USS Essex Conducts LCAC Operations During RIMPAC 2022

- PACIFIC OCEAN (July 24, 2022) Landing craft, air cushion (LCAC), assigned to Assault Craft Unit (ACU) 5, conducts amphibious operations with Wasp-class amphibious assault ship USS Essex (LHD 2) during Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC) 2022, July 24, 2022. Twenty-six nations, 38 ships, three submarines, more than 170 aircraft and 25,000 personnel are participating in RIMPAC from June 29 to Aug. 4 in and around the Hawaiian Islands and Southern California. The world's largest international maritime exercise, RIMPAC provides a unique training opportunity while fostering and sustaining cooperative relationships among participants critical to ensuring the safety of sea lanes and security on the world's oceans. @@RetiredSailor60 that makes me sad.........could easily fit a 20 mm............maybe even a ram launcher..............hope they have a javelin and a law or two on board........the new light machine gun would be a good choice.............I'm so sad right now
