So you run around taking care of the house, watching over two adorable energetic girls, filling their noggins with knowledge the montessori way, and now your homeschooling!? Somehow you manage to keep you and your family healthy, look great and have an awesome attitude while doing it. Thanks for sharing all you do. Your an inspiring woman. I have a 4 month old and have to remind myself to comb my hair at times 🤭. Keep on keeping on 👍!

As a preschool teacher in Finland, I find your homeschooling Montessori planner so satisfying! And what you have said in the video about the method "following your child's interests", is precisely what the Finnish early childhood education is based on! :)
Yes, a bin tour would be great! Also some information on the learning areas would be helpful. How do you decide on those categories? Is it something you just know as a teacher, or are there Montessori specific areas? Can people add their own areas, based on their child's/family's needs?
My suggestion for the preschool videos: I think think you could make one video per unit. You could show us a sample day-in-the-life, and then have the rest of the video be in the same format as your Montessori activity ideas videos, with what Kylie is doing, and your explanation in voice over.

I will address this in next week’s video for sure, thanks for the specific questions! ☺️👏🏻 And in regard to your suggestion for the formatting of the preschool videos... This is generally what I was originally planning to do, but then I realized that in order to do those kinds of videos, I would need to be filming Kylie doing all of her learning activities… And honestly, I don’t want to do that. Me constantly filming her as she is trying to work would very seriously detract from the quality of her learning (and her privacy), as well as my ability to assist her, and I don’t want to do that for the sake of a video. I hope you can understand! I’m just trying to think about a different way to somehow incorporate similar content, but without having to film her.
@@HapaFamily Oh that's true. Definitely her experience and learning take priority over the video! Then maybe a sit down video that tours us through how you selected each activity based on the topic and your target learning areas?

I'm sorry your plans to send Kylie to a Montessori school didn't work out but know that as your viewers we are benefitting from what you generously are sharing with us. Of course we'd love a what-is-in - the - boxes tour! I purchased your Montessori e-course and haven't checked anything for toddlers older than Mia as my son is a few mo ths younger than Mia but I know this will complement anything that you've shared in the e-course! Thanks again so much for all this precious information. I think I wasn't ready to understand how much hard work homeschooling actually is and I pray I'm capable of doing a good job 😅 I truly wonder how you remain sane while educating yourself, your daughters, looking after the house, being a wife, and producing videos! My youngest is two months younger than Mia and I’ve been using your activity guides, but was wondering if you have any kid of structure in terms of the day and how you fit activities in around both girls. Great video! We have homeschooled since my daughter was 2 1/2 years old. We started with some Montessori inspired instruction and even today in first grade we are child lead. My daughter picks a subject and I create a unit study for her. I usually have a curriculum as our core and add a ton to it. Great to see you’re going down that path as well! I get so many extra ideas from your channel! 💕
Ashley, how many hours do you sleep? How you could manage all of it (blogging, editing videos, homeschooling, cooking, cleaning, reading books (parenting books) etc). Your big house always so perfectly clean. You always look so beautiful. Tell me please your secret. With 2 little kids I hardly can take care of myself. Your are amazing person with a wonderful kids.
I really enjoy the Montessori style of teaching. I don’t have children yet but even though I am a teacher, I feel that homeschooling would be a whole different ball game. Thanks for sharing your story! 🤗

This is wonderful, thank you! Can you please do a video on how to explain to a 3 year old that we are now going to be having learning "pre-school" work time every day. My daughter is 3 and a half. And if I trick her into learning, it works out great, but is a short session always. But if I say for example, "let's sit down and learn letters!" She will always say no :) Thank you so much again for all your amazing content.

Unit Studies are the best. I homeschooled my kids (all grown now) and we did tons of Unit Studies. Our Unit Studies were the core of the curriculum and were supplemented by mathematics. You'll enjoy it. It is tons of work, but joyful work. Besides, you do learning activities with your kids everyday anyway. Don't get too hung up on the idea of "school". Enjoy your kids and let them learn. Oh, by the way, my Granddaughter loves to watch your videos. I just say, "Do you want to watch the kids?" and she climbs right up on my lap to watch them live their everyday lives. She's going to be one year old next month.

You are nothing short of a Godsend! My daughter is slightly younger than Kylie, but also 3 and my littlest is 15 months behind her. I am using EVERY TIP and print out that you have shared and tweaking it for my kids to follow their interests! I love the Montessori way and was COMPLETELY overwhelmed before finding your channel this past January. THANK you for sharing your knowledge so systematically and freely! Saying it is no easy task is a complete understatement. This planner is incredible. I have been gathering items for some time to share with my daughter for starting preschool and seeing you introduce things to Kylie, including "blooper" moments, help give a more realistic feel. I have watched A LOT of planned out lessons other Montessori teachers post who do not use kids in the demonstration. It is hard to understand how the lessons look in real time. However, your examples are genuine and authentic. I have not come across a better representative of Montessori in a home environment! Superb post!!
I love how this just makes sense. We're gonna start "online" schooling next week and this makes the topics manageable! Kind of gotten overwhelmed with Geography-continent lessons. Really liked as well how Kylie already knows she wants to learn about snakes.
Ashley - this video is fantastic. As someone who is admittedly not a naturally organized person you have given me so many good ideas for planning out my little guy's homeschool preschool this year. I homeschool our 10 year old as well and he does a lot of independent work and I was often left stumped on exactly what to do with my 3 year old and how to plan it. I'm a former teacher as well and, while my son is not school age, I am totally aware that many parents may be pulling their hair out because they decided to home school, but have no clue what that really means. Your video is so helpful! I even wish I'd seen it as a teacher myself for the month-at-a-glance organization idea. I love it! I'm super organized and love binders, planners, schedules, etc, but you make me look like a slob, haha! Type As unite! Thanks for making a difference in so many people's lives! I know this will equip many in these tough times.
Thank you Ashley. Your organizing & planning is phenomenal! You share so much & its truly invaluable...it seems every other vlog I open they are selling their work. I find that so irritating, I appreciate that it is Alot of work & it's worth paying for to some people but some of these vloggers take it too far. I watched 1 vlog for awhile & she never homeschooled before, had no background & now all of a sudden she's selling her schedule & ideas & stuff. That's just crazy to me basically she's trying to make money on her experiment for her own child. SMH

Also, have you researched what they need to know by kindergarten? I’d love to make sure I teach that and more. But everywhere I searched, things required are really basic, like colors, shapes.

This binder was the ABSOLUTE HIGHLIGHT for me! By now I'm already a fan, so I´ll cut the chase and simply add that this video inspired me. Hi Ashley, I’m a single mom of a four month old and I think it would be awesome if you could do a video of core items used In everyday teaching and ample ways of storage and toy rotation. Especially for parents who are just hey started. I’m a busy sports therapist, you tube influencer,and hypnotherapist would rather have everything I need at once for the next three years rather than a constant to do list on a constant back burner -Thanks

Thank you! I wish I had this in March, but this will come in handy if schools close down again. I might even use it a little bit anyway for the seasons, festivities and some letter recognition.

I never thought I would homeschool either. Yet here we are, many of us. I want the children to be in a brick & mortar school with other children, too. Coming, myself, from a family of both medical people and educators, I want the school experience and all that provides in terms of socialization, etc. Yet the public health situation does not allow for that in our nation presently. This was thorough and it was good to see the actual planner. Good that there is a guide for it.

Thank you so much for generously sharing these resources! Very grateful for that! As others have also wondered, how do you do it all? It's not just a rhetorical question! I'd love to see a video with a time lapse of how you spend your day or week, for example. Do you have tips for busy parents on how we can better use our time productively? What shortcuts do you use? Every household is different but I'd really love to see how you actually parcel out your days so that you balance all your different roles. :)

Amazingly planned and organised .. with this pandemic I sometimes get negative n wanted to make a schedule of my son’s day to day activities for anyone else to refer 🙁n even for myself if I want to refer in future what I usually fed him or his activities and I all the time write dairies for everything but your calendar sheets makes so much sense for what I want to do too 😀
