  • Act Your Age performed by Gordon Goodwin and the El Dorado Jazz Ensemble 1 at BJC XXI. This was performed in May 2008, 4 months before the album was released. Also note the band only had rehearsed this for like 2 weeks and the music wasn't even published or recorded yet at the time, so please don't be quick to judge.

    I was wondering why the trumpets cracked and then I realized it was a bunch of kids. Excellent job

    The bass is the best part of the song and you can't Even hear it

    playing bass for my jazz band and playing this song i think that it was a little rushed. gordon plays it at 140 and even still thats a little too fast like 120 or in that are makes it groovy. and more bass

      You do realize this was recorded months before the actual recording came out right (in my about section), so there is no reference we could go by at the time.

      oh yea good point. my fault. still a fun song to play. we play this this tuesday and in san antonio in about two weeks

      Yeah more base and it needs to be way louder. This really ruined the funky part of the song.

    your bass is too square and white! tell him to get funky! bass players should be the blackest man in the house!
