I love halloweenish sounds like this. There's a band called Stolen Babies whose style is mostly built around this dark, circusy style I can't get enough of. Really wish there were more songs around like this.
Wouldn't have expected someone mentioning Stolen Babies - one of my overall favourite bands - here! And "Scaretale" is definitely my overall favourite song on "Imaginaerum", because it's beautifully weird. Since you mentioned you wished there were more songs around like this, are you familiar with the Norwegian band Atrox and their album "Contentum"? If not, check out their song "Sultry Air" and let me know what you think!
@@MissLoonasSpeech Yup, that's quite good. Other songs in the album, too, I especially enjoyed Panta Rei and What Crawls Underneath. Proggy stuff generally is pretty hard for me to get into as a "civilian" but that album's a no brainer, definitely. Thanks for the rec, didn't expect something like this on YT either.
@@1manorgy Pleased to hear you liked it! :) My personal faves on "Contentum" are "Sultry Air", "Lizard Dance", "Panta Rei/Gather In Me No More" (while listed separately as 4a and 4b on the album's backcover, they are one song on the CD) and "Letters to Earth". If you liked "Contentum", you might also try their two albums "Terrestrials" and "Orgasm" which followed after "Contentum". After the latter, their vocalist Monika Edvardsen, who also wrote nearly all of the lyrics and did the original cover artwork, left the band. If it doesn't have to be metal, also check out the one-off project Tactile Gemma, especially the songs "Creepy-Crawlies" and "Whiz", which also features Monika Edvardsen on vocals (sometimes joined by her sister Ann-Mari Edvardsen who in turn had been the vocalist on three records by The 3rd and the Mortal in the second half of the 90s). If you like Monika's playful vocals, also try Sainkho Namtchylak, especially her albums "Naked Spirit" and "Who Stole the Sky?", and - if you aren't already familiar with it - Kate Bush's album "The Dreaming", maybe also "The Ninth Wave" (which is the second half of her album "Hounds of Love"). In some songs by Atrox and Tactile Gemma, Monika's voice actually does remind me a bit of Kate Bush on her first four albums.
@@1manorgy These are just suggestions, thus take all the time you need! Just a slight correction/clarification of my previous post: Monika Edvardsen left Atrox after their album "Orgasm". I only noticed now that the way I wrote it, "after the latter" seems to refer to "Contentum".
Ring-a-ring-a-roses A pocket full of posies Atishoo, atishoo We all fall down Once upon a time in a daymare Dying to meet you, little child, enter enter this sideshow Time for bed the cradle still rocks 13 chimes on a dead man's clock, tick-tock, tick-tock, tick-tock The bride will lure you, cook you, eat you Your dear innocence boiled to feed the evil in need of fear Burning farms and squealing pigs A pool of snakes to swim with, oh sweet poison bite me bite me “Ladies and gentlemen Be heartlessly welcome! To Cirque De Morgue And what a show we have for you tonight!” Restless souls will put on their dancing shoes Mindless ghouls with lot of limbs to lose Illusionists, contortionist, Tightrope-walkers tightening the noose Horde of spiders, closet tentacles Laughing harpies with their talons ripping, sher-chrisss, per-vizzz The pendulum still sways for you Such are the darks here to show you, child in a corner, fallen mirrors, all kingdom in cinder
I and my daughter very like this song. And always remind me to her that we have ever imagined about this song. Exactly about whole songs in imaginaerum
Ah, watch this a lot throughout the year but always return when its spooky time! Great job on editing this vid, great mix of live and movie with studio audio.
Her voice is definitely an aquired taste, but it's a good fit for what they were trying to do. It's one of those things that only this chic can pull of... Flyleaf flavor to it.
This song called for an evil voice (one demons run away from in terror) and timing-perfect theatrics that you'd expect in a 15-rated pantomime. Annette couldn't have been bettered. I'll argue the rest become completely different songs under Floor and therefore you'd no more compare Annette Storytime with Floor Storytime than you'd compare it with Smoke on Water. I don't wish to argue better or worse. Personally, Annette did the perfect number of albums and feature films with Nightwish. She was the right person to end one chapter and to turn the dream into film reality. (Tarja can play evil, I'm sure, but is a strictly upper-class vampire. I more see Floor doing a live-action female Inspector Gadget with hair that turns into a helicopter. No idea why. Feel free to reply with suggestions.)
Anette is fucking awesome. Tarja and Floor are both amazing as well but I feel like Anette was the best… actor? It’s hard to explain but the show she puts on in this song is a perfect example of her range.
La primera vez que escuché una canción donde Anette es la Reina del tema ....la escuché con Floor pero .... Alguien dijo "La canción de Anette" Y así es. Es la canción de Anette........insuperable
This is possibly my favorite song of all time, of any genre or artist. 100% the best in the past 20 years. Crazy how Nightwish have evolved since I first saw She is My Sin music video in the late 90's on the internet.
It would had been epic if they had made The Imaginaerum Tour an event like Pink Floyd had done with The Wall. Just this album live with the movie in the background.
the other 2 while being powerhouses, can’t hold a candle to her in terms of expressing Tuomas’ lyrics. she brings them to life in a way those 2 could never, it’s easy to see if one isn’t in denial. She gives and expresses Tuomas’ lyrics the meaning they’re supposed to have. That’s why her 2 albums with them performed so well. Because Tuomas has always been a genius at lyrics, now couple that with a singer who can express them… she was the perfect one to carry them into a new era for Nightwish. The 2 albums they did together shows it, their fan base tripled while Annette was with them :)
@blue_sky_bright_sun7599 I don't anything about the all that. I stumbled onto Nightwish less than three years ago with Floor as singer, so I've been enjoying the band with all three singers ever since. We don't have them playing here in the radio in the US so I've had to experience it all late in the game

@@MissLoonasSpeech Geez, that's a lot of stuff. I'll try to get to these when I have time, thanks.
@@1manorgy These are just suggestions, thus take all the time you need! Just a slight correction/clarification of my previous post: Monika Edvardsen left Atrox after their album "Orgasm". I only noticed now that the way I wrote it, "after the latter" seems to refer to "Contentum".
Big Respect From Serbia ...
Ring-a-ring-a-roses
A pocket full of posies
Atishoo, atishoo
We all fall down
Once upon a time in a daymare
Dying to meet you, little child, enter enter this sideshow
Time for bed the cradle still rocks
13 chimes on a dead man's clock, tick-tock, tick-tock, tick-tock
The bride will lure you, cook you, eat you
Your dear innocence boiled to feed the evil in need of fear
Burning farms and squealing pigs
A pool of snakes to swim with, oh sweet poison bite me bite me
“Ladies and gentlemen
Be heartlessly welcome!
To Cirque De Morgue
And what a show we have for you tonight!”
Restless souls will put on their dancing shoes
Mindless ghouls with lot of limbs to lose
Illusionists, contortionist,
Tightrope-walkers tightening the noose
Horde of spiders, closet tentacles
Laughing harpies with their talons ripping, sher-chrisss, per-vizzz
The pendulum still sways for you
Such are the darks here to show you, child in a corner, fallen mirrors, all
kingdom in cinder

Demonic, witchy, and sexy all at the same time
Freya be praised😍🥰❤️🩷💕
I ABSOLUTELY ADORE THIS SONG!ALL HAIL OUR LORD AND SAVIOUR TUOMAS,THANK YOU FOR MAKING DIS DADDY!DIS MA JAM!
Anette this album was a great success yours
I first knew Nightwish when I heard this song and I thought he was really like a witch singing to scare a child From there I started liking this band
Amaranth, Cadence Of Her Last Breath and Scaretale for me are the best Anette-Nightwish songs. A perfect fit for her voice.
You forgot Meadows of Heaven, Turn Lose The Mermaids, Slow Love Slow, The Poet and the Pendulum, The Crow, The Owl and The Dove, Eva
I and my daughter very like this song.
And always remind me to her that we have ever imagined about this song. Exactly about whole songs in imaginaerum
A very good job at this clip. I love this song and Nightwish. 😃🤩
Best Nightwish song
Dude!! That was F**king awesome!!!
4:13 is beautiful!
this one i love with anette great underrated voice ,here she sounds of the metal version of kate bush.
Check out a song off her solo album called 'Floating'...very Kate Bush esque
Watched the movie. Loved Anette in every scene she was in. Very creepy, yet captivating
Se extrañan esas cosas de NW que pasaron y dejaron huella en cada parte de su carrera con Marko y Jukka! Tarja Annette Floor! This is NW! The Best!
Ah, watch this a lot throughout the year but always return when its spooky time! Great job on editing this vid, great mix of live and movie with studio audio.
I came back because of Halloween too 🎃🎃🎃
Dabia que existia el video y no lo habia imaginado 🥹
Very well done.. I love it!! Masterpiece.
Шедевр
Fantastic! Great video! It looks like an Original Nightwish music video!
Imaginaerum is Anette's alone. No one else can sing its music as beautifully.
Some of songs is better for Floor
For example Ghost River and Storytime
ummmm florrrrrrrrr
No Imaginaerum is Annettes. Even though Floor is my favorite Nightwish singer this album belongs to Annette.
@@nickwilson5755
My personal favorite is actually Annette. She got with another band called Dark Element if anyone is interested/didn't know.
More like everybody can sing it
Her voice is definitely an aquired taste, but it's a good fit for what they were trying to do. It's one of those things that only this chic can pull of... Flyleaf flavor to it.
Pure genius. This is awesome.
Impresionante banda🌺
Yes, i think too anette was best in music videos
La primera vez que escuché una canción donde Anette es la Reina del tema ....la escuché con Floor pero ....
Alguien dijo
"La canción de Anette"
Y así es. Es la canción de Anette........insuperable
Great video!! Love them!!! MARCO RULES!!
This is possibly my favorite song of all time, of any genre or artist. 100% the best in the past 20 years. Crazy how Nightwish have evolved since I first saw She is My Sin music video in the late 90's on the internet.
Man, fantastic work on this video! I love it!
awesome m8 rly good job, love this song best 1 on the Album =)
Excellent video. Great work by NataWorkStudio! This is what should have been the official Scaretale video.
It would had been epic if they had made The Imaginaerum Tour an event like Pink Floyd had done with The Wall. Just this album live with the movie in the background.
Good Video,,,Awesome Nightwish..
Daaamnnn.......Anette you look Scary...cooooll...!!!!
Somehow, I miss Anette :( Awesome video btw! :)
Nobody misses her. Only good songs by her were Sahara & Storytime.
@@Liosky yeah as if you speak for everyone
Yeah, i totally miss her to. Both her albums with Nightwish is awesome!
@@Liosky Wrong, dip shit
I LOVE THE INSTRUMENTAL!
So far, this is my favorite Nightwish album
While I adore Floor and her epic voice, this is the one song I consider exclusively for Annette Olzon. Her range and delivery is perfect in this song
the other 2 while being powerhouses, can’t hold a candle to her in terms of expressing Tuomas’ lyrics. she brings them to life in a way those 2 could never, it’s easy to see if one isn’t in denial.
Wow great video
My by far favourite is Floor, but this song is for Anette and also Amaranth...
poderoso este video que sigan asi en el mudo de la musica del rock
