The heavy vocals when he says "She faced me in awe" add an extra creepy dark & beautifully poetic layer that is just perfectly fitting.

April Ethereal's outro is one of my favorites of all time, the two different guitar riffs intertwining sound so amazing to me, and it's unreal how many epic outros Mikael has written. At 8:13 when you mention 'Still Life' that's great, I agree. This is the album right before 'Still Life' and I feel it's 'when' they really came into their own. Speaking of 'When', that's the next song on this album and it's one of the greatest!

That electric & acustic combo makes When stand out very well. Even among their other album songs. When I first heard it years ago, I just had to keep rewinding to hear it over & over. I'd never heard that before & it just totally caught me off guard. 🤙

Mikael recorded this album with a head cold and it produced some different, albeit beautiful results. Probably my favorite album period!!

What’s cool about MAYH is that Mikael wanted to change up their counterpoint heavy style in their first two albums, because according to Mikael everyone was copying it lol. From that point on their music became more chords riff oriented. What I like most about this album its raw, different, and unique to their catalog. Still life is closest as far as stylistically but different.

Was looking forward to your reaction of the outtro especially. This is in my opinion the most epic outtro of them. Even better than the outtro from Deliverance. Not very much will agree with me, but yeah, what ever😊

PJ...this song comes off of the Opeth album "My Arms, Your Hearse". As a fan of this band since about 1999, Im telling you that you have to hear this WHOLE ALBUM in order. A lot of Opeth's albums are like that. Its easier to appreciate them when you do one entire album...pretty much in song order...at a time.
Welcome to the Opeth family bro.

Hearse is pronounced a bit like curse and nurse ;)
A hearse is a coffin carrier.
The early Opeth does have a much different atmosphere, leaning towards the black metal sound more than the death metal one. Can't wait for the rest.
