Huge amount of respect for how you told this. Everyone who knows something about the Noonans has heard of that filthy nonce and the way you spoke of him getting along with that nasty screw says it all - people like that get off on power over others and bullying. What you saw in that young lad says that you have real compassion and that is one of the things that's missing from society in general but especially in the prison industrial complex or when it comes to people that are marginalised generally. Imagine how many lives have been ruined by monsters like Domenic Noonan and lets not fool ourselves into thinking he was the only nonce in that world - it is full of them. The Krays were at it and set up rent boys for politicians like Lord Boothby. Jimmy Savile was basically a gangster who got to the top by "procuring" for politicians, "royals" etc. and these people are all the same. After his brothers died, Domenic seemed to become a joke and I was genuinely glad to see him get sent down for his disgusting nonce behaviour. Everyone knew about it but no one did anything because of his brothers mainly and even they were embarrassed by him. Remember that documentary they made about him? Even in that he was surrounded by kids. A fckin disgrace and I hope that one of the many poor lads that suffered at his hands gives him a good slashing. I shouldn't say it but everyone agrees that nonces are the lowest of the low, even though organised crime is full of them. Don't buy into notions of "noble" gangsters cos plenty of them are complete dirty wrong'uns and even the names who have been said to be "benevolent" are actually full on psychopaths who get off on hurting others. There are other "Domenic Noonans" out there but they are actually heavy and have their own reputation, whereas he just got away with his bollocks because of Desmond and Damian before him. Even Desmond ended up fcked on crack and getting stabbed on Cheetham Hill and he spoke of what a sh*tty life it was, but Domenic used it to basically groom kids. Not to say that he didn't do work but without his brothers he would've been taken out years ago for being a fat sweaty nonce bully and that's basically what has happened, although he was lucky enough to get put inside before some poor kid who grew up in it went for him.
But my main point was to commend Sam Samworth for his compassion and seeing that poor kid's behaviour for what it was. I'm so used to people talking all hard about scum like Domenic and I even went on a rant myself but to see someone speak for the victims is refreshing and I have a lot of respect for it. I hope the kid is alright. A lot of kids had to suffer that monster.

Hi Sam, I'm from the nxt town from you, I remember traipsing to strangeways when my brother was there, early 90s, just after the riots, half the roof was still missing, my brother, never had a fight, never violent, but sadly, drugs got a hold, I used to go by train, then bus, then visiting centre, then taken in to see him, he wouldn't, T.I.C, some charges, so they put him on the ghost train, it was a nightmare, I'd turn up n they shipped him out, Liverpool, Durham, Doncaster, ect, every other day, thankfully he's been drug free, for nearly 20 years, has a job and family now, but it's hard for families as well, we do the time, but not the crime.

Hi, Sam. that point you raise about commanding respect, and demanding respect being two totally different things is something 'd never thought of before. But I see now that you're quite correct.
It's like a military commander who knows what he is doing and fights alongside his men, in which case he commands their respect which is freely given. For instance like Captain Winters in Band Of Brothers. Whereas others who demand respect, like Captain Sobel, will never receive that respect from the men, even though they may pretend they respect him.

@@MrBollocks10 your name is right. Everyone knew what he was up to and they turned a blind eye, he was nonceing kids for years and he wasn't sent down from crimes he committed when he was 16. Have a look at the case, at least what's public. He was at it for decades and they only got him after Dessie died and he became a joke. To the original comment, it was probably a mixture of not knowing the full extent (i.e. he was into men but not a nonce so look the other way kind of thing) and also because of his brothers, when they were still around. But there were plenty of people who did know and would've happily finished him off but he could always threaten them with Dessie, even though he ended up fkced on crack and got stabbed to death by some dealer in Cheetham Hill. After that the police finally got him but they were probably waiting for him to be on his own because he was just a fat bully nonce who used his name to groom kids. @MrBollocks10 are you his pal or something? I've never heard anyone doubt "the label" they put on him. That label was on him for as long as the Noonans were a big deal.

Sounds about right, Damien was supposedly the smartest and had everything worked out and Dessie was just a heavy c8nt and a killer but Domenic the nonce just lived off the name so he could groom boys. Of course he was involved but when the two main brothers died, he was just a laughing stock and I don't think he'd have been jailed if Dessie was still around cos even when he was fucked on crack he was still dangerous and feared, although the dealer who stabbed him to death didn't fear him obviously. Shame Dom the nonce didn't suffer the same fate - that's probably why the police moved on him properly when they did cos he was nothing without his brothers from what I've always heard.

I feel as though I have come full circle this past week at work. I wasted around 6 years of my life in jail. Past almost 2 years I been driving a lorry all over the UK working away all week. This week, I picked up a load of safer custody furniture from manufacturer in Spennymoor in Durham to take into HMP Bristol. It felt strange to drive a wagon into the gatehouse instead of being in the back waiting to go into reception. I had to hand in all my phones, electronic devices and cables and even my personal kit into a locker in the sterile area.
I got the feeling when I was in Holme House with Noonan that he be the type to prey on vulnerable young lads on the wing

Don’t know if you’ve heard of Hammy the P**f from Glasgow. (Life caught up with him) but he sounds exactly the same as Dominic. Walked from several High Court charges. Ended up with a lifer. Meant to appear for historic charges. A scouser with a terminal illness took the Derry. No more Hammy
Martin Farrelly was charged with his murder. Rest in pieces Hammy

Dom was a laughing stock and I don't reckon he'd have got sent down even if Dessie was alive, even tho he was an embarrassment to the family.

Always heard it about Damian and that he was serious and had the brains but Dessie was still pretty serious in his way and did a lot of actual dirt after Damian died, "enforcing" and all that. He wasn't his brother though and people actually liked and respected Damien whereas people were just scared of Dessie. As for Dom, he was always a fat filthy nonce bully (some thought he was just gay and turned a blind eye but plenty knew that he was a full on pedo) and only got away with it because of his name. Dessie was still feared right up until he got stabbed up due to his crack habit but he had lost the plot over the years. After that Dom the nonce just became an obvious joke and got sent down before some poor victim managed to catch up with him. I don't reckon the police would've got him if Dessie was still around even though Dom the nonce was always an embarrassment.

I'd like to hear about this. Paul Ferris has some interviews on here and I think he would've done all of his time in Scotland given that the law is different there and they have prisons for Scottish prisoners. I don't think that someone sentenced in Manchester would get sent to Barlinnie for example or vice versa but I could be wrong. And he might have done time in England anyway. There's a serious gangster from Glasgow who also worked in Liverpool and was even a suspect in the Jill Dando murder case because he was a serious hitter, like the kind of person MI5 hire to take out someone in the establishment and then frame some daft bastard like Barry George who did 8 years for that murder. I wont say his name but Sam might know who I mean and you might as well. A serious guy and basically always kept a low profile but did do time for murder/might still be doing time.
