    Great idea! I’m trying to do the same with several Kwick fish that don’t get any use.
    My concern is the potential to nick the line that runs thru the body of the lure. The drill holes are likely rough, which may cut thru the monofilament as the lure spins. I ran a wire leader thru the body, with a swivel at each end to reduce this potential. I haven’t gotten it in the water yet but it seems promising.

      @@CAPTAINWILLY Also…. Rather than drill two holes, I drilled just the front hole. I left the eye screws in the belly and the back, but turned them 90 degrees (perpendicular to the body). I ran the wire thru the first hole (on the bill), and then thru the belly eye screw and the rear eye screw. Put a split ring and hook at the end. Seems okay.
