- This setup, including the capture card AND camera, costs less than $120 at the time of this video! That is assuming you already have a PC to run OBS (it doesn't have to be a powerful gaming PC). You can use your built in headset microphone on Xbox while capturing your stream in OBS to stream to Twitch, UA-cam, Facebook and more. It's not the ideal scenario, but it's a starting point if you are trying to get started streaming, but don't have the money to invest a ton of money, and you get the massive capabilities of OBS! I don't do a ton of OBS Studio videos, but I have a few planned, but it can do so much for your stream.

Great video dude, thanks for your help with all this! Helped me a bunch
Thanks a lot your video helped with the finishing touches of my setup. Thank you ❤🎉
Thank you for the video and I wish that your channel keeps growing and growing. ❤️
Thank you! It’s been hard to make videos recently because of my real job demands, but I’m hopeful to keep it growing as well!
I have the same exact capture card love your sweet set up you have
Thank you!
great vid doc. I might pick that capture card up and see how it is. setup seems so simple compared to the rest.
Thank you, Matt! I have used it for a while. It gets hot, but I’ve never had an issue with it, and it doesn’t break the bank.
@@DocValentino hope everything going good miss ur vids. Got a problem I hope u might have a fix for. I stream on twitch and all game video and audio is synced. but when I'm done streaming and rewatch it on the last half game video and game audio go out of sync. I think it's a twitch issue but wanted to ask an expert. it's when I stream from xbox using capture card to pc.
Hey Matt! Everything has been good. I started a new day job, so I’ve been busy crunching my brain with new information. I just need to find a new routine with my schedule now to get back to normally scheduled videos. As for your audio issue.. it’s weird that it goes out of sync on the replay, and it does sound like that would be on Twitch’s end. Replays don’t typically get much community attention, but I know it can be annoying if you’re trying to make a clip from it. I hope you’re doing well otherwise!
That’s really good
you should do a separate video just for the audio portion because ive been trying to find this answer for a minute. I had mic monitoring down on the xbox.
i cant even figure out how to get my headset mic louder than my game audio in obs😂
@@ScrimmSix mis it in the xbox and lower it in obs. Its a hassle but you will find a good mix
My mic monitoring won't even show up on Xbox...
usually doesn't happen unless you have no headset plugged in@@Bear_It_
the only part im super confused about is how to hook up my headset with the capture card.
I have an xbox one and would normally connect my turtle beach headset to my controller. so how do i stream from my xbox through OBS and have it capture the sound from the xbox and me as well as me being able to hear the game. Im just a bit confused.
Closest video I’ve found to solving my issues. I appreciate the length you’ve gone through. I only have a male-male audio jack and an audio splitter. The audio splitter does not do mic/audio, I think it only splits it in two. I’m trying to just use my headset as my mic while also being able to hear the gameplay. So I’m guessing all I need is that splitter? Thanks again for the vid!
Sorry for the delayed response. It sounds like that is probably all you need! Thank you for watching!
@@DocValentino brother I bought all the items on your list and for some reason prolly my fault I can’t get everything together to stream from a Xbox controller to the capture card
HI! Love the Vid! I need help please! I have a Xbox Series X & really want to stream 2K23 on Twitch & should I try this set up with the exact capture card & buy a Splitter? I just want to stream live. Or will I also need a mic? My headset is not wireless but has both Mic & Volume in 1, so all I would have to do is plug in one side of the splitter.
Great video brother! I've been searching for days for a video just like this, all I can find these days is videos promoting "Streamlabs Console no capture card needed" which I tried and is TERRIBLE!
Great stuff thank you! 🙏🙏
There are much better ways than this, but they cost more money. Thank you for the positive comment!
@@DocValentino I literally picked up the elgato HD60 and was live streaming in minutes thanks to your video. Before I found you all I could find was videos promoting Streamlabs Console 💀
Good looking ill remember you for sure much love
So when you muted audio input capture will you be able to hear gameplay? After usb mic is connected
What's the muted audio source you have there ?second, anyway to stop the echo when your on the headphones .. thanks
New to streaming so thanks for the video! Quick question…will the Elgato chat link cable work with other capture cards? I’ll be using a Rybozen 4K. If so, does it just plug into the mic port?
Yes
I have wireless turtle beaches if I link the headset to the console can I still use another mic to talk? Or will that interfere with one another?
Hi! So I have everything set up like you said but in order to hear my mic I have to scream…not sure how to fix this.
Thanks for the detailed video. Any chance you have a diagram with all the connections? It was a little confusing with the splitters. Thanks!
Get chatlink cable pro.
@@AJCoReTV Does the chatlink cable achieve the same thing? I want to use my headset mic for gameplay and the stream
So i am using my blue yeti through the obs and it’s hooked up to my mac via the usb adapter. I can hear myself but nobody can hear me talk when we play. It’s frustrating. Do i need to connect the mic straight to the Xbox?
Is there a way to hook up 400 rig headset to a agptek he video capture to get game/party chat Xbox one x in ur recording
I have all the Aux cords from the mic/audio splitter and the audio splitter. And it isnt working on my xbox. Any tips to fix it?
if i use a chat link pro, can it still work with my capture card? i dont have an elegato capture card
I am getting double game audio when i connect my el gato chat link? I have all other sources disabled except my usb mic and my capture card. I also have monitor off on all sources too. ? How do i fix ? Only happens when i stream?
I have a wireless headset can you show how to do that
How can i Livestream Xbox series S Gameplay with Audio from Game & Headset and Footage from Sony FX30 Camera together? So basically 2 input HDMI sources
I can't figure it out. I have a gaming monitor that does not give out sound, I have obs, and I have a USB microphone. I'm trying to stream bo2 on the ps3. My mic audio works, but I can't hear the game play audio nor can the stream hear the audio
I can’t get my game audio to work for ins or stream labs. Using the Razer Capture card. Got it working then it quit
Everything is connected but the USB 3.0 option isn't in obs when I click on video capture, can anyone help ?
i dont have the same capture card but my capture card has two 3.5mm audio types. One says "line in" and the other has a headset symbol. I have the chat link cable. I am at 00:14:43 for this guide and you are adding the audio source which is the headset. Any ideas why when i go to add the audio source it just has my capture card as an option (no mic option) and then when i do use it, it duplicated all game sound?
Same thing
I have no sound in my vod playback and I have no music playin in the background. Using Xbox with headset and capture card
why does my external mic connected to my capture card but not my wireless mic for my xbox chat
All i want is native video and game chat audio when Im rolling with buddies like that on PS4/PS5
When I game on my PS5, I don’t even use the mic on my headset at all. I use an XLR mic (the one used in the intro of the video) with a GoXLR. This allows me to record the audio on my PC, while also having the ability to use voice effects in my PS5 game chat. It takes some setting up and devices that cost some money, but it’s pretty nice once it’s set up. I plan on doing a video on it when I get a chance.
@@DocValentino I have no idea what I'm doing, can't hear any game or party chat nore myself, I'm trying my best to follow the tutorial but I'm not that tech savvy, I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong PLEASE HELP ME

I have 2 mics one for console other for PC(OBS) n my headset is the Arctis Nova Pro Wireless. My question is how do I stream wirelessly without having to get an aux splitter, putting that into the controller and putting one aux into my HD60x(game capture card) and the other to my headphones?
This is slightly complicated to answer, but I had my stream setup for PS5 to where I would be wireless on my end with the DualSense Controller and Arctis Pro headset, and my Blue Spark Blackout mic for both my stream mic and chat mic. I used a GoXLR mixer, and a couple other things to get it set up this way. It was nice because I could use the voice changer on the GoXLR in my game chat as well, and I could mute each one individually with the stream deck app (you could do the same with an actual stream deck). I made this video to be helpful to people on a tight budget, but I never streamed this way. I would like to make a video on how to do it the way I did, but I never did because of everything it requires.. I can attempt that video if you think it could be helpful to people. I haven't streamed in quite a while because of my work and family schedule, but I should be able to set things up and make a UA-cam video.
I have the exact same capture card, and I do the steps, but I cant see anything on either of my monitors or OBS
I also have a computer and not a computer laptop
First off, great video. I am having a problem with my headphone mic not being picked up in OBS. I have the HyperX Cloud 2 mic connected through the elgato chat link with my controller. I figured that the elgato chat link would do the trick and it has, but only with game audio. I have messed with the settings and followed exactly what you did but nothing seemed to work. So is purchasing a usb microphone a better solution then having to deal with all the splitters just to get the voice audio working?
Thank you! Honestly, picking up a USB mic for a simple set up will make it so much easier on you. There are some nice options out there on a budget like the Razer Seiren amzn.to/3u3YilZ or, at the moment, the Razer Seiren X amzn.to/3OrkD5e which looks to be 40% off from the normal $99.99 price at the moment. The HyperX Solocast amzn.to/3bhjTkn is a decent budget option as well, and looks to be 33% off at the moment. If you're looking to maybe spend a little more, the Elgato Wave 3 amzn.to/3xVdd39 is a nice option.
@@DocValentino Ok. Thanks for the advice!
my game doesn't get my mic audio even using a separate mic
Definitely need a little more details I got all the splitters and hooked everything according but my audio doesn't come through
If you have everything hooked up like in the video, turning up your mic monitoring should be what gets your audio from your headset mic to get picked up.
@@DocValentino I got that issue settled but now my gameplay is getting picked up twice I think and has a echo do you have a solution for this?
Will this work on ps5?
Holy crap I'm so glad I have a BEAST PC and don't have to jump through all these hoops and all those cables..... I do have a buddy that is starting streaming from his XBOX series through a capture card and using StreamLabs but we can't find how to get discord audio to broadcast to his stream. Is there anyone that knows if this is possible and how to do it?
So I have the chat link pro and putting audio input as the Elgato HD60X that I’m using. In both OBS and the Elgato recording software, it’s picking up the console audio, and the console audio drowns out my voice. I know that I can turn down the audio to my headset itself, but I like having my game loud. Is there a solution to this or is this something I just have to deal with?
did you find a solution? im struggling with the same problem
Hey man I am youtuber/streamer and we can play tighter if that is cool with u and how do u connect a wireless one
Game play and teck it's good..
I simply stream Xbox on twitch and yt. I have a razer siren I want to use to talk in party chat with the capture card while using my Astro a10s to hear game audio. How would I go about this
Unfortunately, USB microphones don't work on Xbox. If you have a model of the Razer Seiren that has a 3.5 mm jack for headphones, you should be able to feed that into your controller with an aux cable and a splitter/adapter like the one in this adapter pack. The aux cable would go from the Razer microphone headphone jack to the mic port on the splitter/adapter. Your headset would plug into the headphone port on the splitter/adapter. A set up like that would essentially render the mic on your headset useless, but accomplishes the task at hand. Sorry for the delayed response to your question. I hope this made sense.
I'm just having problems with adding audio now such as gameplay party chat and my chat the gameplay and party audio won't split
Just need a step by step tutorial how to set my audio and gameplay

Able to figure this one out?
Can you do this again with the chat link pro? I'm trying to be able to monitor my audio from the computer. I have a Mac, evga xr1 pro and a series x. I have a headset and USB mic.
did u know how??
@@Jotta.D.Monkey yes. I figured it out on a different vid. You cant take the buz out with a plugged in mic tho
Tried everything even bought all the adapters and still can't hear my audio got the party audio but it doesn't pick up mine
If you have everything hooked up like in the video, turning up your mic monitoring should be what gets your audio from your headset mic to get picked up.
I have my headset that i use to hear and speak attached to a chat link pro (Elgato devices) but when i add a audio input capture and have to linked to the capture card and mic monitoring all the way up it still only picks up game audio what am i missing and now have 2 sources with game audio? IT looks so simple when you do it lol (edit unplugged and replugged devices and opened elgato game capture app and at live commentary selected game capture elgato, now i can see them moving in streamlabs obs) kinda solved my own problem but i wouldnt of figured it out without this video ty
Glad you got it straightened out, and that my video was able to assist in any way.
@@DocValentino goat :)
I'm trying to help my buddy he has a xbox series x. When he streamed directly from console the stream couldn't hear game chat. Regardless he bought a mirror box capture card , usb mic and using obs on a older laptop. He has it all working but he has a horrible buzzing coming from his mic on stream. I've tried filters and nothing is getting rid of it please help
It would be unlikely that the USB mic is causing the buzzing, unless the gain is set really high. Usually the buzzing will come from one of the 3.5mm connections, in which case a ground loop isolator should fix the issue amzn.to/3CI2tGH
Since the headset is connected to the Xbox and not pc will you not be able to hear your pc audio such as music/alerts when streaming?
If you’re doing it this way, you are correct. I know some people will monitor that stuff using an earbud under their headset. All of my audio comes through my GoXLR, and I highly recommend the use of some sort of audio mixer for anyone that plans on making consistent content, but it’s a bit of an investment to get the equipment. This video is by no means the recommended way to do things, but it’s cheap, and will solve a problem for some people to get them by if they’re just getting started with a small budget. Thank you for the question. I appreciate you.
@@DocValentino thanks for the reply 👍 if I use a goxlr does that mean it will capture party chat audio so I can hear using my wireless headphones connected to pc stream or will I need a separate headset dedicated to the Xbox party audio?
The GoXLR connects to a PC, and all of your console audio runs through it along with all of your other audio to your headset, like music and alerts. With a console, you would also need an audio extractor to split the audio out from the HDMI to go to your GoXLR. It can get fairly complex, but once it’s set up you’re good to go. I use this TESmart Ultra HD 4 Port HDMI Switch and Audio Extractor: amzn.to/3vkBeiw with and optical cable to the GoXLR. There are also some other little things here and there that you might need to accomplish a full setup like that.
audio input capture does not show capture card!
I have a razer wolverine controller and because of it I cant control the mic monitoring, so can the capture card still capture my mic voice if the mic monitoring is set to lowest?
I apologize for the delayed response to your question. Unfortunately, if you are doing it in this way without an external mic of some sort, it is likely that your voice volume will be captured extremely low if the mic monitoring is low.
@@DocValentino no problem thanks for the reply
I have a ugreen capture card.. and a chat link pro.. i can get my audio but i cant get teammates audio… any help???
Same issue here. It’s been a month now did you fix it?
So I have the ElgatoHD60X, using Xbox series S and Turtle Beaches. It records game play audio and voice chat but not me. I have my setting to play threw headset/speaker but it still doesn't capture my Audio. What would you recommend doing or using?
I had this exact problem and it’s because you need an external microphone to ONLY record your voice for the capture card. so basically your headset is only used to hear your game audio and party. So you can use your headset to hear the game and etc. but you need another microphone to plug into your capture to record your audio/ voice.
But in this video he clearly uses his headset as a mic ive set all mine up exactly the same but it wont capture the mic
I have the same capture card but i can't get the game audio and i don't no what to do....

Hey! I just wanted to let you know that I see your comment, and will try to put out a post this weekend with a little diagram for you. I’m pretty busy during the week with my job and family, so I probably won’t be able to until then. Thanks for watching and reaching out for help.
Same issue
i’m having an issue where my voice volume is really low on my OBS and even though i have my mic monitoring up all the way
Same here, the game audio overpowers my mic. Not sure how to fix it
I’m guessing to adjust the headset chat mixer setting more toward chat. Other than that, there’s not much you can do aside from using an external mic for OBS.
Hey, not sure anyone will see this but when I plug my chat link into my capture card the sound on my stream gets very robotic and tin can sounding. If I don’t run the chat link it sounds perfect, just can’t get chat audio.. any suggestions?
I see you, man. Not sure why that’s happening, but you can try a ground loop isolator. They are cheap on Amazon. That usually takes care of static in your connection, but not sure about the issue you’re having.

I haven’t been able to stream for a long time. Need to try to find time to focus on UA-cam, but my day job has been very demanding.
I wish you could help me with my stream.father of 4 and I'm just lost sometimes.
It’s not as simple as it seems to put together a decent stream. Just learn little by little. Being a good father is always a priority. That’s one of the biggest reasons I don’t put out more content. Sometimes I just have to play Barbies or get my toenails painted by a 4 year old princess 😂
Dude, I'm really trying not to be that guy. Im in a pissed off mood bc none of my stream shit is working and I found your channel. One, I can't see what the hell you're plugging into what with the chat link cables "Here and then here and then here and then here..." just holding up cable parts, we can't tell what's going on. 2nd, you move your video screen of yourself up and over the left hand side of the headphone section that you want us to see when the right hand side and middle of the screen is wide open.
I need help with something… maybe you can help? Drop me your discord and we can talk
