I enjoyed this video. I have a dog that I got at 17 months. She is OCD for toys of any kind and is doing great full mouth bites in prey (Bites because she loves it and not out of defence). My problem is with teaching the heel. She continues to forge ahead or want to walk at a 45° to me so see can see my face. Because she is nuts for toys, I lose control if I use toys to motivate her for heeling so I went back to food and back to the beginning of what is the heel position. Fast forward a month and I currently a Kong and make her go into heel position (going around my back-following Kong and then I put Kong under left arm pit) to get outside. She performs and sits I release it. This works great and I do this next to a fence (keep her from swinging around) but in the open field, maybe. I am not having any luck getting her to heel forward. Can I use this method now or wait till I at least get her to take a few steps forward?

Thanks glad you enjoyed it! If she really understands what the heel position is this will help solve the forging issues you’re having!
