Awesome review mate! They are really really close in terms of performance! I'd say main camera, photos and videos mi 11 ultra wins, wide is almost draw but mi 11 ultra, and zoom is probably the Samsung overall. Selfie is no comparison, mi 11 ultra with main cam kills Samsung. But have to respect Samsung for actual good photos and 4k60 from front cam, mi 11 ultra front cam is like 4 years old haha. No need to update I guess cause of back cam and screen. Samsung have also released update which lets you use 3x zoom camera for portrait and the results are way ahead (see ice universe twitter). So to be honest, both are beasts, I so wish mi 11 ultra kept the 52mm portrait lens, it would have truly been untouchable then
in booth cases samsung wins , they sell you a smartphone or they parts from them in xiaomi :)) I have read somewhere that they have more profit from selling displays to Apple than from the whole smartphone business

Mi11U takes the crown, but just barely. It doesn't destroy the S21U in all areas, but you can tell it holds its advantage in zoom and low light. I prefer the cooler white balance of the Xiaomi too. Remember, it's still on early firmware while the Samsung has had several months of updates that focus on the camera performance. Mi 11 Ultra has so much more potential and can only keep getting better imo. Thanks for the comparison!

@Rajan Chaudhary but you're gonna use the rear camera anyways for selfies. The only time you'll be using the front camera are for video conferences/meetings.
I fully agree with your assessment of the two cameras. The one thing that sways me away from the S21 is the white balance, it is almost always wrong, but much more so in the night shots, giving some areas an extremely warm caste. I also agree that the vast majority of people don't use zoom very much at over 10x zoom, for that you really need a compact camera or a dslr with the appropriate zoom or prime lens. A tough decision, but I prefer the results from the Xiaomi that little bit more. Another great comparison Han.
In India S21 ultra is extremely costly and also you won't get Snapdragon 888 , Mi 11 Ultra will come for near 1/2 the price or maximum 2/3 the price and will get SD 888 as well

If that was the case, both phones performed really well, but in regions where Exynos S21U is being sold, Mi 11 Ultra will be the way to go for the people, since Exynos has worse Image Signal Processor than Snap 888 does. Something to keep in mind for the buyers!
@@carver9312 Exynos variants of Samsung phones were always objectively worse than their USA Snapdragon ones. This includes S21 Ultra - If you don't believe me Mrwhosetheboss did comparison of both variants. You are in the wrong here my man.
Dxo tests cameras at its own ideal settings. In the future, these settings are sent to the manufacturer in order to add these settings to the firmware. As a result, after the next update, the smartphone shoots much better. Dxo makes money on this. Just wait for the camera update. All Xiaomi flagship products at the start of sales do not have the best camera quality.

Great job again with a great variety of photos. Overall, thought the mi11 ultra is slightly better but there is not a lot between them and i expected a bigger gap. Was most surprised but the ultrawide on the s21 ultrawide at least matching that of the mi11 ultra. Outdoor zoom is where the mi11 ultra had the biggest advantage. The portraits are really different between the two phones. Red tint to the mi11 ultra and yellow/greenish tint with the Samsung. I'm guessing neither are accurate as the color difference is really quite large. Portrait subject detail seems a bit better on the mi11 ultra but the background looks better on the s21 ultra (It's blown out a bit more on the mi11 ultra). Thought that the nighttime photos were a small bit better on the mi11 ultra.

The problem is that the Mi 11 Ultra is not available outside China, whereas the S21 Ultra is available everywhere else, including India. I don't know if Xiaomi will make the Mi 11 Ultra available globally, but, if so, it will be pricier than it is in China.
Wow! What a battle. MI 11 did a great job with this phone. The hybrid zoom is incredible. Much better than s20 ultra hybrid (4x plus crop into 48 mp). Have to believe the 3x to under 5x would be worse because it's just a main sensor crop. But no drop off after 5x because it is hybrid. Main and wide are insanely good too. Really a only phone in same league as s21 ultra. Each phone trading blows can't declare a winner.
Note: Dxomark test Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G Exynos vs Hans Test Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G SD888 there is a slight difference in camera and phone performance between the two mostly in SD888 favour
Dude, really very very good job. If you want my opinion I would like to see video comparison in low light conditions for main lens, ultra wide lens and selfie. And selfie shots in low light conditions. I believe a completely comparison is Photos from: Main camera, main camera portrait mode, ultra wide, front/selfie camera, front selfie camera portrait mode Day time, indoor, low light conditions, extreme low light conditions (at least 4 shoots) And videos Main camera, ultra wide camera, front selfie camera Day time, indoor, low light conditions, extreme low light conditions (and also you will run in videos to check stabilization etc.)
In general, I think the Mi 11 Ultra performed better in stills, but the S21 Ultra is also really good. Mi 11 Ultra zoom is spectacular in broad light. Color rendition in the S21 Ultra is more natural (one thing I never dreamt I would say lol). In video, both did well, I consider this a tie. Better details on 4k for the Mi 11 Ultra and on 1080p for the S21 Ultra. Stabilization-wise, both are great.

Bokeh and Selfies are better on S21 Ultra. But for global daylight shots the Mi 11 Ultra is sharper and have a better white balance. And in Night mode the Mi 11 Ultra smashes the S21 Ultra. That’s totally incredible how the Xiaomi is good in low light.
What about a mega comparison between the Mi 11 Ultra, S21 Ultra, OnePlus 9 Pro, Vivo X60 Pro+ and Oppo Find X3 Pro? And a few other flagship you have lying around. Could be the ultimate test.

Amazing comparison.... 👍👍👍👍 Honest and Detailed as always. IMO Samsung S21is little better or you can say more consistent with an the cameras. Front camera of S21 is definitely better than Mi 11 ultra. It has to be to justify its price tag 😀. But Mi11 ultra is almost neck to neck, sometimes better than S21. Having said that.... What about MIUI n bad software updates of Xiaomi which makes it unreliable as a flagship killer 😎 A big question.....

Mi11 Ultra for me. Everything is very clear from zoom to night mode. Can even see clearly the lines of the tiles on night mode.

There is no difference between the two devices, especially for the night video. So Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra remains the king of the night video

Wow! What a battle. MI 11 did a great job with this phone. The hybrid zoom is incredible. Much better than s20 ultra hybrid (4x plus crop into 48 mp). Have to believe the 3x to under 5x would be worse because it's just a main sensor crop. But no drop off after 5x because it is hybrid. Main and wide are insanely good too. Really a only phone in same league as s21 ultra. Each phone trading blows can't declare a winner.

In general, I think the Mi 11 Ultra performed better in stills, but the S21 Ultra is also really good. Mi 11 Ultra zoom is spectacular in broad light. Color rendition in the S21 Ultra is more natural (one thing I never dreamt I would say lol). In video, both did well, I consider this a tie. Better details on 4k for the Mi 11 Ultra and on 1080p for the S21 Ultra. Stabilization-wise, both are great.

Night mode better on Mi 11 ultra main camera
Bokeh and Selfies are better on S21 Ultra. But for global daylight shots the Mi 11 Ultra is sharper and have a better white balance. And in Night mode the Mi 11 Ultra smashes the S21 Ultra. That’s totally incredible how the Xiaomi is good in low light.
What about a mega comparison between the Mi 11 Ultra, S21 Ultra, OnePlus 9 Pro, Vivo X60 Pro+ and Oppo Find X3 Pro? And a few other flagship you have lying around. Could be the ultimate test.
That would be great but of course that will require a lot of hard work...

IMO Samsung S21is little better or you can say more consistent with an the cameras. Front camera of S21 is definitely better than Mi 11 ultra.
It has to be to justify its price tag 😀.
But Mi11 ultra is almost neck to neck, sometimes better than S21.
Having said that.... What about MIUI n bad software updates of Xiaomi which makes it unreliable as a flagship killer 😎

S21 solidifies the word ULTRA
The s21 ultra with the latest update can use its dedicated 3x telephoto lens for portrait as well, it produces much better images.
