woooow! Accra is also the capital of Ghana. Never knew it's also the name of a food. You learn something new everyday.
We also have a hard semi-sweet coconut biscuit called ‘Lababad’ which is Barbados in French (La Barbade). We love naming stuff after places 😂
I can't believe you didn't break one in half for us to see! That's the part everyone looks forward to lol
Did this today and my Accra came out awesome 🎉my Dominican daddy gave it 10/10 🎉❤
Wonderful!
I just love the way how you blend the seasonings instead of chopping them up. I am not too fond of the seasonings so it's better when you blend them. Well done and a big thumbs up to you
That looks delicious! We also make that dish in Haiti 🇭🇹 , but that particular dish we call it marinad instead of Accra. The Accra that we make in Haiti we make it with malanga instead of flour
Love accra. Make them most weekends. I learnt watching my aunt. 🇩🇲🇬🇧
Here in Barbados we call them fish cakes..we drop d batter into little balls/puffs
Hi Terri -Ann your granny is right about the baking powder, I always chop my seasonings for my fritters ,but I look all your videos great job one love ,I'm from Jamaica but I always thinks most Caribbean cook the same food ,but different names ,awesome job you're good in kitchen
Thank you :)
Tamarind sauce as a dip will go well ,that’s what I have when ever I make them,or some sweet chili sauce👍🏽
How do you make the tamarind sauce ?
I make this almost every weekend. Its a favorite in my house. Hmmm looks good.
Yesssss!!! I made your beef patties, delicious. Now I know how to make these. All Caribbean is Caribbean with a few tweaks. I had a friend from Barbados that use to make these and they tasted good. I think this will come out just a tasty. I'll make them when I have 3 cups of oil to spare and for a crowd.
Wow. This looks so delicious. I'm going to have my friend make these. 😁
Terri-Ann, this is Chef Rene Hewitt from the TV show, In the Kitchen with Chef Rene Hewitt. That looks outstanding. Gail sent me the recipe and thank you so much. When I use this recipe on my show, or any Social Medias, I will definitely mention your name.
Thanks, keep up the great work and stay in touch.
I use a similar recipe but with hot peppers n shadow benni in mine . I don't use baking powder . I usually allow mine to sit for a few hours so the flour can well absorb the seasoning n saltfish .keep up the great work
Sit in the fridge I'm guessing?
You got to be a Trini. Shadow benni. I see this a lot now in recipies, but when I left Trinidad decades ago I did not know about it. I guess they did not cook with it in our home.
Lovely. In nigeria we call it akara and it’s traditionally made with beans
Amazing tutorial, thanks for sharing :)

Yes sure :)
Accras, I make them regularly. In Martinique we eat them all the time 😊 I always have salfish in my freezer ready because if I have people visiting I make Accras quickly.
