- Mudras are the hand gestures and finger postures used in representations of the Buddha.
Movements of the hands are used to represent motions or movements of the mind and are central to expressing the meaning of the Dharma
These well-defined gestures have a fixed meaning throughout all styles and periods of Buddha images.
They are also used by monks in their spiritual exercises of ritual meditation and concentration.

Recently Historian Rajendra Prasad Singh claimed that Buddhism is older than Vedic religion too, and also provided evidence regarding same, even though it's well accepted that Buddhism is older than brahminvaad, but is it older than Vedic religion too, it would be great to have a video on this topic
I don’t understand how Rajendra Prasad Singh can Make the assertion that is older than Vedic practice. If one agrees with current scholarship that Sidhattha Gotoma lived during the 6th or 5th century BCE and that the Vedas were composed between 1500 and 1200 BCE,
The math tells us that the Vedas are at least 500 years older than the Buddha and his Dharma.
Am I missing something in his analysis? Can you direct me to where Rajendra Prasad Singh makes this claim? Maybe there was something else which caused him to make the claim.

Gautama Buddha avatar lineage starts from that “Buddha”
@@ricardofranciszayas Rajendra Prasad claim in his book Khoye hue Buddha Ki Khoje with archeological evidence, the vedas were composed after 9th century. There is no evidence of vedas which were composed between 1500 and 1200 BCE.

Buddhism is as old as universe. Before the universe was created, buddhism existed. Saint who discovered the truth of universe is considered as Buddha or enlightened being, dharma is defined as phenomenon, which means than phenomenon of universe. While some people are still obsessed with the imaginary concept of newness or oldness. The purpose of Buddhism is to remove any obsession and return yourself to the universe, as you are part of universe, universe is part of you.
Buddhism is everywhere in the ten directions of the universe where humanoids exist. When Buddha Shakyamuni Came to this earth at the same time he Cloned infinite numbers of himself taking birth to ten directions of the universe where humanoids exist. Buddha Shakyamuni is the current Chakravartin Buddha of this universe.

“Buddhism is as old …” I would prefer to write as “Dharma as preached by The Buddha is as old …” considering that the word “…ism” is not valid for the Sakya Sampradaya/ Buddha teachings/tradition.
“The purpose of “Buddhism” …” instead would prefer to write as “the purpose of The Buddha’s teachings…”
@@rubabu Thanks for correcting me. At least my words have been conveyed. Buddhism is study about buddha's teachings. Buddha' teachings are dharma preached by Lord Buddha. People practice Buddha's teachings but not buddhism.

Buddhisme come from Hinduism. An adoption born of a chism incorporating some new elements, as Purushârthra wich are a bit different .You have to remember that the first enseignement Gautama the Buddha gives, is how to Liberate yourself of the karmic cycle of the existences . He never said, He is God. The scholars Monks made the religion .(why? Guess!) Buddism has no God, but the believers see Him as a God. Knowledge is fruitful if you add practice.☸ Namaste 🙏
