This comparison is really a tie/preference thing on what you like and what modes are your priority. Unlike Mi 11 ultra and One Plus 9 Pro where Mi 11 Ultra won hands down.
Awesome review mate! They are really really close in terms of performance! I'd say main camera, photos and videos mi 11 ultra wins, wide is almost draw but mi 11 ultra, and zoom is probably the Samsung overall. Selfie is no comparison, mi 11 ultra with main cam kills Samsung. But have to respect Samsung for actual good photos and 4k60 from front cam, mi 11 ultra front cam is like 4 years old haha. No need to update I guess cause of back cam and screen. Samsung have also released update which lets you use 3x zoom camera for portrait and the results are way ahead (see ice universe twitter). So to be honest, both are beasts, I so wish mi 11 ultra kept the 52mm portrait lens, it would have truly been untouchable then
in booth cases samsung wins , they sell you a smartphone or they parts from them in xiaomi :)) I have read somewhere that they have more profit from selling displays to Apple than from the whole smartphone business

@Rajan Chaudhary but you're gonna use the rear camera anyways for selfies. The only time you'll be using the front camera are for video conferences/meetings.

Mi11U takes the crown, but just barely. It doesn't destroy the S21U in all areas, but you can tell it holds its advantage in zoom and low light. I prefer the cooler white balance of the Xiaomi too. Remember, it's still on early firmware while the Samsung has had several months of updates that focus on the camera performance. Mi 11 Ultra has so much more potential and can only keep getting better imo. Thanks for the comparison!

The problem is that the Mi 11 Ultra is not available outside China, whereas the S21 Ultra is available everywhere else, including India. I don't know if Xiaomi will make the Mi 11 Ultra available globally, but, if so, it will be pricier than it is in China.

This guy is really underrated, I have been following this channel for almost an year and I am amazed with all these details videos. My winner is Mi 11 Ultra, I am Chinese and I love China.
I fully agree with your assessment of the two cameras. The one thing that sways me away from the S21 is the white balance, it is almost always wrong, but much more so in the night shots, giving some areas an extremely warm caste. I also agree that the vast majority of people don't use zoom very much at over 10x zoom, for that you really need a compact camera or a dslr with the appropriate zoom or prime lens. A tough decision, but I prefer the results from the Xiaomi that little bit more. Another great comparison Han.
When people say mi 11 ultra is the 'dslr killer',i was expecting something great but unfortunately it is not..so i guess for the whole camera features on smartphone,samsung still 'The King'..love their single take and director's view ❤❤❤

In India S21 ultra is extremely costly and also you won't get Snapdragon 888 , Mi 11 Ultra will come for near 1/2 the price or maximum 2/3 the price and will get SD 888 as well

Amazing comparison.... 👍👍👍👍 Honest and Detailed as always. IMO Samsung S21is little better or you can say more consistent with an the cameras. Front camera of S21 is definitely better than Mi 11 ultra. It has to be to justify its price tag 😀. But Mi11 ultra is almost neck to neck, sometimes better than S21. Having said that.... What about MIUI n bad software updates of Xiaomi which makes it unreliable as a flagship killer 😎 A big question.....

Great job again with a great variety of photos. Overall, thought the mi11 ultra is slightly better but there is not a lot between them and i expected a bigger gap. Was most surprised but the ultrawide on the s21 ultrawide at least matching that of the mi11 ultra. Outdoor zoom is where the mi11 ultra had the biggest advantage. The portraits are really different between the two phones. Red tint to the mi11 ultra and yellow/greenish tint with the Samsung. I'm guessing neither are accurate as the color difference is really quite large. Portrait subject detail seems a bit better on the mi11 ultra but the background looks better on the s21 ultra (It's blown out a bit more on the mi11 ultra). Thought that the nighttime photos were a small bit better on the mi11 ultra.
Wow! What a battle. MI 11 did a great job with this phone. The hybrid zoom is incredible. Much better than s20 ultra hybrid (4x plus crop into 48 mp). Have to believe the 3x to under 5x would be worse because it's just a main sensor crop. But no drop off after 5x because it is hybrid. Main and wide are insanely good too. Really a only phone in same league as s21 ultra. Each phone trading blows can't declare a winner.
Dude, really very very good job. If you want my opinion I would like to see video comparison in low light conditions for main lens, ultra wide lens and selfie. And selfie shots in low light conditions. I believe a completely comparison is Photos from: Main camera, main camera portrait mode, ultra wide, front/selfie camera, front selfie camera portrait mode Day time, indoor, low light conditions, extreme low light conditions (at least 4 shoots) And videos Main camera, ultra wide camera, front selfie camera Day time, indoor, low light conditions, extreme low light conditions (and also you will run in videos to check stabilization etc.)
In general, I think the Mi 11 Ultra performed better in stills, but the S21 Ultra is also really good. Mi 11 Ultra zoom is spectacular in broad light. Color rendition in the S21 Ultra is more natural (one thing I never dreamt I would say lol). In video, both did well, I consider this a tie. Better details on 4k for the Mi 11 Ultra and on 1080p for the S21 Ultra. Stabilization-wise, both are great.
As I have said “Almost” mi 11 ultra Macro is really not as good as other flagships, its almost good and lens changing is not as smooth too... you have asked a good question
Great comparison! 👍 One thing I a sure Mi 11 ultra 48mp SonyIMX586 5x (10x hybrid) telephoto is better than S21 ultra 10mp 10x (optical) telephoto quality zoom is because Mi 11 ultra uses the super res zoom (SABRE) just like on the Pixel device to compensate texture and low noise but if falls behind in indoor shot of S21 ultra 10x optical is better when it comes to low light quality

Bokeh and Selfies are better on S21 Ultra. But for global daylight shots the Mi 11 Ultra is sharper and have a better white balance. And in Night mode the Mi 11 Ultra smashes the S21 Ultra. That’s totally incredible how the Xiaomi is good in low light.

If that was the case, both phones performed really well, but in regions where Exynos S21U is being sold, Mi 11 Ultra will be the way to go for the people, since Exynos has worse Image Signal Processor than Snap 888 does. Something to keep in mind for the buyers!
@@carver9312 Exynos variants of Samsung phones were always objectively worse than their USA Snapdragon ones. This includes S21 Ultra - If you don't believe me Mrwhosetheboss did comparison of both variants. You are in the wrong here my man.
Dxo tests cameras at its own ideal settings. In the future, these settings are sent to the manufacturer in order to add these settings to the firmware. As a result, after the next update, the smartphone shoots much better. Dxo makes money on this. Just wait for the camera update. All Xiaomi flagship products at the start of sales do not have the best camera quality.

Hey i really like your videos and your comparisons but i think that in 1080p its hard to judge the quality of photo/video of a phone. My suggestion is go for 4K even 30 FPS will be great.

Funny, I saw a lot of fanboys running around saying things like "The Camera King" "Best Camera on Android" when the Mi 11 Ultra cam shots were shown in the review videos. Everyone's gangster until the current flagship walks in. There is no King, different cameras perform differently in various situations just like with DSLR cameras.
Thank you for the honest review! I was sure DXO Mark is fishy. Watched the video on calibrated 15'' laptop monitor and on 70'' TV side by side. On both I can honestly say I prefer the S21 Ultra in almost all scenarios. The DXO mark gives advantage in night time shots to the bigger sensor in the Xiaomi but in reality the S21 Ultra seems to retain better details with similar if not better dynamic range. The way Xiaomi processes photos is weird and looks over sharpened quite often. The S21 Ultra gives better consistency. Now, that I've spent 2 weeks with the S21 Ultra and should say that the Exynos chip gets extremely hot and I can't charge the phone while using it, unless I reduce the display to FHD and 60Hz. I guess the problem lies in the 25W charging limitation. Another thing is that only Android + my apps take 70GB of space. 128GB are likely too less for almost anyone. Last but not least I had this before with my Note phones, the screen on Galaxy S21 Ultra is too dim on direct sunlight. I had a TCL 10 Pro for a while and in many aspects including multitasking performance and the screen brightness it was much ahead and the difference is £1000. I think this is all because of Samsung's software add-ons over the Android and in time makes the phone sluggish. My Note 8 has same specs as the TCL 10 Pro but the later just flies while the updates on the Note 8 have rendered it unusable ( I clear the cache and/or make firmware reset at least twice a year).
@@o_Ol Samsung are having some AI that even with the auto brightness turned off still limits the brightness in some ways (depending on light conditions). If you open youtube for example the screen just gets brighter automatically. I had TCl 10 Pro and the display is amazing and so bright (986 nits) that I have no problems at direct sunlight. I contacted Samsung for this and the overheating issue and they said that the AI monitors my usage and will adjust. After 2 weeks this did not happen and these are the main reasons (+ screen burn) why I'm upgrading my Note 8 so I decided to return the S21 Ultra. Apart from the camera the phone is too heavy, I can't charge it throughout a whole day in the car, I use it in FHD 60Hz and battery saving mode to charge and not heat up and this just defies the reasons to buy a flagship. And tbf I've got a full frame camera and quite some experience with photography. Even though the phone cameras have come a long way all the camera AI futures just make everething messed up. I don't care about the reviews, I'm speaking from personal experience. The x3 or x10 zoom messes up the quality, I don't like the artificial depth of field portrait mode and just after dusk the camera is just unusable for any handhold keepers. We're asking too much from such a small sensor after all. So bottom line is, if you want nice phone camera set up, carry a set of external zoom lenses and have a single camera with large sensor. Everything else is just marketing bs. Last but not least I'm kind of angry of how the updates retard our phones. The Note 8 has similar specs as TCL 10 Pro but the latter is just flying and the Note 8 even after reset and cache clean is just sluggish and glitchy.
What about a mega comparison between the Mi 11 Ultra, S21 Ultra, OnePlus 9 Pro, Vivo X60 Pro+ and Oppo Find X3 Pro? And a few other flagship you have lying around. Could be the ultimate test.

I really like the Mi 11 Ultra's camera performance but not keen on the huge camera bump at the back and the fact that it's 234g - way to heavy for me (and so is the S21 Ultra! I would prefer the weight around 200g so may have to settle for Mi 11 Pro instead with it at 208g, just slightly over 200g..

Mi11 Ultra for me. Everything is very clear from zoom to night mode. Can even see clearly the lines of the tiles on night mode.

Xiaomi isn't big on camera firmware updates. I've had Mi10t Lite for 4 months, it had 0 camera improvements

Great job again with a great variety of photos. Overall, thought the mi11 ultra is slightly better but there is not a lot between them and i expected a bigger gap. Was most surprised but the ultrawide on the s21 ultrawide at least matching that of the mi11 ultra. Outdoor zoom is where the mi11 ultra had the biggest advantage. The portraits are really different between the two phones. Red tint to the mi11 ultra and yellow/greenish tint with the Samsung. I'm guessing neither are accurate as the color difference is really quite large. Portrait subject detail seems a bit better on the mi11 ultra but the background looks better on the s21 ultra (It's blown out a bit more on the mi11 ultra). Thought that the nighttime photos were a small bit better on the mi11 ultra.

Wow! What a battle. MI 11 did a great job with this phone. The hybrid zoom is incredible. Much better than s20 ultra hybrid (4x plus crop into 48 mp). Have to believe the 3x to under 5x would be worse because it's just a main sensor crop. But no drop off after 5x because it is hybrid. Main and wide are insanely good too. Really a only phone in same league as s21 ultra. Each phone trading blows can't declare a winner.

In general, I think the Mi 11 Ultra performed better in stills, but the S21 Ultra is also really good. Mi 11 Ultra zoom is spectacular in broad light. Color rendition in the S21 Ultra is more natural (one thing I never dreamt I would say lol). In video, both did well, I consider this a tie. Better details on 4k for the Mi 11 Ultra and on 1080p for the S21 Ultra. Stabilization-wise, both are great.

Great comparison! 👍 One thing I a sure Mi 11 ultra 48mp SonyIMX586 5x (10x hybrid) telephoto is better than S21 ultra 10mp 10x (optical) telephoto quality zoom is because Mi 11 ultra uses the super res zoom (SABRE) just like on the Pixel device to compensate texture and low noise but if falls behind in indoor shot of S21 ultra 10x optical is better when it comes to low light quality

Bokeh and Selfies are better on S21 Ultra. But for global daylight shots the Mi 11 Ultra is sharper and have a better white balance. And in Night mode the Mi 11 Ultra smashes the S21 Ultra. That’s totally incredible how the Xiaomi is good in low light.

If that was the case, both phones performed really well, but in regions where Exynos S21U is being sold, Mi 11 Ultra will be the way to go for the people, since Exynos has worse Image Signal Processor than Snap 888 does. Something to keep in mind for the buyers!

Dxo must be BLIND to say the 21 ultra is this low and the mi 11 ultra is that high. They are so similar it's ridiculous.
Dxo tests cameras at its own ideal settings. In the future, these settings are sent to the manufacturer in order to add these settings to the firmware. As a result, after the next update, the smartphone shoots much better. Dxo makes money on this. Just wait for the camera update. All Xiaomi flagship products at the start of sales do not have the best camera quality.

Hey i really like your videos and your comparisons but i think that in 1080p its hard to judge the quality of photo/video of a phone.
My suggestion is go for 4K even 30 FPS will be great.

Funny, I saw a lot of fanboys running around saying things like "The Camera King" "Best Camera on Android" when the Mi 11 Ultra cam shots were shown in the review videos.
Everyone's gangster until the current flagship walks in.
There is no King, different cameras perform differently in various situations just like with DSLR cameras.

Thank you for the honest review! I was sure DXO Mark is fishy. Watched the video on calibrated 15'' laptop monitor and on 70'' TV side by side. On both I can honestly say I prefer the S21 Ultra in almost all scenarios. The DXO mark gives advantage in night time shots to the bigger sensor in the Xiaomi but in reality the S21 Ultra seems to retain better details with similar if not better dynamic range. The way Xiaomi processes photos is weird and looks over sharpened quite often. The S21 Ultra gives better consistency. Now, that I've spent 2 weeks with the S21 Ultra and should say that the Exynos chip gets extremely hot and I can't charge the phone while using it, unless I reduce the display to FHD and 60Hz. I guess the problem lies in the 25W charging limitation. Another thing is that only Android + my apps take 70GB of space. 128GB are likely too less for almost anyone. Last but not least I had this before with my Note phones, the screen on Galaxy S21 Ultra is too dim on direct sunlight. I had a TCL 10 Pro for a while and in many aspects including multitasking performance and the screen brightness it was much ahead and the difference is £1000. I think this is all because of Samsung's software add-ons over the Android and in time makes the phone sluggish. My Note 8 has same specs as the TCL 10 Pro but the later just flies while the updates on the Note 8 have rendered it unusable ( I clear the cache and/or make firmware reset at least twice a year).
s21u has a peak 1500nit and you say it is dim. interesting.
@@o_Ol Samsung are having some AI that even with the auto brightness turned off still limits the brightness in some ways (depending on light conditions). If you open youtube for example the screen just gets brighter automatically. I had TCl 10 Pro and the display is amazing and so bright (986 nits) that I have no problems at direct sunlight. I contacted Samsung for this and the overheating issue and they said that the AI monitors my usage and will adjust. After 2 weeks this did not happen and these are the main reasons (+ screen burn) why I'm upgrading my Note 8 so I decided to return the S21 Ultra. Apart from the camera the phone is too heavy, I can't charge it throughout a whole day in the car, I use it in FHD 60Hz and battery saving mode to charge and not heat up and this just defies the reasons to buy a flagship. And tbf I've got a full frame camera and quite some experience with photography. Even though the phone cameras have come a long way all the camera AI futures just make everething messed up. I don't care about the reviews, I'm speaking from personal experience. The x3 or x10 zoom messes up the quality, I don't like the artificial depth of field portrait mode and just after dusk the camera is just unusable for any handhold keepers. We're asking too much from such a small sensor after all. So bottom line is, if you want nice phone camera set up, carry a set of external zoom lenses and have a single camera with large sensor. Everything else is just marketing bs. Last but not least I'm kind of angry of how the updates retard our phones. The Note 8 has similar specs as TCL 10 Pro but the latter is just flying and the Note 8 even after reset and cache clean is just sluggish and glitchy.

I really like the Mi 11 Ultra's camera performance but not keen on the huge camera bump at the back and the fact that it's 234g - way to heavy for me (and so is the S21 Ultra! I would prefer the weight around 200g so may have to settle for Mi 11 Pro instead with it at 208g, just slightly over 200g..
