I needed this. It has been so difficult studying & staying focused during covid.
I'm finishing my MAcc in the next few months, and I'm contemplating going after a CPA license. I appreciate you making this video.
Great video. I like how you define “laziness” and “burnout”.
Strategizing my CPA Exam studies. Nervous. I start my journey March 1st!!!
I love your videos!💕💕 This has motivated me as I am studying for the exam this summer
Stephie thank you so much for your sister's advice! It really helped me a lot! I really need that motivation to keep me continue persuing this...
You're very welcome! You got this 💗
Thanks for answering my question! :) I realized my lack of a plan made it harder for me to structure how and where to begin my study.
I'm glad to be of help! Good luck on your studies and please let me know how it all goes!
So helpful. Needed this today :) thank you soooo much
Love your videos trying to watch as many as I can
I really am so grateful for your videos. I have been feeling so discouraged and this really helped me push through my studies! I love the idea of a coaching program!
Thank you so much love! I did a test run and really enjoyed it. I'm getting the logistics set up and will share it when it's live 💗
Thanks for reminding me how far I've come to even be in the situation to study and sit for the exams. It really helped me to get my second wind!

Eeekkkkkk sending all the positive vibes and luck your way 🙌🙏
Stephie Mills Aww, thank you!! 😊
Thanks for tips
Hey Stephie, thank you for such an insightful video. I would really appreciate it if you did create a video going through process walk-through.
I'll definitely do that 💗
Thanks for the tips girl. I have an issue with saying everyday "I'm going to start tomorrow.... I'm going to start tomorrow" and when tomorrow comes, I say the same thing... Suddenly months have gone by and I haven't looked at my book once. I'm taking a part time job in July so that I can refocus on the CPA exam (I work FT in public tax right now), but afraid I will still be unable to get that motivation back. My brain keeps talking me into saying this isn't worth it, just to justify why I haven't done it. It's so frustrating!!!
I definitely understand the feeling. Sometimes it takes a little time to get back on track!! It will be worth it in the long run, promise!!
Hey Stephie! I just finished my first year of college!🤗 And I'm still deciding between finance and accounting, but I am totally watching this video and saving it for future reference *just in case* I choose accounting :)) thank you for this video!!💕💕
You can major in Accounting if you want to sit for the CPA, that way you have the requirements. Then you can take the minor or electives classes in Finance. I was a finance major in college and got an MBA in finance
In finance also and went back to school to get additional credits in Accounting to be able to sit for the CPA. I have been working in the Accounting field now for the past 20 years. I hope that this information will be helpful to you.
Hey steph can you give advice on how to read an understand what your reading.. sometimes I am readying the notes and I am just reading
Ooh my God good I hear this now

Stephie, if you have a chance to answer my question I would be so thankful. Would you recommend taking on a part-time position that is lower in skills to get the CPA?
I work in tax (small firm, but still very demanding with a long commute), and I have two children. I am really struggling to get my CPA. It has been almost 5 years since I graduated college and I have failed FAR twice - I just don't have the time and my mind is melted when I get home from work. I've been offered (and accepted) a part time job at a law firm as an accountant, where I will mostly be doing IOLTA account reconciliations and low-stress work, but it doesn't start for 2 months from now. It is closer to my house, and will offer me more time to focus on studying. I plan to have my current boss certify my experience before I tell them I am leaving.....
But, does this sound like a good idea to you? I know it's my decision ultimately, but would you advise someone to do this to get that CPA at the end of their name? How hard do you think it would be for me to go back into public (tax) after I get the license if I've been working at the law firm for a couple of years? (Hopefully it won't take that long, but I am thinking realistically.) I have 6 years of experience in public tax (of course, 2 of those years were just admin with some light tax prep at a small offce) if that means anything as far as getting hired back in public after I leave and get my CPA.
I have seen people leave PA and take a job with a less intense load to get through the CPA exam so it's not uncommon. I know it's a hard decision but if you really can't see yourself reaching your CPA exam goal with the work and life demands you currently have, I say go for it. It's a sacrifice I'm sure but if it gets you through the CPA exam, then do what you gotta do 💗 Sometimes we gotta put ourselves in less ideal situations if it gets us closer to our goals (like my Big 4 experience lol)
As far as going back into PA afterwards, I think you'll be fine. It will be a matter of how you communicate the change during interviews but I would be VERY surprised if a PA firm passed you up especially with a CPA license to boot.
Great topic though, I'll definitely speak to this in a future FSA video 💗 rooting for you and please let me know how it all goes!
Hey Stephie! 💓Love the green top btw. I need the “Give yourself the chance to pass. Are you really setting yourself up for success?” on a t-shirt 😂 I’m over trying to not focus on the fact that the CPA exam will soon be my new reality but look at all the signs the universe is sending me 🙌🏽. Would you recommend buying Becker and starting to study for the CPA Exam before you get 150 credit hours (during senior year college)? Or wait until graduation and then study with Becker and then set time to take the exams?
Thanks!!!
Thank you love and for real! I need to just have it written out on my wall as a daily reminder in life 🤣
Personally I would hold off from buying Becker and studying for the exam until you're eligible and ready to start sitting for the exam. Most exam prep software have a certain time limit. Becker has an unlimited option which they didn't have when i was studying, but also still has an 18 month limit too, pricing is the difference. Also I feel it's better to focus energy on your degree first, then CPA exam review so the info will remain fresh depending on the section you're taking. That's just my opinion but if you want to start before, more power to you 💗
Hi Stephie, Can you please suggest the books to be studied/ referred for all the four papers of CPA ?
①(③③④)⑦②①⑤⑦⑨⑤
Text him now on WhatsApp
How to stay on top of cpa schedule?
Did you use Becker to study?
Do you prefer reading the books or doing MCQs and simulations?
I personally read the book and did MCQ and simulations. When I passed the exams, I didn't listen to the lectures. I didn't feel it gave me more beneficial info, other than the acronyms but I got those from the textbook in software.
I just love your videos !
Were you an international student at college? I
Thank you! No I wasn't. I attended an in-state community college then university.
Hi Stephie, I would like to have a sisterly talk with you on CPA. As I have started planning to join. Can you please help me regarding this ? How do I get in touch with you?
Can you make a video of some sort of Audit Simulation. (Great Video By the way)
Thank you! I sure can, to clarify- are you talking more about CPA exam audit simulation or real life audit simulation?
Stephie Mills more of a real life audit thank you
Thank you for the tips. You look cute in that outfit:)
Thank you love!
