- Hey @everyone and welcome back to another episode of things i wish were easier to keep track of in STFC. Today we're going to discuss the Primes in Star Trek Fleet Command. Which ones have a free path (reminding Scopely that ALL of them need a free path eventually) and of course a spreadsheet that you can use as a community to quickly check for yourself.

Absolutely, there needs to be a f2p route for Primes along with everything else in the game, extra docks, ability to research more than 1 at a time etc, but as we know Scopley (the overlords) couldn't care less about f2p which is a shame

Every prime (and ship and feature etc etc) needs ftp sourcing on DAY 1!!! I don’t care if it takes 1000 fancy particles and you give me a path to one per day. You just need some kind of sourcing so I can make an educated decision regarding whether to pay to get it sooner!
I know the Voyager training provides a path to prime particles, but the trade commerce step is just too slow. I’m on about 9k out of 100k and I’m a daily player at this rate it will be 2025 before I complete this step. Scopely could get some goodwill back from the community if they reduced this to a more realistic 20-25k.
No argument Brian! There are a couple of small ways to increase it (Borg summons/tDQ traders) but, the odds are so poor =/
Yes every Prime needs a F2P route.
Please add Prime Dolamide Particles to voyager’s refinery.
Hold off on getting the $5 Prime Efficient Ship Parts and $5 Prime Efficient Engineering packs in the store. Wait until in your 40s when the full unlock packs appear. Save yourself the $$
I would suggest that they make prime particles free with the 1 or 2 Allegiance boxes. so it should take you from 2-4 months to get a full unlock to research on one of the primes and then grind for the next one. At this rate with the drop of primes, a F2P will never catch up. I would even put some prime particles on the battle pass at the end and also the season pass. this now gives more F2P an opportunity to keep a good pace on the research. Not a hard idea & plan to make all primes for free.

Getting the prime particles from the voyager tree is literally a year away. The insignia requirements actually block the ability to obtain the prime particles in the last leg

Pay to progress (or pay to catch up for people who joined later) is fine... but everything should have a free-to-play path. Also, something like the whip could have a FtP version as well... that you can't buy, but a spender could end up with 2...

Everything should have a f2p path. 6-12 months seems pretty reasonable. Primes, skins, ships, and officers. Also, packs should not disappear, like ever, till purchased.
Yea give us the primes!!!! All the research I have left to do now are the primes and each one is $99.99 that I don’t have and I’m not paying. Another thing how about making all the gift chest bigger and giving us poor things under level 44. Some extra resources that the big whales don’t get.
F2p path to primes (after 12 to 18 months perhaps) would be nice, but scopely could also reduce the pack price over time. Most f2p players are that because of the high prices for packs. Have an actual sale once in a while

Yes, every prime should eventually be free. Also there are some primes that are almost pointless now that aren't free.

totally agree......
One of the things that might be going against us getting some of these Primes available for F2P is that a number of them share currencies. Then you have people like DJz that thinks it is acceptable if the F2P path to paid content lasts for YEARS!!! That is not acceptable. 6 months to a year after initial release at most should be the acceptable time table to unlock any paid content.
Can scopely please enable more of the primes a path for light spenders
It should be Obvious that EVERYTHING needs a F2P path. Strangely enough they had the right Idea at the start and went away from it, the primes for a level range should use the resources from the next grade material. (Ex. the primes that require 4* materials that unlock before Lvl 40)
and here is an easy way to implement it. add a refinery potion for every level material So at lvl 19 I default to 2* at the appropriate level like it currently is Now add a refine option for 3*,4*,5*, and 6* the refine has one refine option for Commons and make it a Guaranteed of the current smallest option in each grade (DO NOT PLACE A COOL DOWN ON THIS REFINE) then have the uncommon refine from commons, rare refine from uncommon, Ect. for example my Ops 39 account has the smallest 4* common chance as 30 so make the default 30 for the 40,000 raw material then a 100 to 1 for Common to Uncommon, Uncommon to Rare, Rare to Epic so for example Prime Federation Tribute requires 2,000 6* uncommon gas if I use the 4* numbers as an example 2,000 Uncommon would be refining 200,000 Common and to refine that I would need 8 Billion raw 6* gas to F2P refine this one prime (faster if I reach 60+) this gives an option to both make all primes available and guarantee that those who are going to purchase them get considerable time with their advantage retaining the motivation for purchase for the non graded prime currencies place a refine folder with each material and make them refinable by multiple 4* raw materials Ex. Syndicate prime particles make the refine 5 with a 22 hour timer at the cost of 10,000 raw crystal, 10,000 raw ore, and 10,000 raw gas for a 30,000 total price tag. (make this the ratio for all non graded particles) 200 refines and you have prime Syndicate XP. This will allow them to be attainable with 2 million raw 4* of each type and roughly 7 months of daily refines. this makes it both time consuming to complete and reasonably attainable. This also generates an option for new mining crews (4* mining speed and LD Warp range Officers to make it easier to mine the necessary materials. (Officers that maybe become part of a static flash pass group so random Epic, random Rare, and 4* mining officer) make the 4 Officers 1 Epic with Captains ability (basically a 4* version of DuPont) and 3 Rare with a 4* mining bonus to a single graded material with a LD warp range boost (mirror Cadet Scotty's Ability) these can be a synergy group. all of this should be, relatively, easy as none of this is really new mechanics just a rearrangement of existing options and it would go a long way toward making the low/non spending player base feel more appreciated.
By making special currency for primes it was clear scopely moved away from pay to progress model. Also the voyager loop would be reasonable if it took 6 months but realistically will take 2yrs+
NEED F2P path for every Prime!!! Also give me bonus ship parts like the mats get!!
I mostly ignore Primes because they require purchasing. Especially the more recent ones that break the game.
I'd probably be ok if every prime had a free path, but you couldn't get them all concurrently for free. Like, you could earn enough free particles to unlock half the really good ones. Any half you choose.
A f2p path is the difference between pay to progress, which is typically healthy, and pay to win, which isn't
I agree, a FTP path should be there. Not also for the primes but things like extra dry docks which are essential in order to do multiple grinding and mining they seem to want everyone to do!!
100% all the primes need a F2P path, same goes with an extra research queue, extra builder and extra dock. as early as ops 36 you start needing all 4 docks to do solos, 3 main ships+support, at ops 39 you have access to 3 supprt ships but only 5 docks, and with the Pickle at ops 40, you need one dock just to auto grind with that sucker leaving you 4 docks free for your 3 war ships and 3 support ships.
Pls Rev tell it to supreme lord's to make a way to get a f2p way to get all the primes even if to get those have to pass 7 months

Every item in STFC should have a f2p path, thats how all f2p games i know do it. Spenders gonna spend early anyway, they dont even want to wait a single week.

100% all primes need a path to unlock them for every player, yes get spenders a 6-12 month advantage, but stop locking the rest of the game out, if they dont pay!
F2P routes are a must for the game to continue or eventually the f2p base will leave

Let's be honest, free2prime across the board is never, ever going to happen.
I thought there was a law passed stating that if the company advertises free to play, everything must be unlockable without spending money.
It is false advertisement otherwise.
