idiot bk likes 50 plus degress get some 2 stroke juice like vg garage
To ride snowmobiles, should go up towards Thief River FallsMN and do factory tour of Arctic Cat,,then 50 miles north go to Roseau MN and factory tour of Polaris!! (if arctic closes could be the last winter to do this...)
Is there any possible way to do a will it run on the red international truck in the corner? There aren't many of them trucks around and are fading into obscurity, so I think it would make a good video idea. They are 6v positive ground.
WE NEED ANOTHER VIDEO ON THE WAGONEER!!! It would be nice to fix it up, maybe a 2 inch lift or something
Out of morbid curiosity whatever happened to the orange/red Mopar satellite?
I've rebuilt a '97 4 banger 5 speed before. It had an exhaust leak and the owner complained of low power and low oil pressure, had almost 300k. After a compression test, found it had a dead cylinder. Its been like this for several years. Replaced the head, fixed the exhaust, and it ran amazingly!! Be aware that's a flat tapped cam. Just Jeep things. On a side note, I want that Chicago and North Western Railroad Sign in the back.
I think my Dakota has the same set up and it just 100k it also had a horrible exhaust leak
good eye!
I had an 88 Dodge Caravan with the 2.5L turbo and a 5spd manual (factory), until the oil pump seized and the van burst into flames while I was driving it.
I love my 97 2.5! 225,000 miles n still going...
I had a ‘93 with the 4.0 and the 5 speed. Never should have let it go.
Great night. Just finished POLE BARN GARAGE NEW EPISODE...NOW A NEW JUNKYARD DIGS. GREAT LINEUP
hahah same!!!
Me three!
Don’t forget Tom’s refurb
Same here,Dalton needs to pull out the engine & put a different one in it that's got some horsepower behind it like a big block
Me too
As soon as you said it had a 4-banger, I thought "She'll run"!!! I got one of those 2.5L in my Comanche and they just won't die. Keep an eye for collapsed lifters, and run diesel or high zinc content oil, since these have flat tappet lifters and she'll run forever!
My Dakota has the same engine that just hit 100k I definitely need to add zinc to it.
They’re great little engines, my 97 has 267k on it, bought it brand new
The old iron puke. AMC/Jeep sourced them from general morons.
Man, I would have loved to see you guys do this to that ancient Model A(?) next to the YJ
Considering all the cool cars there they picked the most boring one.
Pretty sure there’s a few more from the property they will be doing
I’m hoping they get to it too!
I absolutely agree don't let the model t go to the scrapper save it
That would be interesting
0:05 OMG! I love that Angus has gone full time with you on JYD. He is so funny and really adds to the channel.
Angus is fine… but it seems he has allowed Mook’s silliness and torture of Kevin to move off screen, which is probably great for her, and peace for all on screen talent. But we could do with a little more WAARR being yelled over Kevin’s ‘peace’, carbatater, and boogerscopes, and of course most importantly: spiders.
My YJ had a grounding issue that I couldn't solve for a while. Had a stumbly idle, headlights would dim at idle when radio and lights were on, and the horn wouldn't honk consistently (you'd press it and half the time it worked, but it would stutter like it had a bad connection), but it still ran. In 2022 I replaced the headlights because they weren't too good, and found the left was labeled 94' and the right labeled 96'. I cleaned up the connections for good measure before installing the new sealed beams, and the idle was solid, lights stayed consistent, and the horn worked. The electrics are crappy, but the 4.0 is fun to drive when it works, and you can park it in any compact space.
my horn did the exact same thing as his did at 38:21 . You'd slam on it because someone cut you off, but it wouldn't honk or stutter.
Prolly a poor ground somewhere. The speedometer wasn't cable controlled by 93'.
edit: i'm leaving comments as I watch.
The old 30s coupe in the background is pretty badass, congrats on the great opportunity for so many revivals on one property.
Yea spot on, i’m trynna ID It now…
@@WilksGRendai 32 chevy or something apparently.
I have a couple of these Jeeps and will tell you they were the best Wrangler ever made. The purist hate the square headlights but I think they look good.
Simply the best, love the old yj tanks
I prefer the square headlights myself.
Unfortunately, when I looked into buying one, I really wanted OBD-II and the square headlights were phased out the same year.
Hell yeah love when I get a notification saying Kevin posted
Same
Bought a near mint 94 YJ 5 speed manual with the 2.5L angry squirrels in 2017 when I was stationed in Montana -- was my daily driver for 3 yrs there -- great in snow -- I had to do a new fuel pump too. In 2020 I retired from military & moved to Florida & the Jeep came with. It's still my daily driver -- They're simple vehicles to work on. The 2.5 is almost as bulletproof as the 4.0 but gutless BUT that's not a problem if you aren't wheeling in mountains or towing stuff. Wouldn't daily drive if I had to hit interstates. But 2.5 is plenty powerful for tooling around dirt roads & local traffic.
There is something to be said for keeping the jeep light weight with the 2.5 liter.
@@mikespangler98 Mine was near OEM so I decided not to mess with doing anything that couldn't easily be switched back.
My weekend is saved 🎉
Thanks Kevin 😊
Ps?
@@joew9796 what
With a place like this, offer the bank a number for the property and contents and take everything.
Then you would have much more time to go through everything.
Never know what you may have forgotten.
I think they said they bought all the vehicles
Lets go! I love YJs, have 3 myself. Was super excited last video to see it, glad it was the very next video!
Oh my gosh!!! So much great content this Friday, NOW WE GET JUNKYARD DIGS AS WELL!! LETS GOOOO!!! Woohoo!
Well the cool thing about a 2.5 is it doesn't have enough power to hurt itself. You can beat on it, cook it, run it low on oil, cook it again, and it will still run.
Go get the older truck next to the Jeep too. Doesn't matter what it is, get it. Those style vehicles are almost all gone.
yea the YJ's have alot of popularity my dad had a 95 when i was really young in the early 2000's
Every time I go up to NH for skiing, right now I have a broken collarbone, junkyard digs is posting at the right time
I have a 91, originally was a 2.5 5spd like this one. The 94s are good because you get an external clutch slave cylinder, and the frame and body got better anti rust treatment (not that it makes much of a difference). That 2.5 should last a while, mine got a bunch of blow-by at 220k miles and did it again about 2 months after a shadetree basement refresh of the engine. Mine has a 357 SBC in it, they're very easy to put engines in because there's no crossmember under the engine.
You guys should totally get that Sonoma in the background going and if its clean that could be made into a decent track day truck. They handle great
That's an SLS with the ZQ8 suspension, too. like 97-98 had Bilstein shocks, and after that they were deCarbon I think. It was a long time ago. They look awesome with those repurposed 92 Camaro rims the factory gave them.
that old garage probably had good memories listening to you two work on that jeep with those tools in the shop. one last hurrah before shes torn down
Heck yeah, I've been pumped for this jeep since seeing it in the last episode. I learned how to drive a stick in one of those old YJ's, great little jeeps!
We have a 93 YJ! That thing has taken a licking but keeps on ticking. I LOVE my Jeep! I'm so glad you guys are rescuing this! 😁❤
So excited. Super happy that your working on the jeep
If you would like some cold weather, come to PA we just had half an inch of freezing rain/sleet and some snow with a windstorm, and we get more sleet/rain on saturday. Nice to see some Jeeps on the channel, ive had many over the years and ive got a 72 Jeep Commando now, lots of fun to run around the woods in!
7 minutes!!! New record!! Gonna be a good one Kevin! Hell yeah brother!
I always look forward to seeing your new videos in my opinion this seems like the easiest recovery you guys have ever done.
on my 98 XJ, the shift light seems to correspond with "it's in synchro range" for upshifts.
Try letting off fuel and seeing if it goes up a notch without the clutch.
The simple one is come to CO, take this 4.2 I have, gut it and build a 4.5 stroker for the wrangler. Feel free to adopt the 3.07 8.25 i got taking up floor space too. (needs bearings)
I want to thank you Kevin, and Angus too. I have a 1995 YJ with the 2.5 and a 5 speed, it was my first vehicle right afyer i turned 16 nine years ago, and you've brought me back from about scrapping it because i grenaded the rear end and decided "great time for an engine swap, let's put in the 4.0!" But this video has made me double down on fixing it back up and getting it back to the Blue Thunder i know and love. ❤
Thank you Kevin, I had a shitty day today and this is just want I needed to unwind, an hour of automotive shenanigans.
14:52 The close up on your Edison Motors jacket is EPIC
Yeah!!! it’s been so long man I hope I can somehow meet you one day lol love the content from Ontario Canada
YES!! The second I saw the jeep in there I knew you were gonna go for it!!
Finally! My homework buddies are here to keep me entertained.
ABSOLUTELY---> OUTSTANDING!!!!!!!!!!. 🙂
I really wanna see them do That old car sitting next to the jeep
I thought the same thing, I'm guessing it's spoken for. No way it's getting scrapped and Junkyard Digs wouldn't rescue it.
Love these old jeeps. Cant wait to see it truly fixed up.
The head gasket in my explorer blew on my way home from welding school today. Fun times
That sucks, but they didn’t earn the nickname “exploder” for nothing.
Ford exploder
Kevin find a 4.0 and 5spd from a 95-to I forget, but google it… it was done to my jeep and it gets rid of that Puegot transmission and the 4cyl comes with 410 gears. I had a maybe 3” lift and it was perfect with 35” tires. Locker in the front and rear it was unstoppable on the trails… and rode down the road fantastic. Had it for 12 years and only sold it after I was paralyzed. It had 287,000 miles on it when I got it and honestly didn’t ck mileage when it was sold for 1000 more than I paid for it. But if you do that you will love it. Good luck, have watched all your videos and look forward to every new one. Peace brother
Bro i think i saw you at the harborfreight on merle hay in des moines one time. It was the greatest moment of my life. Also first!
This is all I’ve been looking forward to ALL WEEK!! Thank you!!
Im so early, my wife has second-hand disappointment!
LMAO
I'm so early my wife divorced me! 😂
But at least you had fun right? Sounds like her problem...
😂😂😂 poor Ole Gal she's disappointed 😂😂 But I'm pretty damn Happy 😊
ROFL!
I was hoping you wouldn't leave that behind. It looked like you might in the last video. Also a Wrangler YJ in one piece is ALWAYS good because parts are 15 cents.
Been waiting all week for a jyd vid keep em comin its my weekly release of dopamine keep up the great work guys
Seriously cool jeep, I hope that old model A was saved that was next to it in the barn.
That whole hammer sequence at 30:45 was just comedy gold 😂
woohoo its jeep day!!! almost as good as el camino day to me, but still woohoo!
Another great 👍 project. I enjoyed having a few beers and a laugh hanging out with you and Angus..
0:41 let me know if I can buy the Jeep!! I love jeeps and to have one you have worked on would be awesome!
Kevin, you have got me really into cars, especially old cars. I love watching your videos and the comedy that you and your friends do.
I broke the serpentine tensioner bolts on my uncle's 94 Cherokee, that has sat only 8 years. Then found the wiring harness under the air cleaner box was corroded. Tried to clean it and the coupler disintegrated in my hand.... make AMC great again. Yes I said it, why? I hate Crapsler. I think if I'm going to save the TJ. I will do the Chevrolet 4.3 Litre customod. Complete with a 700r4 NP208 transfercase mod. Yeah, as much as I like Toyota Aisin Transmissions. I like all my gears selectable even with an automatic. Makes me appreciate me 72k10 with a 350 all the more.
I want 4.3 Vortec NV3500 in my YJ instead of the Iron Duke. Good luck.
@jeffrentsch4318 His is a 4.0L with an automatic. As much as I'd like a stick. It's not worth the headache. I might use a 400turbo or a 350 turbo if they're mated to a good transfer case. They used to be reasonable. I'm sure some mush head would say drop an ls in it. I like an engine I can work on and leaves me enough room to work on it. Yours could probably handle the Cummins 4cyl. Swap with a fullframe. TJs being unibody can't so 4.3 it is. Nothing wrong with a 4.0. I liked the one in it. It's just too Jeepy to work on. The 4.3 being a small block minus 2 cylinders makes it inherently simple. Blessings on your endeavor as well. I put an NV4500 in my 72. I liked the idea of something heavier than I should ever need. The 3500 is a good and a lot lighter weight, also considering your GVR is way lighter than my 72 you'll be good with it. Stay safe out there 👋
just buy a s10 blazer 4x4 at that point.
first ever revival I ever did was a 1986 cj7, glad to finally see another jeep on the channel
I see a junkyard digs video, I watch a junkyard digs video
Lordy lord the rust underneath that Jeep is amazing!
It's like a whole other car under there! !
Love the videos man your absolutely amazing you make my dad every time you post a new video
Idk why but your videos are the best to fall asleep to, and I was already dozing off a few minutes ago, so this is gonna be nice
Never clicked on a video so fast
Another great video and revival! Can't wait to see the video on the Willys truck!! That's one nice find for sure! Not too common to see one of those around.
Is this the first jeep on the channel? Aside of your brother's cherokee maybe. You could get those YJs with no radio back then. My sister had one for a number of years, it was a cool rig, just a little underwhelming
Its always a good feeling when i get a notification that there's a new JYD video
Nope pole barn garage
How are there 92 comments in 9 minutes? This fan base is absolutely dedicated. You guys need to start doing the low buck club like PBG
Love the safety squints while using the air dremel, at least it's not a torch.
Its illegal to be this early
Your friend Angus was an absolutely brilliant addition to the channel.
JEEP= Just Empty Every Pocket!
It's a Jeep. It'll either be fine or it'll explode.
Always wanted a 96 Wrangler, mainly because of watching Jurassic Park as a kid. Can't wait to see you guys fix this one up. Or for that other Jeep pickup you teased
I think they said last week that that gentleman passed away and had no family to pass things on to looks like he had a passion for cars.feel a little sad watching them go through all of his stuff
I'd like to see more on this. The Wrangler looks like fun!
Kevin, why are you mucking about with a boring Jeep when there is, what appears to be, a Ford Model A just sitting there?!
I second this
That was my first thought as well. Jeeps suck, that model A has a ton of potential
Then click a different video and bugger off.
I helped my neighbor with his wife’s mini van and when we were done, he ask if I was interested in his 2004 Jeep Wrangler, I said I didn’t have the money to buy it and he said, oh you can just have it because I don’t want to fix it up. The jeep runs and drives great it just needed rear shocks, a rear brake line and rear tires. I bought a new soft top for it and it needs a little rust repair but I’ve been driving it for months and really like it.
Stock Jeeps are fun as hell to beat on. You got a pretty decent one there.
I wonder if i am the only one that skips the brake rebuilding part of EVERY video? Gotta love it!
Godspeed. My 92 is terrifying to drive when it’s happy.
Yes Kevin thank you so much for another upload. I got scared of the worst hoping for the best. Thank you for making another amazing video
i wait for the upload every week kevin!! Keep it up kevin Love from Ireland ❤!!
Just made our weekend better brother
I’m glad you guys went back to that yard. I like that little TJ.
42:50 Dalton? But I know he smokes either Lucky strikes or American Spirits lol great video as always Kevin and Angus
Best revive an drive guys on UA-cam!!! I'll drink to that!!!
I’ve been waiting for the YJ video!
35:48 I'll have to keep this in mind to help my buddy fix his! Thanks for the tip
5:47 "Start now start now start now start now start now" is all I can hear
hope you got that hardtop and this one deserves a polish and inside detail too along with the wash for sure
49:07 the face of "gawd dammit" lmao cant wait to see the update on this one and the older jeep!
I really want to see a part two on this jeep doing a head gasket or putting an in-line six in it keep up the great work!
Bring back winter! I miss having snow. I'm just outside Niagara Falls, Ontario and haven't had enough snow to really go out in a couple of years.
Nice to see someone disprove the vacuum gasoline explosion myth and good luck finding snow Iv seen Alaska isnt getting enough to ride maybe you'll end up at the north pole and find some
My late wife had a 95 YJ sport 2.5L that she absolutely loved. I had a 93 Renegade 4.0 l that I miss too. Both were standard trans and really enjoyed and well loved. Mine went topless as soon as the spring ather warmed up enough and stayed that way until the first snow.
Hell yessss finally a jeep 🤘🤘🤘love the channel yall
We here in North Pole should send you some of our snow, we've got around 5 feet on the ground now. And it's +10°f outside 😊
I always liked this era of jeeps with the rectangle headlights
Fun Episode, now I want an old jeep too 🙂 Hopefully you will put on the hard top in the next video on this Jeep
Do the Coupe next!! Pretty please!
Oh yeah and the fleetline
Had so many cool memories in a jeep like that.
That's a pretty sweet unit!
I remember the last video and it had that pedal vespa, hope you saved it too, I bet it's a fun thing to use if it runs
48:57
Remember Angus, cameraman never dies. Don't be afraid
You have the best of luck on finding these amazing vehicles. Yet another awesome vehicles I would love to own!
