Thanks for Watching!!!
The nut/bolt on the transmission coupler was hitting the underside of the belt pulley gearbox. It ground off after running.
It’s great that it’s moving now! Hopefully it won’t be hard to get the rest of the bugs sorted. I do hope you keep it straight piped. It sounds so good!
Awesome buddy, in the process of going through the stuff I kept I found 2 gallons of Meadow Green brand new never opened paint to donate to Ross’s restoration Ranch
That's great Ross, you'll sort out the clutch no problem. Thanks for sharing your struggles and achievements with us all. All the best from England. Peter 🚜🇬🇧
Drove a MM RTI with a broken exhaust manifold 5 miles over the road, when i shut it off at my destination i realized all the gas in the tank maybe 6 gallons was at a loud rolling boil.
Now I’m curious to know what the ticking noise is after you got it running. Good video Ross.
I have two 1949 77 with the left hand pto lever with the old style seats with the back rest
Now for the fine tuning phase. Encouraging to see a salvage beast running and driving.
Hey look, another Oliver that can go back to work
Great job, always educational and fun. Thanks for sharing.
Engine sounds great. Another cool project.
If the battery cable colors are wrong, use black electrical tape to wrap a section of the red (ground) cable near the battery clamp as an indicator to think about them. They do make red electrical tape so you could wrap the other cable with that.
My old lady will ask when I start chuckling while watching a video, are you watching Ross. Usually my answer is yes it’s Ross or Chris Losey.😅😅
Happy runner!! Idles clean Mr Ross
The John Deere green paint really looks great on that old Oliver.
After getting everything fixed up getting on a tractor and having it moving with you on it is pure happiness. It's a beautiful thing.
Great video Ross. Great job getting the ole 77 going down the lane and hearing it run is a far cry from wear it was going to end up. Thank you for saving another piece of Oliver history.
Good to see others ride the struggle bus the same as I do on a daily basis. Keep up the good fight!
Can’t beat a free tractor that you can safely from the scrap yard
always surprises. the day I bought farmall m the guy was seeding oats with it he said "carb needs adjustment" I hauled it home drained oil pan it filled two 5gallon pails with gas
Boy the motor runs nice . Great find Ross ,see ya tomorrow
That hammering noise is new it never had that before unless something else was injured at thee ole tractor pull
Yeah!!! Good job Oliver Man! It sure sounds good and operate! Proud of you buddy!!!
That's fabulous!!! Hopefully, it's a minor adjustment to fix the clutch issue. Thanks for the video. Take care and I'll see you later.
Nice job Ross!
Can’t beat that for a free tractor. Hope you can get that clutch adjusted without taking it all back apart.
Nice tractor! Definitely worth the attention
Keep the 'Flat Tire Guy' in your thoughts today. He's having surgery today and I'm hoping everything goes according to plan. Speaking of the scrapyard, one of my Allis buddy's works in a big one. Yesterday he called to see if I'd be interested in a 5 bottom 565 that came in. Hell yes!
Always enjoy watching a success story. Many years ago, a friend of mine, her family had one of these that had not ran in years. I don't know if her brother ever got it running but it was in pretty decent shape. There are still a lot of these out there if you look for them.
Struggling... Yeah I can relate. I did pretty good Monday morning but in the afternoon everything had to fight me...😡
Sound real good and for free you can’t beat the price just needs a little more TLC
Good job saving another beauty Oliver!
good job
😊😊 HI ROSS IVE never heard that be 4 need 2 check rear and the transmission it may need oil 🛢 😮 and that sound may be a bearing making noise keep a check ✔️ 😊 on it 😊😊 OMG 2 4 2O25
Run nice
Bought a 4020 J D and a loader that had been on the tractor. Put the loader back on the tractor. They run the loader off the remote cylinder hook ups. What a mess! Moved tractors around in the shed yesterday. I let the tractor idle and warm up. The loader raised up all The way in about 10 minutes. When I get it replumbed , guess I need to replace some O rings.
I'm an old Oliver mechanic, still pulling wrenches. Oliver had some of the finest tractors produced back in the late 60's and 70's
I am definitely with your I am against them stupid resistors just buy the corner with the resistor right in it one last thing that goes wrong
Great job Ross!
great video the ole tractor has some bugs in it but the can be fixed fairly easy I'm guessing thank you for the video
Great video!! I like the ending
Ya know, just as a novelty, my White's PTO shield caused me trouble last year from being bent, don't know how that happened, anyways I have a 2020 John Deere 450E 4x5 round baler that has a collar guard on the PTO that has been pretty well deleted from hitting the shield. So I now have the honor of spending $200 on a new collar or just take it off, option 2 is my choice at this time! I've been riding the struggle bus with you, but not the same issues. I also am struggling on my three point arms, trying to extract two sheered off bolts that are not only hardened, but I also don't have the best of tools or situation to take them out, sadness abounds. Sorry for all the self pity here, sometimes a guy needs to cry a little. It's good to see the old timer moving again, sounds good, just a little more work to iron out the kinks, thanks Ross.
Where do you get your cans of green paint.
Ross, Ross, Ross, I’m totally surprised that you did not change the steering shaft. I would have thought you would have at least welded it up and ground it back to semi normal size. Making it more better ! Then you did not put a lock washer on the home made hanger . Not good.✌🏻🙏🏽🇺🇸
Ross the Oliver Man works in mysterious ways.
@ he sure does but don’t mention anything about liquid type wrenches. lol. He does know his Oliver equipment for sure.
👍👍
👍👍👍👍👍
Seems like I remember that 1st gear on these Olivers is just a bit lower than the competition? Does anyone else remember if that's correct?
I think 1st gear is about the same as most other brands. Oliver and Deere had 6 gears back when most others had only 5
I bought a brand new sediment bowl just like yours and it leaked too. Junk
You can fix it Ross..
😄😄👍👍👍
Take junk and make it work!!!!
