after 3-4 months, the axiety and panic crept back in.

    • @helenlayley
      @helenlayley 5 місяців тому +2

      Not everyone can, or should, come off meds. Some people actually have a natural deficit in the production of hormones - if you don't produce enough naturally then store bought is fine!
      And it is equally fine to decide that the meds are a support that you gradually need less and less until you can manage unsupported.

    Ive put off making a youtube channel for years. Told myself i need to gain more experience with crocheting and knitting. When i came across your videos last year i was hooked. Its nice to watch them and sit back and crochet. My only issue is i need to be more tech savy to cut videos down and so forth. Your works so inspiring and can relate with you so much😊

    If you know and are comfortable crocheting -- I can recommend trying to learn continental style knitting! The movements with your hands and how you hold the yarn is much more similar to crochet!

    Wait. I’m kinda super new here, like this video is way older than my viewership, but how did we go from THIS to buying a house with Nick within a couple of months? Like, what? Who is Nick? You call him your partner and you bought a home with him, but you haven’t even been with him for a full year yet? No judgement, just some serious kudos to your balls!!! Sheesh!

    • @ilze.459
      @ilze.459 21 день тому

      I don’t know which video she’s referring to in the date question but if they both moved into the apartment then they had been living together for about 4 months before this came out. Sooo yeah they moved in and bought a house within 4 months of living together and less than a year of being together willdddd. They’re both in their late 20s (I assume Nick is too at least), know what they’re looking for and seem to have found it. Someone else pointed out that renovating a house is a good way to see if you and your partner are compatible lol and they look very happy together!!!
