Very helpful!!! 💪 another tip is that when you see the delay and you have a plug-in mic all you have to do is UNPLUG your microphone 🎤 and plug it back in and it will fix the delay!!! 😎
I will say that setup is an important consideration for streamers too. The reason I think alot of streamers DONT use cameras from Xbox is where or how they have their xbox set up. If your xbox is in your living room of your apartment and you typically play from the couch, this creates a problem with using cameras. You'll have to either hope it has a lengthy extension cord and somehow set it up somewhere near you which may not always give the most flattering position. And then as someone else mentioned, it's nice when you have a gaming room or study designed for it, but nobody wants randoms just seeing their messy living room or whatever behind them. So definitely people need to consider their environment before deciding to stream content.
Thank you so much! Liked and subbed, you spend so much time and effort into your videos I hope your videos and live streams blow up, keep up the great work man.

Hi! Do you know if there is a way to blur the background when streaming from Xbox x? Does the console support anything like that at all? If not, do you have any tips for streaming through a PC?
I apologize for the delayed response, but thank you for watching and for the question. There is no way to blur the background directly from the console unless your camera itself is both supported by the Xbox and has a small f-value aperture. If you capture your console gameplay, and stream from a PC using OBS Studio, you can artificially create a blurred background on your camera source by using the StreamFX plug-in obsproject.com/forum/resources/streamfx-for-obs%C2%AE-studio.578/

just get me a question please, this web cam model does the bug happen when you change game and the camera image disappears from the live? because I use a Logitech c270 on the s series and this bug happens and I wanted to know if and in this model I'm using
I'm not sure, to be honest. I haven't tested that. I don't personally stream directly from console, but I can probably try testing that sometime this week and get back to you.
I am curious.. If anyone else is having issues getting the USB webcam to work, are you using an Xbox Series X, or Series S? It seems some people have an issue and I would like to narrow in on why. Thank you in advance for any feedback!
Thanks man. I stream directly from my PS5 and would like to eventually start to do so from my Series S. Any tips on how i can use a microphone instead of the headset mic
On PS5, you can use a USB mic. On Xbox, however, you may need an adapter (amzn.to/3Ri1HHJ) plugged into your controller so you can plug an external mic with a 3.5mm jack into it and then your headset to the other side of the adapter for your audio.
So...trying to use my fujifilm mirrorless camera that I have setup to use as a webcam. I use an Elgato HD60S+ capture card. My thinking is that I can connect the capture card to the XBOX so that it will pick up my cameras feed. has anyone tried this?
That won’t work streaming directly from Xbox. You would want to capture the Xbox gameplay with the HD60S+ and then capture the camera with something like the Elgato Camlink 4K (amzn.to/3Kyea7b), streaming using OBS or something similar. I focus more on UA-cam VODs now instead of streaming (I don’t have time to do both), but when I did stream, and many times when I record footage for my videos, I use a Canon M50 Mark II Mirrorless to the Elgato Camlink 4K.
If you haven’t already, try different USB ports, including the front of the console. Also, webcams that require software may not work. I’m not sure if your model does or not, but something to keep in mind.

Sometimes just unplugging and plugging your headset back in will get rid of it. I never stream directly from console, but I know many people do, which is why I made the video. I’ve never used lightstream as @iBleedBlue4 BBN recommended, but I do plan on using it to make another video that can help people. In that process, I’ll likely find a definitive answer to your question if you don’t get one here.
For that, the camera doesn’t matter, any camera will do the trick. However, you need a chroma key (green screen) to remove your background, and you don’t have that feature when streaming directly from an Xbox. The green screen, some proper lighting, and setup in a stream broadcasting software like OBS will get you there. For that, you need to capture gameplay with a capture card and use a PC to run the stream.
Streaming gets a little more complicated than it seems like up front. There’s a lot to learn, but if you learn one step at a time, you’ll get there. When I decided to start streaming, I used my cell phone as a webcam using iVCam. I have a video on how that works. I also have a couple videos on OBS, but there are lots of things out there. My video descriptions usually have links to everything you need, including capture cards, green screen and stand (although a green sheet or something would also work), etc.
I just did this today. I found that my video was super fast but my game audio and chat audio was like 15-25 seconds behind. Any idea why or how to fix?
It’s odd that the game audio was behind as well. Sometimes for chat audio, you just need to unplug and then plug in your headset, and it will sync up. Options for audio being out of sync is extremely limited when streaming directly from a console.
Hey I have a WebCam that says it streams through Xbox and Twitch and everything and seems to work really well for the video but for some reason when I go to Twitch and go to start stream the microphone bar does not pop up and I’m wondering why if you could help me out with that would be awesome
In my experience, the microphone from the camera won't work in the Twitch app on Xbox. Once you connect a headset with a mic, it will detect the microphone.
Nice video... Good info, but regarding the overlays and scenes you can link your twitch account to lightstream website and through there make them and add them. Good streaming be good
Thank you. I am aware of Lightstream, but my understanding is that it used to be free, but now you have to pay a subscription fee. I don’t stream directly from console, but want to make helpful content for people trying to get into streaming.

I should have worded it that upload speed is the important number when considering streaming. 11-12 Mbps isn’t needed, but a decent quality stream will need about that if you have any other devices connected while your streaming.
Thank you for the question. Unfortunately, there is no way to see the chat through your Xbox Series X while playing if you are streaming directly from the console like in this video. You have to pull it up on a separate device, whether that is just your phone/tablet, or a PC.
Yes. You could look into using something like Lightstream (golightstream.com), but if you’re going to use your PC camera and everything, your best bet is to grab a capture card (you don’t have to go with an expensive one.. something like this will do amzn.to/3yMgvHv) and use OBS Studio (obsproject.com), which is free to install and doesn’t have any kind of subscription fee. There are lots of cool (and free) plugins and stuff for OBS Studio as well that can help spice up your stream!
Is the camera delayed, or the audio? For me, the audio was delayed. Sometimes simply unplugging and then plugging your headset back will fix the delay. Options are really limited when streaming directly from console. You could try setting a stream up using Lightstream as well (golightstream.com/gamer/).
I want to get on so that I can have a handcam since I am young and don't want my face out on the internet but I am really excited to start this and have some fun!
@@DocValentino IF YOU HAVE A BLUE YETI OR SIMILAR USB MIC YOU GOTTA USE THE TURTLE BEACH HEADSET ADAPTER,A TWO WAY SPLITTER WITH LABELED MIC & HEADSET PORTS, AND WIRED HEADPHONES
Thank you for the input. I personally use a Blue Blackout Spark XLR mic with a GoXLR. The only reason I tried to get a USB mic working on Xbox was to potentially do a video on it, but I scrapped that idea.
Not for you as you play/stream, but it will be on the stream broadcast. It doesn’t show up on yours because, as the player, it could block something important on the screen.
I am unaware of a full list of compatible cameras other than “Microsoft's streaming platform supports just about any USB webcam on Xbox One” (source: www.tomsguide.com/us/twitch-xbox-one-enable-microphone-webcam,review-5119.html ). The one that I used was Ctronics, a cheap off brand, but I was using and Xbox Series X. It’s possible that you are unlucky enough to have a camera that happens to not be supported. Microsoft support does have a small list of recommended USB webcams that will give the “best experience” here support.xbox.com/en-US/help/friends-social-activity/share-socialize/broadcast-with-webcam
The microphone I use at the beginning of the video is this one - Tonor TC-777 USB Microphone: amzn.to/3mSvWXI. It didn’t work with my Xbox Series X a year ago, but that may have been included in an update. It did work on PS5 a year ago. Anyway.. I’ll have to dig it out, test it, and get back to you.
Sorry for the delay, but my USB mic does not work with the XSX directly. I also found under settings>account>privacy & online safety>app privacy>microphone that is states “You need a headset or Kinect to use the microphone.” Kinect isn’t supported by the new consoles, but since the UI is the same as Xbox One, I’m assuming they had to leave that in there. Either way, it states a headset is needed to use the microphone.
If you have a laptop, the only thing really keeping you from setting up an OBS stream is a capture card. I still use a $60 capture card and a laptop to run my streams, and they look pretty good. I’ve invested in a better camera, mic, and some other things since starting, but if you have the laptop, the rest can be put together on a pretty low budget.
It seems that people have inconsistent issues with that on XSX/S. Even the list given from Microsoft seems to be from the Xbox One generation. Seems like a lot of cameras that worked with Xbox One are giving people issues with the new generation. I can only attest for the specific one that I used in the video… also make sure to go to settings>account>privacy & online safety>app privacy>camera, and make sure the camera on box is checked.
Microsoft support (support.xbox.com/en-GB/help/friends-social-activity/live-streaming/stream-with-webcam) recommends using one of the following to be used directly with your Xbox: For the best experience, we recommend these webcams: Microsoft LifeCam Studio Microsoft LifeCam HD-3000 Logitech C922 Pro Stream Webcam Logitech C930e Webcam
It did have a high delay when I made this video. I have never streamed this way personally, I just wanted to make a helpful video for people that want to stream this way. However, there are a few comments that say just to unplug your headset and then plug it back in, and it will sync. I hope this helps.
Not streaming directly from a console, but there are a few apps that will allow you to use your phone as a webcam on PC. So if you get yourself a capture card for your console and run your stream through OBS on a computer, you can set up your phone as your webcam source.. I used to do it that way.
Not for you playing, but there is a few second delay for watching the stream… there always is for any stream. Higher quality usually adds to longer delay. Also, if someone is watching through the Twitch mobile app rather than a PC, the delay is usually several seconds longer than normal.
I tried testing the USB microphone that I have to see if I could get it set up and it wasn’t working. It is plug and play on PlayStation though... but I don’t think the webcams are. Perhaps my next experiment 🤔
This issue came up before, and he was plugging his camera into the back of the system. He switched it to the USB port on the front, and it worked. I’m not aware of any differences between the USB ports on the console, but I know that was one of the things people are running into.
Not directly to Xbox. You would need to run your stream from a PC and the DSLR camera would need to be connected to a Camlink. There’s a link in the description. That’s how I record all my YT videos and everything with my mirrorless camera, and how I would stream. I’ve cut out streaming for the time being to focus on making YT videos. I personally enjoy making VODs more than being live, and I enjoy gaming more when I’m not live, but I love helping people.
Thank you for the question. I think you have to select your camera position and then go live to see yourself (by viewing your live stream on Twitch or wherever you stream) I will have to get back on and test some things out to verify. Your options are pretty limited when streaming directly from console. I use a capture card and run it through my PC using OBS. With OBS, you can set up all your scenes and test them out without going live, but I understand that’s not an option for everyone.
I know a few others had trouble when using a USB port on the back of the console. Try using the one on the front.. it shouldn’t matter, but it seems to matter sometimes.
@@DocValentino thanks for the reply it didn't make a difference front or back ports, it's the series S wonder if it's something to do with the model of my xbox
That would be an interesting limitation of the Series S model if so. It should work. You have me intrigued, though. I might have to try to get a consensus on people having trouble getting it to work on Series S.
@@DocValentino might not be a bad idea because I've got the exact camera you are using and what you have in the description too, so for me I'm baffled. Just doesn't show up at all must be something stopping it that I don't know about.
@DDeezyy Yeah.. it doesn’t make much sense. I went ahead and pinned the question in the comments soliciting feedback from people having an issue. I’m still a small little channel, but there have been a decent amount of comments on this video, so hopefully we can get some feedback in a few days or something.
Okay.. I won’t be home for the rest of the evening, but I can go through it sometime in the next couple days to see if there’s anything I can think it might be. In the meantime, can you provide the camera you are using?

I wonder if the webcam I bought could be a issue due to its not showing up when I checked later. I got a logitech c310. If its cant there's another one at my nearby store that I did see work on a different video. Or maybe there are some settings at my system i need to change
There isn’t really any setting on Xbox for it. It should just recognize it. If the light is turning on, it’s getting power from the Xbox, but it’s possible it’s just not supported, especially if it’s a webcam that need software to run on PC. Xbox support has a few cameras listed the last time I looked, but many more work with it (the one I used is just a cheap junk one that’s not on the list).
@@DocValentino update: tried again today and it's there now. And not just for one stream, but all of them. Im guessing it just needed some time to process.
So I can connect to my pc to Xbox
New update for this? Can’t seem to find my webcam
So how do you enable switch to store your videos?
When i go to the broadcast tab it takes me to a qr screen sayin broadcasting has moved!
Do u have cam in computer instead of xbox
I got the same one u did but it’s delayed from when I talk, what should I do?
Is the camera delayed, or the audio? For me, the audio was delayed. Sometimes simply unplugging and then plugging your headset back will fix the delay. Options are really limited when streaming directly from console. You could try setting a stream up using Lightstream as well (golightstream.com/gamer/).
@@DocValentinoyou can hear me talk before you see my mouth moving but I will try what you said thank you
Set your stream to normal latency, I did that and it works fine

Very useful! I’ve got a mic within my camera but it doesn’t work snd o have no clue why
Are you saying you got a separate mic or that the camera has one built in? I have not been able to get my USB mic to work on Xbox.
I have a cam but Twitch won't let me have it on. I really don't know how to explain it
I need to know if I can connect my go pro 10 to my xbox
my camera screen doesn’t pop up when i’m on the game ??
Not for you as you play/stream, but it will be on the stream broadcast. It doesn’t show up on yours because, as the player, it could block something important on the screen.
I can't get to broadcast on twitch it keeps saying broadcast moved
What to do..
Is that the camera your making the video with
Not for the main video portions, no.
How do I see chat on my phone while I stream through my Xbox?
Just go to your channel through the Twitch app while you’re live.
The webcam option still doesnt pop up when i plug it in

@@DocValentino thank you so much
Is there a way to flip web cam overlay horizontally or vertically for twitch streams no obs?
Not that I know of
I’m in trouble setting up just the camera to my Xbox
What is that microphone that you are using dose it work with Xbox?
The microphone I use at the beginning of the video is this one - Tonor TC-777 USB Microphone: amzn.to/3mSvWXI. It didn’t work with my Xbox Series X a year ago, but that may have been included in an update. It did work on PS5 a year ago. Anyway.. I’ll have to dig it out, test it, and get back to you.
@@DocValentino plz lmk ASAP thank you
Sorry for the delay, but my USB mic does not work with the XSX directly.
Hey bud I have a question my camera display doesn’t show on my monitor but it show on stream is that normal
Yep. You won’t see yourself on your monitor because it would block areas of your gameplay. That’s normal.. you’re good.
So the messages won’t show neither on the monitor I would need a laptop or another device to keep up with that correct
Yep.. most people that stream straight from console just use their phone or a tablet for their chat.
Ok thank u
My USB camera doesn’t work with my XSX. 🤔🤦🏾♂️
I plugged in my webcam to xbox and it's says it's on but twitch don't detect it please help (Microsoft supports the cam by the way)
I’m not sure how much I can help, aside from trying another USB port on your Xbox. I was using the one on the front of my Xbox Series X.
What WebCam should I get for an Xbox series X please answer this I really need one
Microsoft support (support.xbox.com/en-GB/help/friends-social-activity/live-streaming/stream-with-webcam) recommends using one of the following to be used directly with your Xbox:
For the best experience, we recommend these webcams:
Microsoft LifeCam Studio
Microsoft LifeCam HD-3000
Logitech C922 Pro Stream Webcam
Logitech C930e Webcam
@@DocValentino thx
Thanks bro. Year later and helped a lot!
Thank you! The objective was to help, so I'm glad it did. Thanks for watching and commenting.
it seems has very high delay with mic and cam
It did have a high delay when I made this video. I have never streamed this way personally, I just wanted to make a helpful video for people that want to stream this way. However, there are a few comments that say just to unplug your headset and then plug it back in, and it will sync. I hope this helps.
Can you use your phone ?
Not streaming directly from a console, but there are a few apps that will allow you to use your phone as a webcam on PC. So if you get yourself a capture card for your console and run your stream through OBS on a computer, you can set up your phone as your webcam source.. I used to do it that way.
is there a visual delay?
Not for you playing, but there is a few second delay for watching the stream… there always is for any stream. Higher quality usually adds to longer delay. Also, if someone is watching through the Twitch mobile app rather than a PC, the delay is usually several seconds longer than normal.
@@DocValentino i cant even gt the camera to work. it worked the first time but it hasn’t worked again. tryed everything i can think of too
Can i stream on a GoPro ?
Not directly connected to an Xbox, but you can use it in OBS on a PC.
How do you make sure it doesn’t just use the webcam mic when streaming?

I use Filmora X to edit my videos.
I tried testing the USB microphone that I have to see if I could get it set up and it wasn’t working. It is plug and play on PlayStation though... but I don’t think the webcams are. Perhaps my next experiment 🤔

Hey guys I actually got threw all these settings my camera light comes on when I stream but no video at all can someone please help me
This issue came up before, and he was plugging his camera into the back of the system. He switched it to the USB port on the front, and it worked. I’m not aware of any differences between the USB ports on the console, but I know that was one of the things people are running into.
@@DocValentino ok thanks so much I’ll try it hey you got a sub from me for responding 💯
Thank you! I’m trying to do UA-cam full time one day, and willing to work for it. I appreciate it!
Does anyone know if I could use a normal dslr as a cam?
Not directly to Xbox. You would need to run your stream from a PC and the DSLR camera would need to be connected to a Camlink. There’s a link in the description. That’s how I record all my YT videos and everything with my mirrorless camera, and how I would stream. I’ve cut out streaming for the time being to focus on making YT videos. I personally enjoy making VODs more than being live, and I enjoy gaming more when I’m not live, but I love helping people.
Man I'm so frustrated how do I get my camera to show me on the screen so that I can center it the right way smh
Why doesn't mine work? I have the same camera?

What if my fave doesn't show up even though the light is green on my camera
Your face won’t show up for you on your gameplay screen.. only on your actual stream viewed on Twitch when you’re live.
So for any viewers who might want to know, Logitech C310 does work, but give it 24 hours or so first
