    Sandi, I’m just a pediatrician, but there’s an instinct one develops with years of experience. You have that - trust it. You know your flock and your conditions best. Intervene when you get the urge and learn from every choice. ❤❤❤❤

      Y'know, now that you mention it, pediatricians have probably the best experience with this type of instinct since both children and animals aren't as good at communicating their needs as adult humans. You have to have a good eye, for sure. Never thought about it like that before but that definitely adds another necessary skill to pediatrician and pediatric nurses etc. You have to be able to read mind almost. Off topic, sorry.

    • @wheelie26
      @wheelie26 2 роки тому +7

      @@bigdawg77 that’s very true, they do need a sixth sense as children often tend to hide illness until they are really poorly and then it’s a case of ruling out what could be wrong until you find what it is, a little like Sandi’s ewes and lambs.

    Watching you attempt to resuscitate those black babies was heartbreaking. I'm glad you shared because I think we forget how hard on you that has to be. You're doing your best and that's perfect! If you think about it, there's a reason human doctors use all those tools and check mama's out regularly, because it saves lives. So I think more checking is better than less, so don't beat yourself up about checking, or about not checking if you don't feel the need. You're the pro (even if it doesn't feel like it at times).

      Hi Teresa...from someone who was diagnosed with Clinical depression 15 yrs.ago. I hope you feel the prayers of our sisters in this difficult journey day by day. I find encouragement from this saying..."We never know how strong we are until until being strong is the only choice we have." I too get much joy watching Sandi and her precious flock. The Serenity Prayer also helps me keep trying. I hope it helps you too. God bless you and hold you in his loving hands!!!

      I am a retired psychiatrist (MD) and because of severe hypothyroidism, I personally know the painful feeling of melancholic depression. It is a pleasure to hear Sandi's videos give you a reason to fight this pain of depression. It warms my heart that Sandi's efforts give you a reason to make this great effort.
      Make sure your nutrition is good and I hope you have good supportive people in your life.
      Humans are spiritual and I found learning how to be thankful and appreciative for what I have is powerful in fighting the feelings of depression. Seeing birth, knowing not every baby does come into the world helps me appreciate I am alive. Yes, I feel badly some don't make it but many others do. This gives me hope in general.
      I perceive you get similar feelings out of these videos as I do.
      US federal law insists with any medical information I leave, I must tell the reader this information does not make a doctor/patient relationship. The direct medical information above is regarding ensuring you get good nutrition (the basis of all good physical health). The psychological medical information is a mind/body subject of all Humans, religious or not are spiritual. Addressing attitudes are important to neurotransmitter production, although without proper nutrition first, none of the essential chemistries of the body can be maintained.
      I feel privileged Sandi allows us to follow her journey; she is a caring and kind person. This enriches the spiritual side of my life.

      Maybe this is Sandi's calling! To bring light and hope into the lives of those who are depressed. After losing her good friend to suicide, I know she's been trying to highlight depression and suicidal thoughts in farmers. Little did she know the reach she would have into regular people's lives, by simply, or not so simply, filming the births of her lambs!
      Sandi, I know how hard it is to film, not to mention edit and reedit videos to pass the UA-cam censors. Just know all that hard work may be saving human lives! Keep up the great work!

    While I have a chance at being one of the first commenters I wanted to leave you some information about sheep & goat fostering that I’ve learned. When the mamas sniff the lamb’s butts they’re trying to smell their own milk in the baby’s poop. I know you already do many things with scent to trick mum but now you can also focus on stripping out mum’s milk & feeding it to the baby so it smells right immediately. You can also focus on putting the other lamb’s poop on the new baby’s butt so it will smell right. I think feeding them foster mum’s milk is the missing link in your fostering process. Good luck Sandi & tell me if I’m wrong ❤️

    I have a friend who returns home every year to pull lambs. She tells me it is important as those bred to have multiples have a higher rate of mortality if left to their own devices.
    I am sharing this as i feel your subscribers may be pressuring you to allow "nature" to take it's course. Be confident in your methods. I love your posts.
