Sorry to see you got no rain, same overhere, another heatwave going on. Had to switch to municipal watering from rainwater harvested. I'm not going to complain about the lack of water in the Lowlands: all infrastructure here is oriented towards getting rid of water ASAP.
Welcome aboard! Yes, exactly. My motorhome has a pressure switch that changes automatically when one tank gets empty. I prefer to know when a tank gets empty, so i can plan a refill.
Good afternoon and that weather something else out there and I say probably bottled gas is pretty high I have not bought any in years I quit that many years ago and there's nothing wrong with it I growed up that's all we had growing up no problem there and I hope the baby chick turned out all right and probably he had a big fight and whoever it was they're not there anymore lol and you have a good afternoon and a good supper
As a kid, I grew up in a house heated with oil,(#2 diesel), and propane for hot water and cooking. Gradma's house on the other hand, had a coal burner in the basement for heat, a woodburning stove for cooking, and hot water was boiled on the stove for washing. Propane was $3.59/gallon today. I expect $3.89 once the cold hits.
That was the good old days I remember when I grown up living with Dad after their divorce later on that's all we had wood and coal and propane cooking we lived in a big house in the country no insulation in the house we know a lot of crazy things out there and I remember we had going to get coal at the coal mine and the winter time lump cold it was so cold you are shaking but did not take long to get a load that was a good day and splitting wood to the summer by hand then later on in time Dad bought a wood splitter
@@GBear yeah these wipper snappers don't know hard work for just getting by. Kids these days too busy playing games on line and don't even work a real job when they get older. Some work as temps and really don't want to work just collect a paycheck. Well off this soap box 73
I would like to know how long a bottle would last just running an instant water heater one that shuts off when the water shuts off. My wife won't let me put a gas range in the house but only cook tops these days run on gas. Most experts say it's better to bake with electric and most professional stoves are dual energy, gas burners and electric oven. As for me gas cooking will be outside. I myself like to take a butane stove when I travel. Nice to eat a hamburger or hot sandwich at rest areas then back on the road. Saves time and money. I also keep a small cast iron skillet in the car. 73
Nah. I don't shower outdoors in winter. The walk from the shower to the cabin would be brutal! I have a full indoor shower connected to my propane tankless water heater, and a cabin heater that keeps me way sbove the outdoor freezing temps.
Perhaps you could put a few more black barrells on your roof and use a little bit of insulation and a copper tube / coil to heat up the house at night?
Interesting concept! I may apply it to the garden house! Water is a premium, as I don't have a well, and the high wind events and summer heat would make the cabin a poor candidate for solar heat.
It's been at a standstill because of material prices and availability. It was getting better, then inflation skyrocketed and set me back again. Also, temps over 100° everyday make working outside a limited engagement.
Check your listings for a propane repair and accessories place. I bought my 100# tanks through one in my old hometown, used, and only paid $100 each, FULL. Heck, I just paid $89.75 for 1 fillup!
Actually there was a big fire over there, the fire dept showed up and realized it was an illegal grow. Things went from there. Same happened up the road near my neighbor.
It was still inside the chicken run, so Tomcat couldn't got to it, but the other hens will attack any bird weaker than the rest. The real danger was in that. Momma was on guard the whole time.
GBear, please use a flexible rubber hose after your regulator. Everytime you bend the copper line to move it to the next tank, you stress anneal the copper. Eventually it will harden and crack causing a leak or worse. I speak from experience as I worked around copper in low pressure steam environment.
Thanks. I left plenty of extra tubing there, so I don't really have to flex and stress the copper. It moves freely accross all tanks without resistance.
Sorry your being missed by the storms around you. Take those bottles down and Tomcat won't have as good a observation post, maybe put a little windbreak up there.
Best weather report is go outside and turn 360 degrees and look skyward. If you get wet it's 🌧 ,, glaring hot sun May mean no rain today,, clouds overhead anything is possible. 😇🤗 Seriously though flash floods have affected sooo many people in SO many states. The Gila River SW NM last Sunday was 30.28 ft..( about 15' is normal?) flooded lil town of Dunxan, AZ .. Never heard of that in 22 yrs I've lived in NM. Even LV, NV got inundated Twice. Hope you get rain Just not all at one X.. Gotta check out your video on HF solar, I'm in need of some solar information. Thanks for sharing the information . Happy Trails from NM. 🐎
Yeah, news said Lake Mead rose 3 inches this past week. It's really needed. Let me know what in particular you need to know about solar, and I'll try to help.
You can get the updated valves for them old propane tanks if you ever need more propane tanks. Most propane companies around my are will replace them for you.
Yeah, but in this state they also need to be inspected and tumbled, and all that adds up to more than just taking them to a switch out location and getting a new tank already filled. Note though, those switch out tanks are not completely filled. They say it's for safety reasons.
Gbear. Did you know that in Arizona that the Saudis are renting the land in Arizona for their Alfalfa!! Arizona admitted it Plus they can use all the water they want. Many people in Arizona are running out of water. I hope your chickens are ok. Poor babies.
Say, thank you Brandon. The Saudis did the same thing to other western states in the past. They have depleted their own underground water supplies and have come over here with carte Blanc to drill wells deeper than the local farmers and siphon off all the water they want. None of the crop stays here for American use. It is all to feed the Arabian horses.
You are correct, and dual fuel gens are available, but a gas gen is what I have, so i go with it. I add Sta-bil fuel conditioner to my gasoline for longer life, and I do run it regularly so I know it is in top operating condition. Also, I change the oil regularly. Welcome aboard!
@@GBear Glad to be here and appreciate the content! Just a thought to make your life easier.... checked used generators on ebay and Craigslist today and they are selling for the price of new ones in some cases. Yeah, mine is a 6500/5500 generator. What I learned is forget the first number, it doesn't count. Running watts are what you deal with. The start number is for starting under load, but the instructions tell you not to start under load or shut down under load, as it will damage the gen.
@@GBear Hey G Bear, the max represents what is feasible for a few seconds in the case of the start up voltage of an appliance is higher that the running voltage typical for compressors, pumps, or electric motors). Same as peak vs continues for an inverter.
All the more reason to go with the low number. If i had anything that required 6500watts start up, I'd be afraid of it. That's twice what my whole cabin would need if everything I owned was running.
Yes, but you sign a contract that also says that they can fill it on their terms. So if the price goes up, they will fill more often before it goes down again.
I love your cooking stuff and about Tom.
I'll get more cooking stuff soon, as things cool and I start cooking indoors again.
