Tomatoes cracks me up! 😂 I love how she stands in the bucket. And she knows what Sandi means when she tells her to get out! Sheep are a lot smarter than they might appear! 🍅💖🐑💖🍅
It is so heartwarming every time you include the “Golden Girls” in your Vlogs. Not just for us seeing them and how well they’re thriving but because no matter how your day has gone we can see how the tension in your body disappears and you shine! ☀️ Please continue to include them in every Vlog! ❤🐑🐑🐑🐑🐑
So yesterday I had a massage. And was telling my massage therapist about how many hours I've spent watching sheep give birth and run back and forth with each other. She kinda laughed and was like.....uhm. okay. Then we watched a few of my favorite clips and..... now she's hooked too. 😍🥰😆
Watching the babies scamper back and forth while their Mums eat never gets old! Thank you, Sandi, for creating such educational and amusing content! It's true that laughter is the best medicine!!! ,😅😂🤣😅😂🤣🥰🥰🥰
It must be so hard for you when it's time to cull the ewes. You give so much of your love and attention to these girls, you love on them and their babies, you heal them up when they get sick, and then when it's time to decide if they should stay or go you don't balk when the best financial decision is to send them off. I can empathize but I do not envy you the decision you have to make over and over again sending off girls that you invested so much in. The biggest lesson I have learned from watching your videos is that farming is Hard, with a capital H. ❤️
Kinzie is such a joy to watch. You can just see how much she loves her job! Your videos are always so fun and informational. Thanks for sharing so much that you and Mark do with this community.
Sandy you need to run à bootcamp. The work I see you do every darn day would build muscles for us, unfit, in no time. I prefer my exercise to have purpose. LOVE LOVE Willow!
Speaking of "a big personality"... and I couldn't deal with anything less in an animal. We took Tater to the vet yesterday for his usual "old man check up." He's never been real found of the cat carrier OR the vet! We got him into the carrier w/o blood being drawn. At th vet he snooped around and checked everything out after his check up. He was sitting in the corner next to my daughter and behind the diaper bag while we waited for the vet to come back in and explain his blood work. I finally, very calmly said, "You know Tater, if you crawled into your carrier, we could all go home." He did just that!😳😳 Not too shabby for a cat! Let alone a yella striped boy cat who was rescued from under a hydrangea bush when his mother left him there because she had more babies that she had teats!! He was less than a week old and had the BIGGEST mouth! Maybe he learned more than we thought when I sent him off to Grad School at Oklahoma State University. with my daughter because she decided that she wanted a cat.🤭
Happy Anniversary Sandi & Mark!! 🥂My husband and I will be married 42 years this December. 6 kids (2 boys from our marriage and 4 girls from his first marriage) , 20 grandkids (2 sets of identical twin girls from our boys), 16 great grandkids.
Happy Anniversary my wife and I would of been 26 years in August but she passed in July on the 24th hug and kiss your loved ones you never know when one or the other will be gone it justvtakes a blink for it to happen
Sandi, you work so hard! Your barns and animals are always clean and well worked!! Thank you for sharing your life with us! When I need a barn fix, your videos always help! Love!!
I was literally thinking the same thing! Love your can do attitude and Pride in doing things just a bit better to give a goal for others to shoot for. You rock!
On the dosing syringe, look for one that has a hose attachment. There is a spike that goes into the bottle, and a syringe on the end of a hose. You can either just hang the bottle on your chute, or they make a bottle bag that you can belt around your waist. We use them to vaccinate our sow's and pigs.
Clarissa is such a trooper and so much help, you lucked out with her. Happy Anniversary! Can’t wait for December lambing! The last group was small and went by so quick. My husband heard me watching all those lambing videos and mentioned, Sandi must be back at it again! Lol! He’s knows when he hears the lambs what’s up! I just adore you and your lamb family. The ❌ lambs doing the walk of shame….😢
I watched another video about a larger sheep business and they cull any ewe that does not get pregnant first time or if they need any assistance with lambing. So if the lamb is coming backwards or the head gets stuck etc., are culled after weaning. I thought that was very harsh but it’s a business and that business operates with very little labor to keep costs down so they only keep sheep that don’t need any intervention. It is difficult to watch but it’s a business and we can’t go to the store snd complain about prices and also want the farmers to spend more. So I had to adjust my attitude a bit but it is still hard to watch.
When we bought property to build a house, graze some cattle, and rent out crop acres, the area around the house build, where the lawn was going to be, was covered in multiple sized stones, rocks, and slabs. My husband was able to build a couple retaining walls with the larger slabs. Anyway, if any of our four children disobeyed, they had to go fill a wheel barrel with small rocks from our yard! They were 3, 5, 7, & 9 years old! It worked great. And when my husband and I went out to pick up rocks, they wanted to come and help, too! Go figure!
Hi Sandy 🙂 I don’t love my auto-injector either. I usually put a clean sterile needle into the top of the vaccine bottle, then I use it to fill the syringe and use a different needle to inject the sheep. I leave the clean needle in the vaccine bottle the whole duration of the job, which reduces the risk of needle sticks and preserves the rubber stopper. Thanks for your great videos 😊
I came to say the same thing! I foster companion animals and usually do their vaccines. I do the same. Leave the one needle in the bottle and just switch out the needles on a syringe.
Wow Sandi, I think it's amazing the amount of science that goes into raising sheep successfully! Thank you for taking the time to explain everything in your busy day. Simply fascinating! I think it's great what you & Mark do for your crop soil, as well. HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!! 🥂 ♥️ from Pure Michigan USA 🌊
Happy anniversary! My husband and I were also married on 9/19, we had a pirate themed wedding for Talk like a Pirate day! So Yarrr! Congrats on 24 and here's to many more!
Happy Anniversary to you and Mark! My hubby and I are nearing our 31st. Hoping you have many more years together filled with blessings and happy memories!
Am I crazy or does Sandi have a little extra sunshine in her smile in this video? How could she not with the Golden Girls acting like fluffy, 4-legged clowns? Congrats on your anniversary and the successful scan! 🐑 🤡
Oh my goodness, the color of Willow's wool on her back is just gorgeous! On my TV it shows up as a very reddish-black, and I'm here for it. I also loved getting to see your Golden Girls, as always. They look like they are doing really well. Have they started actually eating the grass yet? Or rather, anybody besides Tomatoes, lol?
A belated Happy Anniversary!!! Our 21st Anniversary of being together is coming up, although we have only been married 7 years. He started my lamb/sheep obsession 20 years ago by giving my an adorable stuffed lamb that I named Lambikins. When my grand daughter was 2 I found a larger version of him on Ebay and won the auction. When it arrived and I opened the box my grand daughter quite promptly grabbed it and he became her "Babert" (his name was Albert). She is now 18 and still keeps him on her bed. My Lambikins resides on a shelf, unless we are travelling then he comes with.
Love how you have invited us into your family! Congrats and many more happy anniversaries. When you go to take things apart I suggest you take a reference pic or two to compare.
Happy anniversary… Can’t wait for the next lambing season… I just love Willow how her little tail just goes crazy when she sees you when you pet her❤❤❤😊😊

Congratulations on your anniversary! Mine lasted 51 years , my dear has been in heaven for nine years now. Love watching your animal husbandry skills, and I love watching the births. Always loved animals, and have in my young married life helped with pigs giving birth, cows birthing, and dogs. Always have had, and still do, have a flock of hens. Your videos are a source of pleasure other videos lack.

Happy Anniversary! We’re coming up on our 50th - it’s amazing. If I could have 1/50th of Kinzies energy I’d be a menace. It’s especially funny when you fast forward and it looks like she’s racing the Road Runner. What a great dog.
Dearest Sandy, I enjoy learning about sheep so much from you that I thought I would have a look around UA-cam to see other sheep farms. I am appalled at how filthy everyone else's barns were! You run a marvelously tight ship ma'am. I started my adulthood in Equine barns, always cleaning cleaning cleaning. Happy Anniversary to you and Mark. Love watching your channel. I think Carissa is an amazing young lady, working with the sheep and having another job milking.
If the golden girls are moving from pasture to finishing barn and back, maybe check if they can retain parasites like worms (e.g. from wild animals like game) and treat them beforehand to prevent spreading them.
When you go to replace a part, take a picture, or two, with your phone; to double-check that you put it back together correctly! How is Jess doing? Still on her trip? Praying for her safety!
This is the farmer hard part - culling your herd for the greatest amount of productivity..... Then you put the human heart behind it and it makes it hard. Running by the numbers is the easy part - it's going by those numbers and parameters that can hurt. Keep taking it one day at a time Sandi. Happy Anniversary!! 24 years I hope my husband and I hit that mark (health issues)
With the bags, after you clamp them closed, flip the end over so the boards are under neath the fold that way rain and snow can't puddle at the end and will just roll off. Congratulations 🎊 on the 24th anniversary 👏
I think Tomatoes is going to get pregnant to a ram lamb because she’s a trouble maker. As Sandi says “Whatever you don’t want a sheep to do is exactly what they’re going to do” 😂
Tomatoes wants to be a circus sheep. She's very talented in getting all 4 feet in her bucket.🐑🐑🐑 Happy Anniversary!

Happy Anniversary to you and Mark! My parents just celebrated their 42nd year together this year!
My hubby and I got to 42 years as well, in June. Where does the time go? I can't possibly be old enough to have been married that long (ha ha).

Congratulations 🎊 on the 24th anniversary 👏
