Omg it's amazing how Thomas Gibson can play the intimidating, stern and in control leader, but then he can switch gears and play this so vulnerable and sweet husband!! I mean that look on his face looked sincerely apologetic!!! He's just awesome! ^_^
I don't get why there's so much hate for Hayley. I definitely see where she is coming from here. Hotch and Haley loved each other so much but he continuously chose his job over her and Jack. That's why she couldn't take it. I think any self respecting woman would have done the same exact thing.
I don't hate Haley, but I think they were both to blame. Neither one of them ever suggested talking to a third party about their differences and trying to work things out.
Rossi knew that Hotch and Haley didn’t stop loving each other after they divorced, the team needed Hotch and his job got in the way as a result it costed him his marriage along the way.
I'm still salty about how she wouldn't let him see Jack. You take off because he doesn't spend much time with you, but when he does you go right ahead and deny him of his own child.
His child? The child and his mother whom he constantly neglected? I doubt anyone loves hotch more than me, but when it came to his family, he fucked up. Haley was less like a wife and more like a mistress. When a wife wants her husband besides her, besides the family, he's absent. You don't get to play the nice parts until you do the dirty job too.
@@mrinalini9112 he was with them as often as he could, he would give them 100% when he was home, he never abandoned them but he couldn't abandon his job because if someone gets hurt or dies he will blame himself because he wasn't there. His work is part of who he is and Haley couldn't accept that, she wanted him to be someone he wasn't. It was a complicated situation and it's understandable that Haley would divorce Hotch, she didn't want to keep on waiting for him. But it is not okay for her to try and keep Hotch and Jack apart, you do that to parents who are "abusive" or absent in the sense that they never want or try to spend time with their kids. But Hotch was never abusive and he always tried and wanted to spend more time with them, it's just that his job was important too, he helps save lives.
It’s said on many occasions that hotch was a lawyer before working at the bau so there’s a high chance Hayley and hotch were married before this too, so in a sense Hayley married lawyer hotch not bau hotch, though they’re both taxing jobs bau hotch was not what Hayley signed up for. So I get why she couldn’t hack it but there were plenty of other/ better ways they both could of handled their marriage and the divorce for example instead of Hayley constantly making hotch feel bad about potentially saving peoples lives and making sure the right person is punished for ruining and ending likes she could of sat him down and had a PROPER talk with him about her feelings and (although it’s never explored in the show) there’s no excuse for cheating idc how many nights she spent alone she should never have invited someone else into their bed. And during the separation/divorce she could have warned him she was leaving and not just left him to walk into a cold dark house at night, because who knows what he would have thought when walking in that night? He has a job that may put a target on his and his families backs he might have thought something happened to them, she didn’t know he’d automatically realise that she’d left him.
@@LupinsMoonstone Very good points. But where does it say that Hotch was a lawyer before, was it in an episode or is it only speculation? If he was a lawyer before, Hayley being so sour makes more sense.
Honestly I think Haley is very over hated, I love Hotch a lot but its a fact that he continued to value his job over family and she was tired of it. No wonder she left, I don't blame her
Ehh it's such a tragedy. In a way it's nobody's fault. I don't think anyone would want their partner to be away especially when they've a kid. Problems in their relationship started when they'd their baby. Haley supported him until that, however I don't think anyone would like to be alone pregnant. Especially she didn't marry an agent. She married a lawyer and had no idea that hotch will change his profession. Also she lost her life because of him. However hotch had his own demons, he couldn't bear to stay away from a job which was like his calling. He's making a difference and he lived for that. And while Haley died because of him, she could have also been killed by someone else because entire BAU decided to leave. Also I wish Gibson would take some therapy, make amends and return. It's just ruined now.
Hahaha my name is Haley and one day I was home alone and I was watching cm and I wasn't really paying attention I was playing on my I pod and then Hotch was like "Haley!" and I flipped shit!! Hahaha
No she didn't know that. He's a lawyer not a BAU agent. And she stood by him even when he's in BAU, the problems started with their baby. I love hotch with all my heart, but Haley isn't to be blamed here. Raising a child alone is tough. It's way too much to ask for, to raise a child like your father doesn't exist.
see i love haley and SURE she married him when he was a prosecutor but someone (i forgot who) said that he wanted to get higher in the ranks of the bureau (im paraphrasing a lot). he didn’t deny that. im sure that haley knew of hotch’s determination and how he would want to get better. AND if he was a prosecutor, he would still be invested in what he was doing. sure, he’d be at home, but he’d still be spending tons of his time on his work. i don’t think haley’s at all to blame here, but i think she could’ve seen it coming, and i don’t think it’s fair for people to be calling hotch a bad husband/father
yes i understand that. but that was fine when it was just the two of them married because they were high school sweethearts. it was easier cuz they only had to think of themselves. but family dynamic changes when u have children. i’m sure haley would’ve reacted differently if they had no third party to think of
And he offers many times to stay home with them (just like in this scene) and yet she is asking him to go instead. There's little signs that they both keep kinda rejecting each other and I feel like their marriage wouldn't have worked out even if he did choose to stay home with his family.
Aside from that phone call, there is no indication that she was cheating on him. That phone call could have been from a divorce attorney, or even her sister who she stayed with after she left Hotch.
Regarding the mysterious phone call, couldnt it have been from a divorce lawyer perhaps? I recall after they separated they got divorced? It did look suspicious, although may not have been as sinister as it appeared...just a thought.
It could also have been a friend or a sister calling so she could vent/get some advice. Not sure which season it’s in, but it could potentially be unrelated and the hang up call is from The Fisher King/Foyet/whichever season-long serial killer they are trying to catch, then the friend is calling on the cell.
If it was a divorce lawyer then they would have introduced themselves and asked if the person they’re calling for is there, it’s not their problem if you haven’t actually told your spouse you’re getting a divorce yet. If it was her sister (more than likely her than a friend) she would have spoken to hotch and asked if Hayley was there not just stayed silent and hung up
@davestrider9564 Back then I thought the same thing. But over time I realized it was probably her lawyer. She was likely already considering divorce by the end of season 2.
