I overwintered a pink/yellow lantana in a pot in basement. I repotted 3 weeks ago, with fertilizer…..placed out in full sun, but all it does is grow ‘green shoots branches’ for now. (May). I will continue to fertilize with a flowering liquid fertilizer. I’m wishing for the flower buds. Ahna
Ohhh yes I hope she blooms soon, we are getting longer days and that should help. Lots of light helps blooms, but be careful since she has been inside. move slowly into sunlight over a few weeks so she can acclimate. 😀🪴
Another terrific, inspiring and educational video! I would be interested in online buying tips. How you find plants and what your experience is regarding condition upon arrival and of course, prices!
Thank you Dave! Great questions, On-Line buying is hit or miss. Depends on source. We have contacted some nurseries for direct sales of their plants and we have also used a nursery congregator site like ETSY. Overall we have about 90% survival rate on plants purchased via on-line. On the condition of plants… that’s where on-line shipping suffers. Approx 50% of the time we get plants that are beat up, alive, but beat up. Takes a few months for fill out and get growing. Some of the on-line fails we experienced were were that the plants never made it to our address or that they arrived so late they were dying form being wrapped up in dark packaging. Pricing is typically higher on-line. For the same size material down here in Miami a grower would have a much larger / fuller plant at the same price point. But A good thing about on-line plant shopping is that you can find some unique stuff. We picked up our network, silver dollar, shamrocks all on-line. Nobody had them down in Miami at the time so we sourced those on-line (Etsy). Hope this helps! 😀🪴
I don't buy plants on line because of the disadvantages. It takes months for the plant to recover. I prefer to buy at the store. The problem with buying in person is you're very limited! There's pros and con's both ways.
Hi, Love your terrace. What am I doing wrong? My potted Lantana bloomed beautifully in spring but now in July, there is just lush healthy leaves. I'm in north central Texas temps high 90's to 100. Lantana gets Callaway's slow released bloom boast 14-14-14 every 2 months per instructions. Would my Bougainvillea feed 6-8-10 be better? Lantana gets sun from about 10:30am to sunset. I pinched out the meristems in spring but have not pruned her since. She is in a mix of potting soil, pumice, pine bark and it's well draining. She is in a 2 - 3 gallon ceramic pot on terra-cotta pot feet on a concrete side walk. Help! Thanks!!!
Hi there, since your lantanas are growing vigorously, I would throttle down the nitrogen some. Try adding in bone meal. I would try using an organic bone meal, we like Dr Earth bone meal 3-18-0 (n-p-k). This ratio helps with roots and bud formation without over stressing plants. Hope it helps!!😀🪴
Another great video thanks! I'm growing lantana on my decks this year amazed at the performance I'm sold on these beauties.
Hi Kim! I am so glad to hear that😃. Lantanas are ahhh mazing!😀🪴

Where can I buy these lantanas in south Florida?
Hi! there, I could not find any nurseries in South Florida that had them in stock. So I purchased on-line from a nursery in Louisiana- Almost Eden. 😀🪴
Are they rabbit resistant?
Hi! Thats a good question, some growers say yes, but other say the lantana scent discourages them. Sorry i cant be more definitive. 😀🪴
